Tracking SoS mobs
# Apr 13 2008 at 6:23 PM Rating: Decent
Mobs using Shroud of Stealth will NOT appear on ranger tracking unless they cast Skylight Sagacity BEFORE hitting the track button. Casting Skylight will not change the mobs on track if the track window is already up and Skylight fading is not a concern as SoS mobs on your track list will not disapear from it until you close the track window.
Situational spell...

This is a situational spell. There are now "Invised" rogues in some of the zones that will kill you with one hit. You cannot see them without this spell.
The spell lasts long enough to target them. Once targeted you can pull em and KILL EM :).

I imagine that this helps with PVP as well.

Also this is NOT an upgrade to Owl we get a higher level spell that is an upgrade.
Skylight does stack with the mana regen line too.

This is not an upgrade for eyes of the owl. It is just a see invis spell like it says. for mobs with higher than normal invis abilities. I think in short just another nerf of the ranger. get use to it hehehe.

Okay there are 2 questions I will attempt to answer here. The first is the difference between this spell and the "Eyes of the Owl" & "Eyes of the Peregrine".

First of all, it does indeed stack with Eyes of the Owl, so I must conclude it will likely stack with it's upgrade, Eyes of the Peregrine.

Second, even tho there is no mana regen stated in the description of this spell, it filters in our spell list drop down menu ingame under mana regen. I'm fairly certain this is just an oversight or a screwup as a reult of the many changes eluded to above regarding this spell.

Finally, the difference between see invis(1) and see invis(2) certainly means that you can see more invis'd mobs or NPC's with see invis(2) than see you can with see invis(1). I can conclude this by common sense and by the description on the spell scroll. Just how well it works I am unable to say at this point, but I do plan to test it out on a rogue friend or two with them attempting to hide as well as they can when I have an opportunity to do so. As far as mobs are concerned, it will take abit more time to test thoroughly...

so they took away the archery increase and just made it see invis? does it stack with eyes of the owl? if not its a nerf until we find another way to get see invis 2

I completely understand why there's been some confusion about this spell seeming to be a very bad upgrade to Eyes of the Owl (at first it so closely resembled that buff). However, seeing as there now is infact and upgrade to Eyes of the Owl with the spell Eyes of the Peregrine and now that the spells are live we can clearly see it no longer resembles that line of spells, we should consider this spell completely on it's own.

That said, it's a spell that falls in line with some of our spells that are only useful/useable outdoors and it is basically just a short term spell that gives us an edge as detecting higher level and more effective invis and camoflauge spells and abilities.

That's pretty much it in a nitshell...
Sony has no clue what this spell is for.

If you look at the Lucy Spell View, history page, it is clear Sony has no clue what this spell is supposed to do. At various times it was an AC buff, HOT, detrimental spell, clarity spell, an hour long, three ticks in duration, for others, self only, etc. In limited viewing of the history page on Lucy spell views usually there is only minor changes in the spell like changes to the casting text, amount of mana, duration of the spell, etc., but the basic use for the spell remains the same. This one was all over the place. I think this spell will be changed again, and it is probably an error for this spell to not have an archery accuracy and mana regen component to it. But who knows what Sony was thinking.

I bought the spell. The text says: "Spell Effect: Covers your face in the mask of the forest for 0:00:18, allowing you improved vision and the ability to see creatures with enhanced invisibility. This spell can only be used outdoors." So maybe this spell won't be getting an archery accuracy mod, or mana regen after all, but I think Sony was a little confused in bringing it to being. I presume that regular see invis won't be working on some of the creatures in SOF. Further exploration for these mobs with enhanced invisibility is needed. 18 seconds is a pretty short spell duration, especially considering the recast time is pretty long. You better find what you are looking for pretty quick, not get aggro while doing it as you will have to be pretty close to the target you are scanning for when casting it, not have KOS mobs move in your way while targeting or whatever, and decide what you are going to do with the newly discovered mobs before the spell wears off. This might be a pretty challenging expansion if SOE fully exploits what this spell could be used for.
?????what is it for????

stacks with owl...but see no use for it, plus can only be used outdoors

but as far as I can see, druid wizards and us are the only ones who can do see invis 2
