Combat Agility

This passive ability increases your melee avoidance by 2%. Melee avoidance is the component of armor class that allows you to avoid incoming attacks and is derived from agility, item avoidance and your defense skill. Requirements: Level 55, No Previous ability requirements. (SoL 3 ranks 2-4-6) (PoP 5 ranks 3-3-3-3-3)

Well I'm a level 56 druid soloing in Acrylia Caverns, and have maxed this to level 3. I noticed a big difference when I'm fighting (vs root 'n rotting), they miss me more often and so I take less HP AND get more spells off. This is great for a druid.

Ok, well after close inspection (that's even after 3 cups of coffee) I have come to the conclusion that this skill is a JOKE. In fact, after I wasted 3 days of my life and spent the 12 points to get this maxed out, I'm almost doing WORSE! Here's what i observed..As a 56 monk I usually solo in PoJ in that square shape hallway right after coming out of the Gy when LFG..Now at lvl55 and 56 before having this skill maxed out, on any given day when no one else was fighting there I could usually take the 2 Sentries that roam, a rat or 2, and at least 3 or 4 of the non-caster NPCs that are in the cells before I had to sit and bandage myself. Now AFTER getting this skill maxed out, that's to lvl3, fighting 2 of the sentries takes me to about 25% HPs! Then I'll bandage myself to about 60 0r maybe 70%, what I would normally be at BEFORE i got this skill maxed after fighting 2 Sentries, and go fight some of the mobs in the Non-casters in the cells. Now like I said, I used to be able to fight at least 4 of those mobs before having to sit and heal, Usually the centaur, Barb, ogre, and the vah shir or Dark Elf chick. After fighting the centaur, which would usually take 10% of my HPs on one of it's good days, takes me down 30%. So now im at about 40% HPS..what the hell, ill go try another, these things are usually laughable, as long as they don't nuke or heal. I go and fight the Barb, he takes me down to 10%. Still much WORSE than usual. I happen to notice that a Sentry is up already, which is odd, beacuse I'm used to having all of the non-caster mobs killed before they spawn. So I bandage up to 60% and go for it. The thing is down to 20% and I am given the option to either FD or use my last Healing Potion, I decide to use the potion, and even after using that, I still was at 5% Life when finishing the fight.

No, I did'nt have any other buffs on any other day, I would normally just have the EPoP haste, Grim Aura and Virtue on when soloing here. No, I'm not exagerating, even though this isn't worth paying that much attention to, i'm just pointing out that this skill seems to either be BROKE, or do NOTHING. No, i'm not whining, even though this skill took me over a week to max out, and hey, if people can whine about BREAK-UPS, i can whine about a GAME, right?

I'm beginning to think that AA's kind of have the same purpose that long camps and raids have...To attract the player's attention to get them to try it, and make them play the game more, thus paying more money by playing longer. Another thought, maybe a little crazy, is that AA's and special AC/stat bonuses only seem to work for the "uber" people, that are in High rank guilds, or their alts. Perhaps these people get special attention, Therefore get more bonuses from maxed out stats or AA's.

The point I'm really trying to make from this is this: Unless the higher level upgrades of this skill and any other (Haven't noticed a huge difference in Combat Stability either) really do work, DO NOT waste your time on it. It is a JOKE, and does absolutely NOTHING, except for possibly making your character do WORSE.
