Incredible spell in Unrest, where everything but the werebats is undead. A cleric in this zone can actually contribute to DPS---and substantially---assuming the group doesn't require too much healing. Very mana efficient. I think this spell is underutilized a lot by clerics in their 20s.

Lots of Fizzles

I have tried using this spell repeatedly and get 5-8 fizzles in a row then quit, I have never been able to cast it even though Evocation skill is 156. Anyone else had this problem?

In my opinion, this line of spells is just too good NOT to spend some time to get evocation up. What I did was wait until my late 20s and then cast Ward Undead (lvl 18) over and over until I got to about 130 or so (put about 50 training points into it to get started...fizzle rate was just too much not to).

Then I waited until I got Expulse Undead (lvl 39) and went to Gulf of Gunthak and killed undead there...fizzled quite a bit the first level but then spells have a tendency to do that when they're new. Skill quickly went up and now at lvl 41 my Evocation is 190. Going to keep working on it - want to have it to be well over 200 by the time I get this spell at lvl 49...shouldn't be too tough to do. I definitely think one should shoot for having 200+ evocation by lvl 49 if they hope to have this spell have any kind of reliability.

BTW, I got my Divination up to about 120 at the same time I was initially working on Evocation in PoK. When I went Gunthak at lvl 39 I memmed Sense Undead and cast that before every fight...targeted mob and then nuked it. Divination is up to 167 doing this...would much rather work on getting these skills up while getting experience rather than while sitting in PoK. Just my opinion...

Yup!... I just keep casting it on lower level evocation spells on my pet. Problem is there arent enough undead to practice on. I am maxed out on ever skill except evocation.. I am 182 and still fizzle alot. I have a maxed dex too of 235.

You can get this spell from Blippo Stumbletoe at Rivervale in the cleric guild. As a matter of fact you find all level 24 cleric spells there.
