I've been trying to use this spell with my lvl 56 Cleric and nothing happens. What the heck is going on here?

I think this spell is bugged. When I cast it says a aura is formed much like Mark of Retribution but nothing occurs after. No heals no damage nada. Am I doing something wrong? If I cast MoR on top I get the 15 damage to mob.

If we are understanding this correctly, you cast this on the mob and when you hit the mob, the spell makes the mob heal you. Will test this theory in game, but I think that is how it works.

Is this spell researchable or it drop only? In all my farming of Skyfire for my epic, I didn't see it drop from any of the mobs. If it's not researchable, looks like it's off to Sebilis. . .

This is researchable. Stick the following items in a LoY Research Tome and press combine:

- a piece of parchment
- a quill
- part of toharon's memoir pg. 18 (right side)
- rune of gale
- words of expertise

Success will yield a brand, spankin' new copy of Mark of Karn. Triv on the combine is 182.

I'm doing a lot of LDoN adventures, and I usually have this spell loaded in a gem slot that I also use for Protection of Vie and heal poison. I have heal poison loaded when we are at the trapped spot, and load Vie when it needs to be refreshed. Other than that, I have MoK loaded. When I see that all meele start to loose hps, or I see a mob that has naturalist or hierophant or something like that it name, I cast MoK, saves a lot of healing.

Well, as an epiced monk I must say this is one of the few things that actually get me to use my epic as weapon. Almost anything nowadays is better ratio etc... but if I'm down on health and the cleric MoK's the mob I can heal 4-500 hp in a 30 second fight if I use my epic. If I see a mob gleam with a pure aura I often take my 2HB off and watch my health go up rather fast. Triple hitting and dual wielding with a weapon under delay 10 (with haste) can heal you're puller up without having to directly cast on them =). And I'd say 125 mana for that much of healing, not including the other melees, or pets if they are down on health, is quite nice. On the longer fights (luclin mobs with gobs of hp and AC) this spell can save a ton of healer mana.

I agree that I wouldn't load the spell then leave it loaded throughout the fight. But if you cast it then sit and change spells to something else it is quite useful.

WASTE A GEM SLOT?!?!?! Get the clicky BP for this and hell yea its well worth it. when you rackleing mobs with DS it keeps that annoy msg off most time and like others said 6hp for the main tank isn't 2 big of a deal but for the Rog in the back who might take a lil dmg this works wunders for. saves you mana for weak healing all the other melee that might be taking random dmg from AE or the dmg shield that was on the mob b4 you got the cast off.

Extremely Useful !!

1) Removes Mobs damage shield

2) Heals for 6 pts everytime you strike a mob. For the Main Tank this ain't much, but I have found that it keeps the other folks beating on the mob in good health:-)

3) It stacks with Mark of Retribution, which ais a handy spell for mobs that strike rapidly (like the werewolf-type mobs in Mistmoore Catacombs)

People often say that 6 heal/hit is worthless, and this boggles me. For a mob that hits for, say, 300 average (500 max) that's a 2% slow eqiv. If the mob is unslowable, that 2% adds up super-fast, and might well be the edge condition between living and dying for an MA when a CH would have landed "just a bit too late".

Damage mitigation is an art, and in order to master it, you must use all of the tools at your disposal, when appropriate.

This is an extraordinarily useful spell... Not only does it strip the mob of its damage shield but heals anyone who hits the mob for 6 points.

Well I am not one of the nerds that has a fancy EQ hacker program. However; I do know this spell takes away the Damage Shield message your fighters get when they beat on the Frog Wizard ( with a frog dmg shield up ). As for healing have not had the gumption to ask the fighters to watch the HP go up as they hack away at some mob that doesnt have a dmg shield up. I often just say to the group. "Hey im on that dmg shield folks." <cast mark of karn > The message goes away and everyone is happy :)

Mark of Retribution, you cast on the MOB, and then the mob takes 15 pts damage every time it hits anyone.

THis one, If I'm not mistaken, you also cast on the mob, but it heals your group members for 6 pts, everytime THEY hit the mob.

so MOR = more damage to MOB
MOK = healing on group.

Can cast both at once, and a druid/wizard/mage can also DS the group for more non-melee damage. Great for those luclin/pop mobs with lots of HP, particularly in melee heavy groups.
