This spell and the AA are benenficial spells and will be extended in time by any focus items that extend the length of benficial spells.

My 81 necro has the AA and currently gets 24 seconds from this spell with an occasional shorter 20 second time instead.

Morromid/Morrgue
Harmshield has other uses too...

I noticed everyone keeps repeating that this spell is useful for preventing combat damage, but that's not how I use it...if you're getting your **** beat, that just means it'll take 18 seconds longer for you to die...

I use this spell in 2 instances only:

a. When I need to run though a deadly area and am CERTAIN I can reach the zoneline/be out of reach of all mobs before the spell wears off, and,

b. In non-levitate zones, this spell is great for jumping off a height to get to the next part of the zone. Just cast and jump (comes in especially handy in The Deep and Katta Castellum).

My 2 cents.

Sorry. NECROMANCERS can have two invulnerability spells memmed at the same time.
FYI
# Aug 18 2006 at 8:38 PM Rating: Decent
You can mem this spell as well as Quivering Veil of Xarn at the same time for those odd times (e.g. raiding, exploring) where you need some extra invulnerability.

Multiple Feign Deaths (e.g. Feign Death, Comatose, Death Peace) can also be memmed at the same time if one should fail.

When I zoned into Abysmal Sea the find button said mystical forces prevent me from finding my destination quickly.

His location is -233, -180, 99. Using the ingame maps, he's in the bottom right corner on the lowest deck.

This spell can be store bought from Daris Rodril in the Abysmal Sea. Note, he is the Shadow Knight vendor, not the Necromancer vendor.

you cant FD while this is on because you can't cast any spells, FD would be included. If you used this first, and think youre still gunna have aggro when it goes, get far enough away now so you can FD when it fades, or click it off when you are ready. You don't have to wait for full timer, you can click it off like any buffs.

# Nov 10 2004 at 4:11 AM Rating: Decent
this spell is great. its same as clerics lvl 1 divine aura, that spell that keeps saving his life. Keep this and FD on your spellbar always, when FD fails you have backup ready, so if you mess up or FD fails, and still now have that huge red con mob hitting on you and you are almost dead, you don't have to die. Its also kewl because time you spend invul will repop FD, so if you still have aggro by time its over, redo FD. HarmShield/Divine Aura takes about 5mins to repop. it isnt as long as it sounds, inless you or your group gets in constant trouble. if you havent been using it, and want to now, put it on your spellbar when you are running out to meet your group, by time you get there it'll be ready.

Spell is researched by words of absorption and refuge. Trival is so low you can put 20ish points in research at GM and make it yourself if you want, if you can't find researcher.

Divine Aura & Harmshield give you the 18 seconds of Invunerability.

Harmshield will recycle for a recast in 6 min.

Divine Aura / Barrier recycle in 15 min.

In PvP you can use Pumis to debuff the "Invunerable" Cleric.

Harmshield will actually protect your buffs from pumis attacks.
**Please note: last time I checked was in 2004. You never know now days the way PvP changes.

The recast is 10 minutes not 6 minutes. :) Just a minor correction.

I assume the answer to this will be no, but does anyone know if Harmshield invulnerability works against Death Touch?

Harmshield, I can definitely confirm, is NOT going to save you from Cazic-Touch. Just last night the Spiroc Lord in Plane of Sky CT'd me right through Harmshield.

FD while INVUL
# Sep 10 2004 at 1:22 AM Rating: Decent
Anyone know how the hell you can FD while INVUL? dunno, I'm a NOOOOOOB ... Necro's, nor shadowknights CANNOT FD while this spell is in effect, as you can't cast ANYTHING while you are INVUL
RE: FD while INVUL
# Sep 12 2004 at 1:41 AM Rating: Decent
I believe this spell is a 2nd line of defense. In other words, if your Feign Death fails, this spell will give you 18 seconds to run to the nearest zone...

....or just extend your suffering 18 seconds depending on your luck.
RE: FD while INVUL
# Sep 12 2004 at 1:58 AM Rating: Decent
I'm a moron. This spell is 2nd line of defense if your Feign Death fails, but mainly it is useful becuase it allows you the time for your Feign Death to refresh it's self.

Check the posts below.

I think this is a phenominally useful spell for clearing paths for raids/groups. Think about it - you need to pass a bunch of see invis mobs that you are unable to kill and need to get past. The Necro hits this, trains through them, leading the mobs away, and then FDs at the end - allowing the group to pass through safely. Sure makes Kael and chardok corpse runs/raiding a hell of a lot easier.
RE: FD while INVUL
# Aug 14 2006 at 7:27 PM Rating: Decent
Add a mage to the group and he can CoH you back to group after you have trained all the mobs away.....after all you ARE a hero now.

where do these words drop? anyone know?
RE: help
# Sep 12 2004 at 1:52 AM Rating: Decent
This spell calls for Words of Absorbtion & Refuge.

Words of Absorbtion are fairly common and they drop off of many 20-30 level monsters.

Words of Refuge is much more rare, but certainly attainable. Allakhazam states that they drop in the Recondite Camps in Paludal Caverns. The only copy I have seen drop was off a Tentacle Terror in Najena. I was there for over twenty hours, and I saw one drop.

I believe Words of Refuge drop off of many 20-30th level monsters just like Words of Absorbtion, but they are far more uncommon.

Just check the Bazaar.

This spell is fantastic. Yes it can be interrupted just like fd or any other spell, but at higher lvls you regain your concentration and continue casting. Also when someone accidentally pulls a bunch of adds, you already know they've done it and when folks say ZONE cast it and you'll be invulnerable and most likely make it to the zone or if you know you can't because of lag, fd cause you're invulnerable anyway. Trust me it's a beautiful thing.

where does this spell drop as well as the comatose spell
RE: where does this drop?
# Jul 24 2003 at 6:45 PM Rating: Excellent
Harmshield is a researched spell, so you'll have to search out a necro with the appropriate words (Refuge and Absorption) to do the combine. Comatose is the end result of the Dark Casters quest for LoY located here http://www.allakhazam.com/db/spell.html?spell=3685
I hate Allakhazam's Explainations
# Mar 10 2003 at 12:17 PM Rating: Default
This spell makes you invulnerable to any attack for 20 seconds. You cannot cast while you are invulerable. Useful when you want to run away and live. Although this spell take 5 mins to use onec memorized, can be useful if you have an unused spell slot.

I does NOT require a bloodstone to cast. and it is perfect for when FD fails and your wating on the recast time. It's upgrade is Quivering Veil of Xarn, which provides regen while it is in effect. QVoX can now be cast at any time.

# Feb 25 2003 at 10:02 AM Rating: Default
Its a researched spell...u need some words...cant remember which ones...and you need a bloodstone to cast it...its a worthless spell IMO as it fails alot because you would only really cast it if your attacked and since its interruptable...well...you get the picture.
RE: worthless
# Apr 16 2003 at 3:36 PM Rating: Default
All spells at lower level "fail" a lot when you're being attacked, but if you're being beat on and going to die anyway, why not give it a try? If you succeed, you have 18 seconds to make sure you're not going to be hit again.

Talk to any cleric about DB/DA. This spell is useful in very specific circumstances.

this spell is very useful in a situation, ie: Feign death failed, and your being beat on, use this and your invulnerable for 18 seconds, thats enough time to run away (providing your NOT going to be training other people) and recast feign death or zone, either way its a lifesaver

it also protects against fall damage
