No effect on heals?
# May 11 2004 at 2:34 PM Rating: Decent
I have been using the Teacher's syllabus on my level 31 cleric. For some of the spells like Guard, Bravery and the Endurance line the Syllabus will "glow softly". However, for my healing spells the syllabus doesn't seem to do anything - no mention is made that it is activated. Is that because these items are for "long term" beneficial spells? Smiley: yikes

Its cause of the duration. Enhancement are spells that works for a longer period of time, in this case - as it says - minimum 72.00 seconds. As healing spells (except heal over time) are instant, they will not benefit from this focus. Try some spell haste instead, or if highlevel look for something like the shoulderpads of the Prototypes in PoI.

Hope this helps.

Does this effect also include CH? It does not say exclude spell CH here. Could anyone confirm this please.

No spell haste EVER effects complete heal...complete heal always has a cast time of 10 seconds.

I guess focus items do not affect bards? I put this on in hopes to decress my casting time so that I could twist songs better. It did not work.

Are you sure it doesn't? It's true that it would be quite unfair if I were to get an item with Enhancement Haste and one for Extended Enhancement... with those, and some of the Affliction ones, we could twist 4, maybe even 5 songs at once. We'd certainly become the life of the party but I think that ultimately it would unbalance the class.

It's still a bummer... and I'm simply hypothesizing (sp?).

Wait a minute. We can already twist four.

And Selo's Accelerating Chorus is over 72 seconds, whee! =D

If you would look, it says that the minimum spell duration for this to work is 72 sec...sorry Bards

Spell Details Wrong
# Aug 23 2002 at 11:32 AM Rating: Decent
Might as well post the spell description is wrong. It heals 180hp per tick for 5 ticks (not 4). I have never seen this spell heal for less than 900 hp (180 x 5).

Hence it's mana efficiency is 4.0 which is very high and should be used at all times unless timing is the issue. Complete heal only outperforms this spell if the victim is down 2k + hit points.

DO I UNDERSTAND THIS CORRECTLY?
# Jun 30 2002 at 7:10 PM Rating: Default
5 ticks x 180hps = 900
OR
4ticks x 180hps = 720

So which is it 4 ticks or 5 ticks? Thanks.

No it means 180 per tick times 4 ticks is how much it heals. And yes it's an amazingly efficient heal!
