Advanced Reasearch Book
# Nov 03 2005 at 5:31 PM Rating: Decent
The advanced research book you are talking about (though by now have already found, but others might not have) is from a guy in Gunthak named Researcher Alvarikat loc +1367, +80. When you find him, as stated above, your research must be over 100, and say to him I am a Necromancer (or Wiz, Mage or Chanter) and he will give you the new book.

What gives?
A wizard can research the spell and can't use it?
The only protection he'll get is maximizing the 5 min window he gets from the regular Invis to Undead?
Wheres my aspirin. . . ?

Wizards get a different spell named Invisibility VERSUS Undead. It drops in Wakening Lands by Holgresh.

The reason you can research it is because it is used by WIS casting classes, therefor all int casting classes may research it, though most of them may not scribe it.

targetting
# Nov 13 2004 at 10:14 AM Rating: Decent
Don't be confused by spell info however. It may say "your target", but it is a self only spell. This site is right about its information, eqs scroll info isn't in game isn't.

To cast invis vs undead on others, you still must use basic invis vs undead.
Why its called improved...

Improved Invisibility spells have a set duration and won't drop at unexpected times.
question
# Aug 18 2003 at 1:08 PM Rating: Default
i know with dungeon's and dragons "improved invisibility" lets you attack and remain invis.is this spell similar?
RE: question
# Nov 06 2003 at 12:38 PM Rating: Default
No. While a lot of EQ is based off of D&D, there are a few differences. In EQ anytime you are invis (spell or hide) and you cast a spell, attack, get hit by a mob, or loot something you become visable. If it was like that the price for see invis items would shoot through the roof on PvP servers.

One case where you can remain invis... a bard's Fading Memories ability.
RE: question
# Jun 27 2004 at 7:40 AM Rating: Decent
Fading Memories does 2 things:
1) removes the bard from all hate/rampage/etc. lists of all mobs.
2) makes the bard invis til he zones OR does any of the things that normally drop invis (attack, cast, loot, etc.)

This dropped in Plane of Growth last night. Can't remember what it dropped off of, but we were killing bears (that weren't called bears), sanguine kodiaks and spirit flux wolves. Didn't kill trees or anything that looked human.
We had 2 groups with 4 people each. Both groups had a shammy (no clerics) and we were 47-54.
Zone appeared to have been cleared shortly before we got there, but there were enough leftovers to keep us busy for a couple hours.
My 51 necro got this, and 2 BDs dropped as well as stonewood mail and some class armor.
My guess is that its a rare drop off of 60+ mobs, but I can definitely confirm that it can drop in PoG.
Reseacrhable?

Does anyone know how to get the book in which to scribe spells? Must be master in research, but i dont have that skill avail to me - anyone try this yet.

Do you have to have an INT caster do this for you>?

I don't recall the name of the guy, but there is someone in the Gulf of Gunthak, in one of the huts by the lighthouse. He is in the hut, as well as his boy-servant or something. You hail him and say "I am a necromancer" or whatever class you are, and he will give you your advanced research tome--but only if your research is over 100 already. That should do ya. You need this book to make swatches for high-end tailored robes (robe of misery, robe of tempest) as well.

Only Int casters can research. The researchable wis-caster spells must be researched by an Int caster.

It says on casters realm that it may drop in GD and/or PoGrowth but no one can agree what or who drops it. Anybody have a clue?
Where can it be found?
