Corrupted Ghoulbane...
# Jul 21 2004 at 1:53 AM Rating: Decent
It's obtained by turning over a Decrepit Sheath, Soul Leach, Blade of Abrogation and the regular Ghoulbane, to Duriek Dreadpool in Paineel, Newbie zone. The Decrepit Sheath it obtained by giving a Decrepit Hide, a Drake Spine and an enchanted bar of plat, to Teydar, an NPC in the sewers of Qeynos.

The Hide drops off of Ashenbone Drakes in Plane of Hate. The Spine off of a named Cleric-type drake (Rharzar) in Rathe Mtns. the BoA is dropped off of the Spiroc Lord in Plane of Sky. Soul Leech drops in Fear, off of the Demi-gods, and C-T himself. the Ghoulbane is a drop off the Shil Lord in Guk, but it's also questable.

Have fun!

It was very hard to understand this post, but from what I gathered, you assume that haste = more proccing, which is something I think needs to be cleared up.

Now to the best of my knowledge which I have acquired over the ages of reading on this site, I've come across substantial evidence that supports the fact that the higher delay weapon, the more likely your procs are to activate. This is often put to work with that 2hs that procs Upheaval and is often used in AE warrior groups. The war's remove any haste equipment and may sometimes get slowed to lower their delay even more. Now they pull massive amounts of trains and hit their riposte disc. Baddabing baddaboom you have 4 warriors proccing PBAEs on just about every hit and that equals many dead PoFire mobs.

Anyways, that seemed off track but it was to prove a point. Adding that second lifetap (prock life thap, that's some hardcore spelling btw there chief) will increase the chance of those things hitting, but you're more likely to get procs to go off by getting slowed than by getting hasted, that just adds more DPS. The game's designed to account for the increase in attacks by lowering the proc rate so you're not proccing every three seconds, which would just be far too unfair. It evens out the proccage so that it occurs at an even rate for any delay. Adding that riposte disc in for the AE groups makes it happen more often though because the delay is still high as hell but the hits are flying like mad. That also explains why two handed weapons can proc more than once a battle.

Hope this helps. I can't believe I actually tried to read that dribble also. Please, learn to type/spell/use punctuation other than a period. Please.

I'm glad to see there are still some others that can add and correct information without flaming away. =)

On that note... A few things I feel I have to correct with your post.
Firstly, weapons do proc independant of delay -- this means that they will proc at the same rate no matter if you are hasted OR slowed so getting slowed will not make you proc more often.
Secondly, where you stated that the warriors in an AE group in PoFire using Earthshaker would use riposte disc to get many procs there are a few flaws. Autoriposte disc only makes you hit more if you are being beaten on -- so there would be no point (with your methods) for more than one warrior in this scenario since even clerics can out DPS warriors using PBAoE. Also you will never proc on a riposte -- procs only happen on actual offensive weapon swings not the defensive swing of riposte so the warrior getting hit using autoriposte would not be procing more often than normal.

Now to clarify the Warrior PBAoE PoFire group theory. Earthshaker procs Earthquake a 246dd PBAoE (hits infinite mobs in a small area). Warrior's get an AA called Rampage that basically lets every offensive weapon swing hit every mob in a small radius for a short time (yeah same as PBAoE DD kinda). While autoriposte doesn't add to your chances to proc, Rampage on a group of mobs WILL since they are still offensive weapon swings.
OK, Proc's happen independant of weapon delay -- including being hasted and slowed... lots of times I've seen this said and taken as gospel but I haven't really seen it explained. My numbers may be a little fuzzy with this because I haven't taken the hundreds of hours to parse enough in various levels of haste and slow to get the exact numbers but using my theoretical numbers will work fine to show how this works.
Assume with a given dexterity (I've heard numbers anywhere from 255 to 385) and no weapon afinity AA's you are suppossed to get one proc every 30 seconds. The way I believe EQ calculates this is that every offensive swing it takes your delay after haste / slow into account to decide a % chance you will proc that hit. The basics would look like this:
Assumptions... 70 delay weapon and 1 proc every 30 seconds (70 delay means one swing every 7 seconds).

7 sec/swing X 1 proc/30 sec = 7/30 proc/swing = 23.33% chance each swing will proc.

Now... assuming that max weapon affinity AA changes the proc rate to once every 20 seconds and knowing that the delay calculation with haste also works with slow so assuming 75% slow from a shaman and the same 70 delay weapon:

1/(1+haste%) X delay = 1/(1-.75) X 70 = 280 delay slowed

28 sec/swing X 1 proc/20 sec = 28/20 proc/swing = 140% chance each swing will proc.

That means you are much more likely to proc every swing however remember you are only swinging once every 28 seconds so for normal applications this is pretty useless since the majority of a melee class's DPS comes from weapon hits and not the procs. However, when you combine this almost guaranteed proc every hit with the warrior PBAoE melee hit AA and Earthshaker (246 dd PBAoE proc) you get the warrior AE group theory: pull 50 mobs and each warrior proc's roughly 40 times for 9840 damage instantly plus what the actual melee hits do and you get a truck load of damage in a short amount of time. 3-4 warriors with a shaman using this method could really put the hurtin on most areas in game. Then again I think that's why they stopped having Earthshaker drop.

Excellent! Thank your for correcting me. I wasn't 100% on how the earthshaker groups worked but at least my belief wasn't terribly off. It makes total sense now with the rampage disc. Having not played a warrior up to the point where they get heavy discing I did not know about that.

But again, thank you for clarifying.
what does the corrupted ghoulbane look like?

SK epic was uber when it first came out, by todays standards it isnt that great, the effect owns tho. For as much time and trouble as you'd spend to get it you could have something better....they need to revamp Epics and make them worth something compared to todays standards. Just my 2cp
