It's been years since anyone posted in this thread, but here's my contribution. This spell is best used by loading it, targeting your pet, and chain casting it to build your evo skill. It's the lowest level Evocation spell you get, costs very little mana, and is castable anywhere. You do realise the importance of having all your casting skills capped, don't you?

I find it great for pointing out a mob in a crowded area, or pointing out a direction.

Not really, but its can make pretty cool fireworks for cheap mana when your bored ;)
