Well, as a Mage I am actually happy about this, Mages and Necros rely on their pets the most so this makes since, those beastlords have their fists which accounts for 92+ % of their total dps, so giving them EM's is just wrong in my opinion, but for Mages, and Necros our pets are what makes are classes perform.

First show me a mage or necro that dies before a bst and I'll show you a poorly played mage or necro. Second While bsts do melee, they do rely on their pets to off-tank when needed. Third a mage or necro pet base, no aa or focus, is far superior to the same level bst pet.

How of those listed classes have you played? necro mage or bst? From what I've seen of each class (btw I play a mage too) necros are masters of DoTs, mages are nukers and bsts are melee. Though each player has a different style, one fact does remain, mages and necros sit back and cast on mobs while bsts are in the mobs face.

If you as a mage or necro are using this to ramp up your pet to tank then you're likely using it to solo. As a bst if you're using this to pet tank then you're likely pet clericing and NOT sitting back nuking. Necro and mage tank pets have a higher defense rating than a bst pet.

I've been playing a bst for 10 years and in that time I've managed to parse in the group game the rough % that bst pets make up in a bst dps. Depending on the AA spent on the pet and bst, a bst pet does about 30-40% of the total dps. No Focus. With a focus such as this one it is closer to 40-50%. Bst dps goes roughly as follows: 30-40% melee, 20-30% spells, and 30-50% pet. There are variances but that's roughly how bst dps works. If you like I can come back here and post a parse from a normal fight to show my point.

The reason a necro or mage needs this is so their pets can tank better. However a focused mage or necro pet has a gain that is bigger than a focused bst pet.

I'm sick to death of mages and necros bashing bsts and their pets. /end rant.

Enhanced minion effects are only for "pet classes" which are listed as only mage, necro, and bst. Chanters, clerics and the rest might have pets but are not considered pet classes by description.

I've seen a lot of players try to play those classes as pet classes but they are not true pet classes.

Ok I'll grant you that much but really to me with a pet like that you might as well include the Druid, Wizard, and Cleric pets too. All are really only good for a few extra dps in groups and not worth the mana solo.. I have a Druid too and we would all need like Enhanced Minion LL. LOL.

Shaman pets aren't great but better than Druid by far.

Thank you for the added numbers, I don't run a parser so I only had what I see of the mobs health. I just wanted to add that on the rare occasions that someone in the group is parsing I always felt a little defeated being a class that many see as a dps class and always being at the bottom of the list even while burning through mana. Well now I see why, it's because my pet aa's were 6 years old (long break) and now that I've started putting more points into my warder I can see a big difference. So still the same applies, without our Warder we really do not add much more than a shaman would if they just slowed the mob and sent their pet in.

A few corrections. Now I'll admit I don't know a whole lot about a WalMart in a robe but as far as a BL's dps being 92% player melee, incorrect. Maybe if I used a warder from 20 levels ago. My warder does about the same dps as me because of the 85% haste. That's with no nukes, dots or disc's so ya we can out damage them. (I have EM X by the way) But when there's no real tank or a bad one in the group we have to be careful of agro because slow alone can pull agro let alone 4k/tick in dots and nukes. Beastlords also don't get the same base double atk that other melee classes get without aa's so we may only have 66% or so of the hits that say a monk or SK gets. So to say "Oh they have their fists" just means you don't know the class.

By the way if you only send your pet in and sit back you're relying way to much on your pet also, I do know you have nukes and being away from the mob you can hit them with a little more than a BL before taking agro.

(sorry if there's errors I'm typing on my phone)

It's been fixed to include beastlords. Bestlords pets used to not need focus. They were just badass. Then someone cried nerf. Necros, as usual, did not give a damn. Necros don't want anyone to be nerfed. Nerfs suck.
