Sometimes I ever wounder if paladins would get a similar mini-nuke like Flame of Light one day, expect one that dose more damage then this current spell we have such as the one you get when playing as the Dain (as well as that one colden pally in the 2nd dain mission since the 2nd dain is a warrior) in all those Dain Monster Missions. I'm very surprised that throughout all the expansion packs we been through, SOE never actually gave us a somewhat more powerful nuke spell then Flame of Light (excluding the nukes vs undead witch we paladins commonly have as well as those stuns that do abit of damage as well as push mobs from the direction your facing).

Got this tonight in all of 20 minutes with my 50 pal and a 56 dru... took 10 min to kill 3-4 roamers in the halls then the third AND 4th crystalline shardwurm dropped it!! All in all we had 6 kills and 6 spell scrolls drop in total (others were Wiz/Enc).
Fun spell too. More fun if recast was faster, but hey--- can't have everything.

If you have sow i would suggest useing this spell to pull for sure. Otherwise you might be better off useing a higher lvl stun like holly might. Dont use a little crappy one like cease then it wont even affect the monster and you missed a chance to do some damage before he hits you! The best time to strike is when the apponent cant strike back

SO wrong, pulling with a spell like cease, which starts you off with huge agro only a snare or like spell can out do, gets you initial agro (assuming youre tanking) AND lets you save the good stun to hit the mob once its at camp and being beat on by the group and not hitting you for the initial few seconds till its slowed, which wont out agro you because youve already stunned it twice before anyones even touched it.
simple as that, i keep up 4 stuns on my spell list, the 66 fast cast stun that lands up to lvl 70 mobs, cease (for 1 sec cast), stun (for 1 sec cast), and i froget the 67 or 68 spell that does dmg if i wanna break a mez and hit it twice with a stun to ensure agro off the chanter or for an emergency when all other stuns are down and the CH is taking too long (when mobs not hitting you, you arent taking dmg in most cases)

sorry, forgot were talking about a lvl 50 spell..hehe well thats good info for later on then. IMO, eh i never got this spell, still pulled with cease/stun, never felt bad about not getting it.

I Wholeheartedily agree with that if your going to pull use a stun its the 2nd best aggro grabber in the game or if you don't want to cast just use a bow as pallies can range. :)

Sometimes these little useless spells are great for holding aggro. Example ... flame lick lvl 9 ranger spell... really really makes mobs mad.
This can also be used to pull, doing 125 damage on inc is a great way to establish aggro very quickly.

You see thats what i'm saying keep your 2hs maxed(which should have been maxed like oh..5 levels ago?) and i guarentee that you can hit at least 125+ in one hit even with a so-so weapon and self buffs. the only way i can actually see this being helpful is if you're helping fight a tough mob thats hard to hit so you stun and throw this spell out for the dd. but if you're stuns are holding then i still think you do more with just swinging...i'm sorry to say but its pretty much usless. ;(

if at level 50 you cannot do more then 125 damage in 2.5 seconds... something is up... by this point you should be able to do more damage in 1-2 hits... at level 50 i was swinging nearly 170 damage... and I'm not uber what-so-ever.

As for pulling... use cease... best pulling spell there is, stuns the mob for a split second so you can start your run...

Bottom line - most useless spell we get besides true north is this one.

Ok, honestly, why does everyone complain about the spells that they get. SoE balances all the classes and races quite well. And i am sure that this spell at lvl 50 for a paladin is great balancing, expecialy since we get alot of GREAT undead dd's and weapon procs. Pallys are knights, and to even have spells is better then a warrior. Why complain that it only does 125 damage, who cares, that is more damage then you did at lvl 49!!

You know, just because this is a DD spell that is only 125, don;t see it as a melee dd. See it for what it is - a finish up. I am currently soloing a lot in Dreadlands. Combining this 125DD with Holy Might (60dam STUN) means I can usually kill of my prey with what? 145 Manna? Without having to have it lead me into a group of adds I may not be ready for. When your prey turns around and tries to leave, cast Holy Might and this DD - chances are good it is gonna be dead with you still in an add-free zone. I always go hunting KEI'd. I assume most Paly's at the levs to get this spell also go out KEI'd. I'd rather use a little manna than have to thwack more and more adds because a dying prey led me to others.

if it where a lvl 30 or 34 spell

ranger/beastlord/SK all get a class specific dd at lof 30's i cant see whu a paladin should be diffrent.

The should just make this a lvl 34 spell.

This spell came out a long time ago, no? If you can loot it off of the Wurms in GD...back then, it had a use, so it wasn't a novelty spell then, now, yeah, but not then...

DON"T GET IT! I've tried and tried to find a decent use for this spell, but VI has just royally screwed us over here. It's too mana intensive to pull with (use Cease as a pull spell), too mana intensive and weak to attempt to do DPS with, too mana intensive and weak to really serve any purpose.

Another novelty spell from VI. I'll use it to smack down wildlife to pass the time while waiting for the raid to start, or while farming pelts in NK cuz I'm too lazy to chase down the fleeing lions, wolves, and bears - oh my!

Otherwise, this spell pretty much useless.
