i find this spell very useful. on inc mobs it slows them almost immediatly. not like your slow that have to recast 4 times. on certain raid targets its a life saver. it may need a few recasts but it has a very low resist rate. so its prolly not a great group spell of self spell but its a great raid spell. this is a spell we get to be more useful. im grateful. a slow that lands better than anyone in game? thanks ill take one

this slow is really useful for the West tormentor in the Jelvan event in Anguish. he's very hard to slow but i believe this spell works

How does this compare to the level 2 AA Hobble of Spirits?
I am trying to decide if the pp I spent on the Rank 2 version was worth it.

Suckiest spell ever. How do you isolate the message for effect landing and for effect wearing off is separate window. (without using audio triggers. Some of us play with no audio.) I find that I need to continually cast this silly spell just because I have no clue when it wears off, and only a marginal clue when it lands (Hard to see the spell land message amidst all the other pet proc spam.)

I really want to believe there is some utility to this spell other than on mobs that happen to drop in less than a minute and with groups that happen to have a shammy slower anyway.

(On the other hand, I do actually use promised mending quite freqently. go figure.)

you can create new text boxes and filter the spells wearing off to the new window to make it more easily viewable, and/or you could try changing the color of the spells wearing off message to make it more easily viewable.

i myself would just use the audio triggers cause it would be easier. you can have all the sounds still off except for audio triggers. Not sure if you use the default UI or not but if you look at the Holy Blade screenshot in my signature you can see how I myself create lots of text boxes (with transparent backs) .. so maybe just experiment with those options for a while?

youll probably want at least one other type of messages in the same box as the spells wearing off messages, so that the box isnt just 1 message or else you cant really tell when it wears off (no diff colored messages between them to speperate the text), maybe put it in a box with spells ? i myself use the box above my main chat box for spells info (mine, others, skills). Creating new text boxes takes out a lot of the spam from the main chat box, so you could possibly even try leaving the wear off message in the main box.

Notice I have a window called TRS which i keep completely closed at all times, i filter other's melee info to that box along with some other stuff i consider spam, that way i can still parse other peoples DPS without having to actually be spammed with the messages. I filter shout and OOC to trash text box too usually hehe.. and the stupid melee warnings filter cause i hate that dang "your target is too far" message

Unless something has changed in the last 2 months (last time I played around with this) here is how it works.

It proc's on the mob. When it fades, It also fades off your warder (the buff icon will poof out of the pet buff window) And it reports in the same place as all of your other "has worn" reports go.

I find that it lasts an extremely shot time, extremely. And I would not keep it up in my spells lists at all (thus why I don't)

Peace

Well, thinking out of the box, I got an idea. I guess if someone accidently cast a 3 minute slow spell on themselves, I could /duel 'em, send in the pet to proc steeltrap and get the slow spell to fade a little faster.

So we can think of Steeltrap as a special purpose Slow-only debuff with a 1 minute cast timer.

Yes this buff is bugged... what it seems to be doing is when the slow fades off the mob the buff is being removed off the warder...

Reported... should be fixed anytime btw now (they are patching now) and never.

actually...the pet can proc up to 2 times with this buff...once it procs those 2 times the buff is removed from the pet and you have to recast it
WACK

This spell is as wack as the people who made up this spell
Think duration is buggued
# Oct 11 2006 at 3:46 PM Rating: Decent
This spell is buggued, and fades very quickly instead of staying active 10 mins ( Or <> 13 mins if u have extended duration spells focus and aas ).
I think this will be fixed in some future patch. ( I hope !!! ).
I already reported the bug of the Steadfast Servant, whose haste (STW) staid 3.30 mins instead of 15 mins. And they recently fixed that a month ago.
Proc lasts a minute
# Sep 25 2006 at 7:46 AM Rating: Decent
The proc lasts for a minute which is not much different from the BST slows and its a relatively low mana spell. The proc stacks with damage procs like Oroshar but not with pet snare proc, which is annoying.

I have to agree this spell seems to be pretty darn useless.

If you look at the slow effect, it only lasts for a few ticks.

In my opinion the Dot which does close to 700 points of damage per tick seems like something I would much prefer to waste my mana on.

This is not bad

Ok i have been testing this spell duelling my alt. It goes off between 2 and 4 times before it drops. Seems totally random as to whether its 2 or 3 or 4 procs and has nothing to do with whether it lands or not. It will be quite useful i reckon; you cast this on pet when mob is inc or you are about to engage a raid mob. This gives 2 advantages:
Firstly you can dps instead of casting slows
Secondly the slow from proc is better than BST slow and less likely to be resisted

If the slow hasn't landed after 2 to 4 procs the mob will probably be already dead or, incase of raids, slowed by a shaman.

Good spell? No...

Worst idea I have ever seen in EQ and I have played since 1999...

You cast it on your pet it stacks with other proc lines but only lasts 12 minutes or until it goes off once then you must recast it on your pet...

So you need to keep your 70 slow handy.

And once cast it requires your pet to proc to stick and can be resisted so you must cast on your pet again hoping to get him to proc again to see if it sticks...

This is the worst spell I have seen todate...
