-This spell is 100% unresistable in pvp.
-It will trigger Mana Flare/Resurgence.
-It doesn't show damage done, but on a player it does about 3300+ on top of burning mana.
-It can crit for 2 damage but the mana burn benefit doesn't change.

... That's pretty much it.

Good News And Bad News

The good news regarding this spell.
  • A parsing shows that this spell do approximately 8.3 (and subsequent ranks increase by .1 each) points of damage per mana point "burned" from the target, meaning that it does 3328 points of damage and strips 401 points of mana.
  • This spell, unlike our standard nuke, has a viable cast time of three seconds.
  • It can twincast.
  • The 85th level version of this spell has a Class 3 type aug that will allow this spell to do an additional 600 points of damage, which can critical cast for up to 1500.

The bad news regarding this spell.
  • This spell does not display its damage and never will.
  • This spell, despite its Chromatic resist check, is not at all enhanced by any Chromatic focus you wear. It will not remove more mana from its target with Chromatic focus (thereby doing more damage), nor will the amount of mana removed damage the mob for more than its set amount of ~8 1/3. That will also never change.
  • This spell cannot crit. Another aspect that will never change.
  • This spell will cast at least once on a mob that is not a caster-type, as even they have trivial amounts of mana. Beyond that, all bets are off. Meaning that this spell is situational, usable only on caster types with significant mana pools.

This spell has undergone some serious changes. It now does damage in addition to draining mana and it now works on all mobs. Also the resist modifier is highly suspect as it has been resisted and it has also landed on the restless alligators in Loping Plains. Another disadvantage to this spell is that the Mana Flare line of spells will not proc off this. Nor is it subject to critting. I can't think of a situation in which I would want this spell over simply nuking a mob.

The spell works only on dragons, and the description should reflect as much.

This spell, which works only on dragons, is a rip-off.
