Let me break down how great this spell is:

Check out the resist adjust. -1000! I've had it resist about a total of 3 times in a week of play.

You might have missed the cast time, it's 0.75 seconds.

It also has a low mana cost, only 273 base mana.

The only downside to this spell is the small 4 second recast time; it's nice, quick, reliable damage. This spell also procs the radiant mana AA's frequently too, so if I find myself low on mana, I will chain cast this until I get a radiant mana proc and follow up with a big nuke and repeat until I get a chance to recover. Damage wise, it does at least 1800-2500 normally, occasional 4000+. Crits are anywhere from 2500 to 8800. Count on this doing about 3-6% (non-crit) of a mobs health around the level that you get this.

It's a great finisher or pulling spell. Highly recommended!

I've used this spell for quite sometime now and I believe that ANY and EVERY Wizard should have this spell in their ******* at level 75. I will admit that at first glance it doesn't look like too much of a spell or even a MUST HAVE spell for that matter. But in a raid.. this spell is your best friend.
273 mana, 3 sec cast time, w/ spell focus & ro's familiar you can do about 3k dmg when the spell lands w/ fire... about 2k w/ ice dmg.. and about 3k w/ magic (which hits for more because of the spell description) Those are without crits and (with max AA crits) you can hit for about 8k. This by itself makes it a nice spell.. but what makes it a GREAT spell is that it also Triggers GoRM (gift of radiant mana). That makes Ethereal Conflaguration a very nice One-Two Punch for wizards who find that they go OOM just shortly after engaging a Raid Mob. Also, this spell creates very little aggro on mobs so there should be no problem in chain casting and hitting Concussive Blasts after a shot of Eth Conflag.
I'm not saying this is the best way to play this spell.. but it's how I play it and I think it rocks. Little mana, Fast Casting & Decent Dmg that triggers GoRM = FTW for me. Good Luck Wizzy Comrades and Keep On Nukin!!

This spell can be purchased from the pirate merchant in the Buried Sea zone for either 100 or 150 dubloons (I don't remember exactly). If you are fighting a non-elemental type mob, this will pretty much be your new kiting spell. It takes a couple less mana then chaos flame, and hits with pure wildmagic about 50% of the time. It's a really useful spell so far, and the resist check is pretty good.

prismatic resist means that the average of your resists must meet the resist check of the spell before you will resist it.

example:
if your resists are SvC 300, SvF 300, SvM 250, SvD 250, SvP 275, your prismatic resist is 275. if the spell being cast on you is resist check of 325, you'll probably get hit. if the resist check on the spell is 250, you'll have a chance to resist it or partially resist the spell.

chromatic on the other hand takes the worst of your saves in calculation the resist possibility. using the example above, if the chromatic resist on a spell is 275, you will more than likely get hit because you have 2 saves of 250. if the resist check is 225, you will have a chance to resist it. hope this helps

MUCH appreciated.

I've known for awhile what Chromatic-based resist means, but had no idea what Prismatic-based resist meant. There for awhile, I was thinking someone got confused and put Prismatic instead of Chromatic.

/salute!

This spell is not yet LIVE as it exists on the spell vendor on the BETA server only. Until the NDA is lifted I cannot say much but its a pretty cool concept I will say that.
