Extended Duration, Self Only
# Jan 24 2004 at 2:54 PM Rating: Decent
Any one else see this: Target Type: Self
I have been recently told that the effect Zephyr of Brell is self only so I looked it up. Says self. Can somebody confirm this thought?

This extends any buffs you cast on yourself or on others by 20%. The "Self" tag just means it only affects the spells you personally cast.

So if you have this lovely item on your shoulders when you cast any buff on yourself or anyone else, you will see a message that your Blessed Coldain Prayer Shawl "sparkles" or something similar, indicating that the duration of the buff has been extended.

The augments of spells (like this) say self for target because you have to wear it on your person to have it go off.

Duration Calculations
# Dec 04 2003 at 1:03 PM Rating: Decent
To counter the flame of Fallenangelca, it is you who has no idea of grade 1 maths. While what you say is true, that 50+15 = 65, you fail to realize there are two ways of applying two different % increases.

The second way is as follows.
150 Minutes + 50% = 225 minutes.
225 Minutes + 15% = 258.75 minutes.

258.75/150 = 72.5% increase.

Just because this is not how Sony calculate this does not mean the person has a basic lack of maths skills, it only means they dont know how the game works.

The correct answer is as you state 65, but your flame proves your lack of grade 1 maths, not the person who worked out 72.5% due to misunderstanding how the game works.

Fallenangelca is the kindergargen drop out, while the person who got 72.5% might be the ebay, or simply picked the method of calculation which sounded best, even though wrong.

Thank you Tassio

For anyone who is curious as to why the math is different than how you would normaly add %'s together as Tassio stated. Is because the duration increases are based off of the base duration. So 15%+50% is 65%...or
100min + 15% = 15min increase
100min + 50% = 50min increase

50min + 15min = 65min
or 65% increase on original duration

I was confused for a long time about this myself. Hope this clears things up for those with questions.
Durations
# Oct 23 2003 at 12:57 PM Rating: Decent
The way I understand spell duration is as follow.

Do NOT take the durations litteraly. Using 100 for easy math understanding.

Said "BUFF" last 100 minutes normaly.
Said "BUFF" with 10% AA adds 10 minutes.
Said "BUFF" with Zephyr of Brell 20% adds 20 minutes.

So with AA and Zephyr of Brell, TOTAL equals 125 minutes of buff time.

umm...100+10+20=125??? what school did you go to?
Anyway, AA ext will work on heal over times, at least it does for my shammy's quise* (however its spelled). I was shocked when i first heard this, so i timed it and it works.
#Fallenangelca, Posted: Oct 13 2003 at 7:28 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) If you have SCRM and this item your total duration is 70%. basic math 50%(SCRM) + 20% (Shawl) = 70%.
Heal over time

Does this work for HoTs (Heal over time) Like the Celestial line?

Seeing how it IS a benificial spell and icon in your buff window.

The extended enhancement items will not work on heal over time spells... as you can see it only works on things that are longer than 48 seconds.
The AA extended enhancment WILL increase the time on your heal over time... so with that at level 3 and Spell casting reinforcement master you would add 50% to your heal over time spells.... since they are normally 24 seconds that would make them 36 seconds and give you an extra 2 ticks of healing

I don't believe it does. lol, don't quote me on this though. But I'm pretty sure that it doesn't. ;)

Does this shawl make mana regeneration faster, because if it doesn't i am going to stick with the 7th shawl.

FT Stacking?
# Sep 05 2002 at 1:54 PM Rating: Default
k, I don't really pay much attention to things, but you can stack multiple FT items for up to 15mana per tick is what your saying?
Also does the AAXP mana regen effect the cap or is it a separate entity on it's own??
RE: FT Stacking?
# Nov 20 2002 at 4:10 AM Rating: Decent
You are right on both accounts. FT stacks up to 15, so you can have 15 FT1 items, 5 FT3, or whatever, up to 15. And no, AA mana regen is seperate.
RE: FT Stacking?
# May 08 2003 at 1:42 AM Rating: Default
My only beef with this post is you cannot stack similar FT with similar FT (FT1 + FT2 = FT3, but FT1 + FT1 = FT1). The 15pt total FT limit is correct. (ft1+ft2+ft3+ft4+ft5 = ft15)

FLOWING THOUGHT PATCH CHANGE

Alan explained in the Developers Corner that the change made to flowing thought in todays patch allows all flowing thought items to stack with each other.
This means a Flowing Thought I and and Flowing Thought II item will stack to increase mana regeneration by 3 per tick.

RE: FT Stacking?

This quote is, or may be missleading as I see it. Alan did not say that, from the developers corner archive:
Quote:
Sorry, I guess that was a little less than descriptive.

How about this:

- Flowing Thought effects will now stack with other Flowing Thought effects.

Alan

so this could mean that ft1 and ft1 could stack together to make ft2. or if you read into it, and try to over-annalize it, could mean... ft will stack with any 'other' ft (meaning besides itself repeated, ie...ft1 will stack with anyft effect, other than ft1) I prefer to believe it is the simple definition. I suppose I will just have to get a bunch of ft1 Items and try it out.

New effect on test
# Aug 30 2002 at 2:04 PM Rating: Decent
The new effect on test server:

Zephyr of Brell is now just a 15% extended buffs effect. Actual FT3 is now on the shawl.

The reason for the change:

This used to stack with FT items completely, meaning that someone with this shawl could have 15 worth of FT items AND this shawl giving an effective mana regen of 17 per tick, 2 over the limit set by Verant.

The change makes this item just another FT item, so it stacks but doesn't push anyone over the 15 limit. It was changed from FT2 to FT3 probably to make this seem like less of a nerf.

And to answer previous questions:

Yes this stacks with AA extended enhancement, and yes this stacks with clarity and all other FT items up to the 15 cap.

FT items will stack up to FT15 total.
RE: Does this stack with Extended Enhancment?
# Nov 11 2002 at 2:25 PM Rating: Good
Nope, doesn't stack. If you have a 15% and a 20% extension, it'll pick the 20% and ignore the 15%.
#REDACTED, Posted: Aug 02 2002 at 9:24 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) The effect combines FT2 and Extended Affliction 3 - which only adds 15percent longer buffs for single targets
