Disease based lifetap. Others are magic. If mobs have killer magic resist and resist lifetaps, this could be pretty kewl to have, not a must have spell as few mobs resist lifetaps though

I too would like to second the /Cheer <Krovak>.
I'm not into dominating the game but love to learn better ways to stay alive, never gave much thought to oh if magic won't work - change over to different
attack ie. fire, disease, posion etc.. I have passed
over a few spells because I thought, what the heck I already have a spell that does, a given anount of damage.

This post has opened my eyes a bit.

Thanks Krovak

Confused...

I don't understand the purpose of this spell's existence. You can get a spell at level 59 that does the same amount of lifetap for 10 mana less, and you can purchase it at a vendor in OT. Am I missing something here?

This spell is simply MADE for killing Spite Golems in PoH. I haven't found anything that works well against the Golems except for Disease, which I have never had a resist on. Throw on a couple Disease DOTs and tap with this whenever you need life. Make's soloing in PoH much more simple.

Randallr was just asking a simple question and you jump all over him. What for may I ask? Little known fact amungst the EQ elitists is that there still are people out there that play for fun and not to dominate the game and know all there is to know about it. Your entire reply could have been summoned up simple "Some mobs are very resistant/immune to magic based spells, so to work around this you use disease based lifetaps" Simple, clean, not insulting, and straight to the point. Thank you drive thru.

Thank you krovak. I wish more players took the time to HELP thier fellow adventurers versus flaming them. We would all have more fun if more people had the same attitude. That is the point of playing a GAME after all. Thank you again krovak.

#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 03 2003 at 7:44 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Dear Mr. Confused: I would venture a guess that you play on a blue server. Small things that you would not notice playing on a carebear server are very important on a PvP server. Note the following.
#REDACTED, Posted: Sep 28 2003 at 11:42 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Agreed that Zek players are much much better than blue players. Try moving back from a Zek to a blue and you get questions like "Why are you bonding your pet and then dispelling yourself." I mean come on already. Zek players don't win cause they are uba (Well sometimes it comes down to that) but who's A- Better prepared and B- More crafty. Nothing is more fun than dotting YOURSELF with diesease cloud and then taking a chanter on, with the fast cast lifetaps and a pet chasing her down (dispell your pet) she'll never know what hit her. I was accused of cheating by using that little diesease cloud trick once. That was versus another necro though.

Red server players are "better" than a blue server player? ********* There are some survival tactics you always have to wear on your shoulder because of how you play against each other, but that doesn't make you any more cunning or a better player; it just makes you paranoid.

Most of the red servers are full of jerks who think that the meaning of the game is to kill newbies whenever they see them.. yeah.. fun for the noobs.

Back to this spell. It is a great spell as mentioned before because if for some reason your other taps don't hit (extrememly rare), and his desease resistance is low, this might be a better choice. This goes along with the same logic is you cant use fire based nukes on skyfire mobs because they are just about (if not totally) immune to fire.

I find it a valid question; the times at level 60 my Taps are resisted are VERY few and rare, and normally in a raid one of the only line of spells I can rely on to stick.

PvP considerations aside as largely irrelevant to 95% of EQ players, I have to wonder WTF is up with Gangrenous Touch. Especially for the cost and difficulty of obtaining it.

Now go XP! (or gank someone you bloody Zek-heads!)

Found in Chardok...
# Dec 17 2002 at 1:10 PM Rating: Decent
My guild was hunting Chardok, specifically the royals, and we came across three of these scrolls while in there. Various mobs, and I did not see whom they fell off of but *not* on the royals themselves.

We had just finished the overking and were heading to the queen's room to set up for the duration of the raid when the first one appeared. While camped in the queen's room the other two dropped.

The funny thing was, the necromancer with us said it was a "very rare spell" the first time it dropped and it popped two more times afterward. Lucky necromancer day.

"Very rare" is always a funny thing. Was raiding old PoSky the other day with guild to get my Swirling Sphere of Color for epic, a pretty rare piece, especially considering it MQ's for 10k on Povar atm. We went one other time and not a single sphere dropped. Unbelievable. This time though, we had 8-10 (stopped counting after while) drop! I got mine first of course, then every ranger alt in the guild got one for MQ, and a couple of guests from other guilds got one for MQ with their guilds. Classic case of the RNG running amuck. lol
