Best way to raise at 65+

There are a lot of methods described online, but in today's EverQuest with high HP and regen, and permanent enduring breath, this is the best way I've found. It's a variation of Maddoctor's post from 2010 with a couple more specifics.

First, make a macro. 4 lines of "/pause 120, /doability #" and 1 line of "/doability #" but change "#" to the right number for Bind Wound. (Set it up in your Actions window; #1-6 are on your <Ctrl-A> Abilities page, #7-10 are on your <Ctrl-C> Combat page.)

Now, in Plane of Knowledge, go to Vuli Ironstove. They're on the eastern side of the main area. Buy a bunch of bandages; they're 5pp for 100 and stack up to 1,000 these days. It's the closest vendor to the next step.

Just a few steps to the south is the Herald of Druzzil Ro. Say "time" to go the Plane of Time. A few steps from you will be the portal that you can click to go to the Void - keep this in mind. Make sure no one's near it. Pull some mobs to beat on you, like the Mystical Griffons nearby. They're level 64, so the higher than 64 you are, pull more. Go near the Void portal while they beat on you. Repeatedly hit your "sit" hotkey until you're low on health, then click on the portal.

Now you're in a safe area - target yourself and use the macro to bandage yourself 5 times. Do this until you're almost full health. Then portal back to Plane of Time and repeat until you've maxed Bind Wound!

High Level Equipment Removal Method

For anyone trying to work on their Bind Wound at higher levels (I'm currently L100, but I suspect this will work for almost anyone post 60 or or so...perhaps even lower, with Defiant gear):

As a monk, a number of the 'old' techniques don't function very well for me. Lava damages too slowly to overtake my natural regen; gotta take off helmet (due to EB focus) and drown forever due to my AA's for lung capacity; with safe-fall at nearly 500 I can't really take damage that way; and dueling someone isn't always an option.

A decent suggestion, instead, is to remove all/most of your armor and then replace a few pieces. Your HP after re-equipping will leave you with enough damage to hit Bind Wound a good few times. Rinse and repeat any time you heal up to full.
The extra cherry is that this can be done anywhere, with minimal effort - next to a bandage merchant; out in the wild; or hiding in your guild hall - and should never put you in danger of death.

Happy bandaging!

Take a bot with no flagging for the ae blocker for this zone their hp will be perma locked below 80 if you have the aa's for it you can keep bandaging them.

Just thought I'd add my experience. Level 47, trying to do Hero's Journey and to get the achievements for all skills (non tradeskill) at max at level 50. Bind wound is by far the worst. My current skill cap for bind wound is 260 and I think it will be 300 at 50, although I'm not sure since there is so little information about skill caps on the lesser skills.

I started keeping track at 194. From 194 to 221 took 25 stacks. That's almost a stack per skillup.
From 221 to 247 took 39 stacks. That's 1.5 stacks per skillup.

Not looking forward to 247 - 260, then the level 48, 49 and 50 cap :(

I am max int and wis for level, 255.

As a LVL 85 Cleric I never have used this skill and I missed being able to fall off things where I am severly damaged but alive. So this is how I am getting skill-ups:

-Get about 20 rolls of bandages
-Enter Time from POK
-Take off all spells that act as protection
-Head South to the Swail
-Target a mob and stun them
-Run behind the VOID portal
-Let the mob beat the tar out of you till you are about 5%
-Zone into the VOID and bandage away!

Any skill-up over 200 has been slow.

HOPE THIS HELPS

If you are maxxed on this with all the AA available what's the most you heal per bandage?
Dueling for Bind Wound improvement.

Remember if you're dueling you have to end duel in order to skillup.

You can no longer jump off anything I could find in PoK to sustain damage.

Bind wound

Your target is the one you are binding. You can only bind wounds of players. If you target yourself, you bind your own wounds.

If your a mage and summon bandages then go and find a ledge to jump off and that way you can work on maxing both bind wound and conjure skill.
Cruddy
# Oct 19 2004 at 3:06 PM Rating: Decent
Another easy way to learn the skill is when you are about lvl 20, go fight in Paludal. Once you have a nice case of Creaping Crud, don't cure it. That stuff lasts for about 40 minutes unless cured, and it's slow. Perfect for BW practice.

Max Bind Wound

Thank you Sony!! Upping BW to 70% is great, no reason for anyone not to be able to mend themselves. My monk at lvl 42 is 205 BW. Well what selfrespecting monk doesn't travel w/ at least 1 stack of bandaids :D
PoK
# Dec 30 2003 at 2:13 AM Rating: Good
Ok, ok, I know everyone has already said this a million times, but jumping off of a ledge really is the best way. PoK works very well actually, just run up to the top of the stairs (the stairs leading to the top of the library...the ones by the main bank) And then jump off until about 1-5%, then BW up to 50, and repeat...There are 3 great things about doing this in PoK...

1.) There are bandage dealers everywhere in PoK, so if you run out, it's a 30 second jog and back

2.) Since there are steps, you can choice how much damage you wish to deal to yourself, ranging from about 250, to around 10.

3.) If you die, from jumping too high (which I did...ONCE) Then there's no worries about finding a rezzer, since they're everywhere! When I got my rez, the nice lady didnt even charge, she just told me that she'd give me a 96% rez if I told her how I managed to die in PoK lol...was quite funny...

And there you have it...PoK is the best BW place in the game...thanks for reading, I'll be here all week...

=)

Check this out this skill is WAY easy to learn if you have a trust worthy freind you can duel your way to max or a good cliff to jump off of. I'm a 2 boxer so I can just cast on my melee toons. Any how get your hp's to about 2-3% and then BW tell 50% keep doing this untel you get bored. If your looking for a good way to get the bandages go to the Bazzar or your local tinker and get a gauze press they might be a little spendy but worth it. You get 20 charges and you can recharge them with a mana battary in a tool box. The battary is about 9-11pp depending on your cha at a vendor but then you don't have to carry bags of bandages to your skilling site, and you don't have to make trips to the local bandage dealer..
Love it

Hey I am a Ranger and I know most people who are hybrids think "oh well I have healing spells I don't need this skill" Well your wrong this skill has saved my life several times and I am really loving it. Its also very easy to get up, Just buy some bandages get a ledge and keep jumping off it will go up in no time. I encourage ANYONE to get this life saver now especially because of the AA First Aid you cam bind wound to 90% health. I really am tellin everyone not to let this skill get down.

Just an add, get poisoned, if low enough, from a spider. Then jump off ledge. Keep bandaging, while poison is drawing! Builds skill faster, if ye don't keel o'er.

Just dinged 51 and flew to trainer to get the skill up that would allow me to BW above 50 percent, and the dang trainer says I am already more skilled than she... I even tried the other trainer. Man, how frustrating can you get? Hope someone out there can tell me what I'm doing wrong.

RE: BW Skill
# Apr 11 2003 at 5:55 PM Rating: Excellent
Tradeskills won't let you go over 21 with training points, it sounds like Bind Wound has a similar restriction. They want you to learn bind wound the hard way obviously, so start bleeding and bandaging!!!

It's not that hard to get it up, my Warrior has a BW of 200 and he's dumb as a stump.
Life Saver
# Feb 07 2003 at 10:32 AM Rating: Decent
I am currently a 53 Monk (But I often play my Beastlord instead cause they're so fun, hehe)
And my skill in this is 205, and I have 2 AA points in First Aid (My third would have gone to First Aid, but I went with popular opinion and put it into run1... what a waste) anyways, I can bandage to 90% Hps, and it helps a LOT when soloing. At level 51 I took the Bats in Sol B because I could bind my wounds inbetween each fight. (Stonestance helped a bit for accidental double-pulls or adds.)

I advise any Monk to frequently practice this skill, and buy yourself an Anizok's Gauze Press so you can summon 400 bandages before having to recharge it! Great skill, great.

Skill level / 4.

So a skill level of 80 would be 20 HP per bandage.

Cap at 210 for some?
# Jul 19 2002 at 7:17 PM Rating: Decent
Brendil on CT seems to have capped at 210 as a level 60 druid. Went thru 15 stacks without another up and has wisdom maxxed. So I would say post-51, it's going to be 210 for non-monks, at least for druids.

Make no mistake about it, being able to band-aid your group up can definitely save lives. Take bandages with you anywhere, everywhere, all the time. Work this skill whenever possible and appropriate.

If your a dual weilding melee class, get some Embalmers skinning knives.
They drop of of Cara in ToFS.

They can be dual weilded and really help to get free bandages!

Most I got was assisting some monk on a Sonic Bat (I asked first and let him know I was doing it becase I needed bandages) I got 5 stacks!

I kept 60 bandages for myself then gave 40 to the monk.

Great for soloing.
These knives ROCK for the skill.
Two CP, and a bit of advice
# Apr 04 2002 at 11:24 AM Rating: Excellent
IMHO, this is a critical skill for any tanking class, and is of immense use to tank hybrids. My 23rd level paladin has maxed his bind wounds for his level, and actually can bandage himself for more HP than his top healing spell! So, if he gets way down in HP, I bind to half, then assuming I have a good deal of mana available, can typically heal him most of the rest of the way to full. As a result, he has very little down time. When grouped, he requires virtually no healing except during battles when he's the group's main tank.

For a warrior, it's also nice to be able to get yourself at least to half health when solo. The problem with being a warrior though, is that typically, your INT and WIS will both be below 80, which will seriously hurt your skillup rate. Regardless, since you can't cast heals, you'll want to do anything you can to make yourself more self-sufficient.

Finally, for ANY class, having bind wounds can be a real life-saver. At the end of a nasty pull, you may find your group's healers oom. If you have anyone in the group below a bubble of health, they are a mob magnet. Being able to quickly bandage them over the one-bubble mark can be invaluable to avoiding "vulture mobs"

One other thing: You can successfully bandage someone even while they are in melee! As long as they don't deliberately walk forward or backward during your bandage, you'll be successful. A couple of oom casters with 100 skill can keep their tank going for a good while with 25-point band-aids each.
