Disease will drop this form.
# Jul 19 2013 at 3:33 PM Rating: Decent
Didn't read all of the comments, but I just wanted to say, if you get a disease cast on you, it drops this form. Guessing it is the Regen part of this form that gets overwrote by disease. Just thought I'd share.

Am I missing something here?? My alt level 25 Shammy got this spell....tried to mem it and it say it's a level 29 spell....??? I'm soooo confused!!!

I am guessing that the projected update for tomorrow the 11th of May will clear up the confusion with the new Spell level requirements.

All of the sites I have checked so far have updated the level requirements for spells from level 1-50. I believe EQ will follow suit on their next update.
just got bear form
# Aug 02 2004 at 11:52 AM Rating: Decent
the bonuses are nice but the bear itself looks kind of bad, and not having a sitting animation for a class that does a lot of medding is highly annoying. :(
Fun Spell

My Shammy alt just got to Bear form and I love it.
It has also answered my other question - so I will share that. No bears do not go in the woods, they wait to go in PoK.

I have a Troll shaman and I was wondering if there are well known places where bear-form would allow you to be non-kos where otherwise you would dare not approach. It might be helpful to be able to stroll past certain monsters as well as the good cities without worries.

With the changes made last year to illusions, the simple answer is "no" in general, depending on your diety. If you are Rallos Zek, there's a chance it could make you non-kos in "good" towns. If you follow CT or Inny, then the answer is definitely no.
Pro's Of Bear Form

When Ldon came out and the zones weren’t mapped yet by players so it was difficult to find your way around. I go to MMC (Mistmoore crypts) and cast bear form and then use shrink on myself. I would then have the ability to look through walls when i press against them. This is great for players who want to see if theres dead-ends, mobs hiding in places that pullers won't notice until its too late, named mobs in room etc.

This saved my group a lot of hassle when we were new to a LDON. I also use it in other zones and it's a very helpful form unlike Druids/Rangers Wolf form who can only cast it outdoors.

I know theres maps out now and some one was thinking of posting a link to a webpage saying "Here's a link so you can download the maps and don't need to use shrink and bear form" but as rules say your not permited to advertise addresses otherwise i would link a few recommended sites.

A lot of players says it cheating but I know for a fact that most players say that either PL or do samething if they had a chance (Eq druids use wolf form). If it was classed as cheating they would and should of fix it ages ago.

But none the less more helpful when indoors and not sure what hides around the corner.

(Just wondering how haste is involved with this forum area and i thought Alla would of moved them to a different forum since it so old and would cause a bit confusion to newer eq players.
#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 02 2003 at 11:11 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) I have a ashenwood short spear of haste i picked up for 100pp. Great untill i found out it had 10 chgs and then is worthless. Is there a way to recharge items. Who makes up crap like these where you use for a couple of times then might as well give to a newby cause the stats usually suck.

Haste?!?!?!?!

Why are all these posts down here about Haste %??? this is an Illusion spell.. nothing to do with haste at all!!!
RE: Haste?!?!?!?!

There seems to be some sort of corruption in the database for these forums. Its not too unusual to see a whole thread that is obviously about a different spell entirely than the one at the top of the page.

Haste
# Dec 02 2002 at 1:52 PM Rating: Default
I know this must seem a dumb qestion but haste only effects melee skills yes? You need spell haste 1-4 to affect your spell casting. Did I say anything wrong just then?

# Mar 01 2003 at 11:08 AM Rating: Decent
can i ask why there is a thread about haste of any kind under Spell: Form of Bear??? am i missing something? I know form of bear doesn't have haste so whats the deal
RE: Haste
# Mar 02 2003 at 11:21 AM Rating: Decent
yes why are you talking abut haste in the bear form forum??
RE: Haste
# Dec 02 2002 at 4:27 PM Rating: Decent
This kind of "haste" only affects melee attacks. "Spell haste" only affects spell casting time. What you said is correct, as long as you know that "spell haste" and "haste" are not the same thing.
Haste Stacking
# Nov 05 2002 at 9:44 PM Rating: Default
How does item haste stack with spell hastes?

Here is my situation:
I have a hangmans noose (17%?), and Paladin self only haste spell (25%), and up until recently, I carried a Mithral Two Hander in my EEbag (to use against casters). I have a 32/40 2Hp I use over the Mithral, because my belt and my Sword didn't seem to stack. And since then, I got the 25% Paladin Self Haste spell, that came out recently, but again, it doesnt seem to making the impact I was thinking it would.

I have not seen stacking, at least not that I can tell. It seems like I either have haste or I dont. With one or any of them equipped, I definitely swing faster. noticeably faster. If I have my spell up and my belt on, it seems about the same as with just the belt only, and no spell. I am not getting a spell message saying it is not taking hold or anything, so the spell seems to be the one in control. I had similar experience with the mith and the Noose. Either you had haste or you didn't. If they stacked, it should have been detectable, but I couldn't tell any difference. If one is 17 percent and one is 25, it should be enough of a difference to be able to tell if they are stacking or not. But if the spell and the noose were stacking with each other, I should have seen even more swings than if I had just the belt or only the spell.

I gave the Mith to an alt, so I havent been able to test if the Mithral haste and the Pally Spell haste stack, but I will post my findings when I get around to doing the handoffs, and find out.

Has anyone seen test results of, say, enchanter haste stacking with item haste? Or item haste and 2nd item haste? Or Pally haste stacking with enchanter haste?

It seems regarding haste> whichever the greater will prevail. But they do not stack.

My understanding (and it's a pretty basic idea) Is that you get one item (whatever's the highest), one buff, and a bard song. I've heard that there are a select few buffs that do stack with enchanter epic haste, or something else, so I think there is a possibility that you can get 2 buffs to stack if they're the right 2 buffs, but I don't know off-hand which ones they are. I can't confirm that for sure, but the basic rule-of-thumb is 1 item, 1 regular buff and 1 Bard song.

Erjav songs stack with buff haste, and allow you to break the haste cap. FYI.

#REDACTED, Posted: Oct 09 2002 at 4:04 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) hmm i didnt read all the post but the value on a item is a set % the the velium swiftblade is 36% which means you have to be level 35 for the haste to take effect. thats why they put 2% (lvl1) 50% (lvl49) get it?
Speed is...
# Sep 28 2002 at 6:59 PM Rating: Default
I frequently see people discussing this but the effect is right there...
1: Increase Attack Speed for between 2% (L1) to 50% (L49)
... SO at lvl 1 you go 2% faster and 1% faster then that each level after to lvl 49.
So if you ar lvl 35 you would go 36% faster.

But Item haste Is *NOT* a variable it is set at certain percentage regardless of character wearing it.

You are Stating the spell stats for -spell- haste
where your theory about haste does more aptly apply.

Example: Swiftclaw Sash 15%
Velium swiftblade 36%

Numbers gotten from Illia's post below (an Admin on this site)

This explains the incredible variance in demand for haste items.

Only the highest -item- haste takes effect overwriting any other -item- haste.

Will stack with both spell haste and bard haste songs.
