I've made the standard seafarer's cutlasses and been very pleased with them, but have had no luck in finding the actual recipe for the enchanted ones - anyone know?
Enchanted seafarer's cutlass = Enchanted metal (I assume this is enchanted silver, gold or other bars) + Curved blade mold + Hilt mold + Pommel mold + Sea temper + Black pearl
From allakhazams main web page links for smithing recipes
I'm going to look at the web sites, but I include the following so you can see the difficulties involved, and that it is probably futile, unless someone has discovered a recipe. So many recipies, be happy with what we know. I may modify this post if I find something.
Seafarer's Cutlass = Medium quality folded sheet of metal + Curved blade mold + Hilt mold + Pommel mold + Flask of water 1HS damage 7 del 23 wt. 7.0 class: Warrior Ranger Paladin Shadowknight Bard rogue. Races: all
you will need to enchant the medium quality block of ore that you make the mq folded sheet metal from (available at High Hold Keep), and I don't think I have ever seen a recipe for this. I don't think you can forge med quality folded sheets.
Even known enchanted recipes require level 50 enchanter spells.
Here are my notes on enchanting in general:
Enchanting (what you need to know, so you can quit fretting about doing this for a long time into the future): Enchanted armor is very problematic as enchant metal spells are not all figured out yet. You will likely be level 200 before you attempt it, and once recipes are figured out, it will still likely be a rarely smithed item. There are people that talk about trying enchanting and imbuing armor (BOTH!), but no details are reported, and it is not clear if any has actually had a success. The different races make decidedly different armor, with decidedly different components. The armor is race specific in regards to the smith, not the wearer, so pay attention to class/race lists for each type of armor to see who your buyers are. Enchanting discussed under individual races. It is separate from imbuing. Once you look at race specific recipes this will become obvious. Jacinth is needed for enchanting spells. It is a rare gem, drop from high level mobs 45+, Dino in OoT or Hate / Fear planes. Has been seen on vendors (Jacinth) in the Rathe Mountains being sold by the Gypsies or one of the Inns, either Ogre or Human. Spell component vendors also I think. I doubt it is a regular stock item.
ENCHANTING ARMOR NOTES: conjectures! Enchanting chainmail: conjectures: Have an enchanter use Enchant Steel on the large bricks prior to making rings. The spell requires a Jacinth and the Ore to work. Enchanted metal (silver, electrum, plat, gold) Barbarians (Human Qeynos forge): This is different in that enchanting precious metals is straightforward. You choose one type of metal, get it enchanted. Cost data for the armor does not include the enchanted metal as it will range for 5g to 110pp. You will have to pay an enchanter to get the metal enchanted. This is a very time consuming process. Silver is 525c, Electrum 2.6pp, Gold 11pp, Platinum 105pp. Enchant Silver is a level 8 spell, enchant electrum is level 16, enchant gold is level 24. I do not know the level for enchant platinum. Charisma can give has huge cost savings. Precious metals are generally, but not always available at jewelry shops. On west coast of Norath, this would be Ironforge Estates in North Qeynos. There is a jewelry shop in High Hold Keep, not sure if they sell bars of metal. A jewelry shop is in basement of main temple in Erudin.
Enchanting Steel: Alderon Brell server writes: An enchanter can cast enchant steel on a brick of HQ ore, giving an enchanted brick of HQ ore. Each spell takes a jacinth, a rare drop gem, that apparently vendors sell for about 1pp (when one has been sold to them)
Some examples of race specific instructions: repeated under race in more detail. Enchanted Full Plate Armor (Human Qeynos forge): Bars of metal need to be enchanted, along with the High Quality folded sheet metal. Otherwise the recipes are the same as for full plate.
Enchanted Dwarf Armor: Making enchanted Brellium (Dwarf) Armor: L. Enchanted Large Brick of Brellium: enchant a large BRICK of brellium (12.4pp) and a jacinth.. This is a level 49 ENCHANTER spell and consumes the Jacinth (a rare gem dropped by mobs). M. Enchanted Block of Brellium: THREE enchanted large bricks of brellium (yes 3 jacinths) + 1 Dwarven ale in the Stormguard forge. (cost 36pp plus market cost of 3 Jacinths, listed as 1pp in Jewelry guides??) N. Enchanted FOLDED sheet of brellium: Enchanted block of brellium, dwarven ale, and a DWARVEN smithy hammer in the stormguard forge. O. Enchanted Brellium Rings: Enchanted LARGE BRICK of brellium (jacinth number 4) (small bricks are wrong), a file, and dwarven ale in the stormguard forge. P. Enchanted Brellium Chain Joining: Enchanted Brellium Rings and add file, dwarven ale and a DWARVEN smithy hammer, combine in the stormguard forge. Q. Make your armor, Bracer: 1 Plate Bracer mold, 1 Earthern Temper, 1 Leather Backing, 1 DWARVEN smithy hammer, 1 Enchanted FOLDED sheet of Brellium, 1 Enchanted Brellium Chain Joining NGEddie has 220 wisdom and 207 Strength and a skill level of 186, he failed (got “you lacked the skill”) but this does confirm the recipe for enchanted brellium armour. Note that you will need FOUR jacinths for one sheet items, SEVEN for 2 sheet items and TEN!!! for 3 sheet items. The limiting factor was not the jacinths but the lava rock need for the earthen tempers.
Note on enchanting (Elven) Mithril: The recipe does not specify enchanted Mithril, but that may be assumed. The spell enchant mithril calls for a blue diamond, anyone know if this is purchased or dropped, and where? Sebilis, and plane of hate is reported. You can buy blue diamond in FV for about 210pp. The diamond is consumed when it is enchanted. May need large brick of enchanted mithril if pattern followed.
Barbarian can wear medium (lighter), so preferable.
Large at Everfrost ramp into Halas, two tent area, inside the cave.
If troll or orge need large, will also need to get someone to buy for you at everfrost zone, or go to Feerott Orge merchant, Murga, at loc 1140, neg 1130.
Also in the Feerrott: as you exit Oggok, take the right fork headed south, and you come to a bridge if you stay on the road. Don't cross the bridge, but rather, turn to the right, and there are a couple huts there, and one vendor sells large molds.
Can medium qulaity ore just be bought from those couple vendors or does it drop from MOBs anywhere? It would certainly be nice to loot it and get xp rather than going broke paying for it.
MQ ore is purchase only, only in 3 places in the world: Steamfont, Highpass, and Rathe Mountains. HQ ore, on the other hand, is looted off of goblins in Permafrost and Solusek's Eye, possibly others.
I was planning on trying my first plate at 175, but got eager and tried bracers and vambraces at 168. Both succeeded, but I'd still suggest you get to 175 first. Contrary to what many people say, it shouldnt cost too much to get from 135 to 175. Cost me about 250pp I think, although I didnt keep close track. Sell a few sets of banded and start skilling up... and good luck
168 is the bare minimum, but experts agree that 175 is the best time to start with Fine Plate armor. If you know of a merchant that has infinite sheets of metal, like Qeynos Hills, then that is the place you should go to get to 175. Trust me, buying the metal sheets is a lot more economical and time-conserving then making them yourself.
Make Fine Plate bracers until they become trivial at 186, then make either Breastplates or Leggings until 200+; there is no other way, unless you want to waste time/effort/money/sanity on the cultural (non-imbued/enchanted) stuff...
Can this be used for anything? I have seen no mention of Troll armour and I cannot use it to make any standard items, and so trundle off to Oggok to use the forge there. Does it serve anypurpose at all?
When I whined to a guide one night his response was it would be used to make cultural armor. Since trolls can wear the oger stuff...it may be the same receipies...but dat make dis trollie sad to wear anything dat says ogre...
Come on, someone try it. Use the mithril bits recipie as a guide. What is it, two pieces of ore and some liquid? Ogre swill instead of morning dew? Whatever is equivalent to neriak nectar and morning dew, not the temper equivalent to moonlight temper. Try it as a troll in the troll forge. Remember that mithril bits are produced by tree elves, not high elves, so there is probably a similar relation between trolls and ogres. If you actually make a trollish sewing kit from them, I will pay well.
Can only Iksar shamans who worship cazic thule make the Mystic Cabilis scale armor or can anyone who worships that god and is a smithe? I know that a shaman has to imbue the amber but do they need to make the armor itself?
Is there any way to be able to do more then 1 cultural set for a race.
For exemple, are Erudite able to make Barbarian and Human stuff (like VI told us too) or is this all strictly race oriented ?
Im currently a Human blacksmith, and with 176 pts reached, i kinda hope not to have to start all over again only for the little claymore that caught my eyes in the barbarian set.
I am having trouble combining Seafarer's Ringmail in the Freeport Forge...could it be that banded mail molds are wrong? Is there a specific "chainmail pattern" set that is different from banded molds? If so, where can they be found, please?
Can Meduim Quility Ore Be looted ANYWHERES i have looted tons and tons of HQ ORE out of many places but never MQ ore maybe im over looking a zone or missed a zone that drops it if anyone knows pls leaves a message here or e-mail me maxie@infoblvd.net Thank you
Medium quality ore can be bought from 2 vendors...one at the center windmill in Steamfont, the other from a vendor right outside of the goblin mines below Highkeep. These are regular vendor inventory items, they are always there, as many as you want to buy.
Here we go again. Mists:- Elementals such as Najena Mist, Steamfont Steam, or EC Air - Level 10 or up. Moonlight:- Mistmoor Vampires or some Kithicor Undead - Level 40 ish?
Well, I have attained through blood sweat and tears, all the necessary componants for this piece of armor, by my own skill and hand in battle. It was not easy, but now i find myself more than a little frightend to combine them. Before i take the plunge and click one last time...can someone tell me wether or not a skill of 181 has a remote possibility of success. i have little trouble with the standard Teir'Dal chain. Much Appreciated Lothe Heretic Fennin-Ro

From one smith and frustrated Heretic to another, I'd say...wait. Wait until you have a 200 skill, or brive a Verant GM. I don't need to imagine the terror, pain, frustration, and money needed to get the items necessary, and I myself would wait until I had a 200+ skill, at least at the level where the non-imbued tunic is trivial.
Hello all, Has anyone sucessfully smithed anything with velium in it? Are we all stuck on the Velium Temper? I believe that the Velium Temper is Coldain Ale. I just don't know where to find it or make it. I am also under the impresion that Coldain Ale is Dwarven Ale with "Globs of Slush" in it (In place of the water or added to the ale I don't know). Can anyone help me out with any of this? I play on the Povar server. I am out of "globs of Slush" (Foraged in SoV as water). And I am out of Foraged Velium ore (Looks like a lightstone). My E-mail is Sarahflake@juno.com Thanks, Sarah
Still broken as of this post, maybe Tuesday it'll be fixed? I'm ready for any surprizes they throw at me, I have 178 smithing, 135 brewing, 122 pottery skills, let them try and make velium temper something tricky. I'm READY!
all indications at this time is that velium ore is for high level jewelers, post platinum. I have a pair of wis 6 plat jewelry, and wis 7 velium jewelry. I need to sell the wis 6.... goofed, I wouldn't have paid out the the big bucks for the 7 stuff if I remembered I had the +6
heh... all to push my skilling up leveling a bit. In retrospect a waste of that much money, point of diminishing returns passed!
Really. That info is not new at all. In game info is easy to find, and there is even a smithing guide here at Allakhazam's site. It's under the "Skill" link to the left.
I have been asking people for the /loc of where they find them. At first nobody even looked at that. But since I have been spending alot of time in that zone doing smithing a few of the newbes that get the leaves for me have given me the locations. So far out of 9 locations none match. It seems to be random.
No they are not Random, but they are rare and people do collect them. You are unlikely to find them all at once unless you get on right after a reset. The locations are listed on someones webpage as I have been told this by several people. However I found the 7 spots I know off by investigation. Last I was told there are 11 known spots. I have about 50 to 60 leaves at the moment after losing my first 30 to a game bug. Maybe I will get you the locs later, but I dont really hunt these leaves, I just check the spots when I am in Gfay.
First spot - right of nearest tree as you come down pod. Second - follow from this spot to first small tree (it sort of behind the newbie lift tree). Third - on from here to next tree in front. Fourth and Fifth - Turn round, go to pod and keep going to 3 trees in a row. Both are by the middle tree. Sixth - turn right and follow dip towards Orc lift. As the trees enclose on you again its on the right. Seven - Tree between Orc and Pod lift. Some newbie will always pick this one up the moemnt it spawns though. Good luck Seagull
Go to Castersrealm and look up Find that dye, it has all the loc's for evergreen leafs and also tells you where to look for the other color's, good luck

Maybe I haven't been reading the recipes properly or missed something all together. When my high elf cleric tries to combine all the pieces together in the appropriate racial forge in Felwithe, I get the does not combine message. Let me give an example of the recipe for the breast plate:
Anyone else having same problem or can tell me what part of this I have wrong? Someone also was trying to tell me that you have to enchant the mithril before you start smithing, so you end up with enchanted-imbued armor in reality instead of imbued. It does seem a bit odd to me, that you would have to enchant the mithril first, before crafting it into imbued. I seem to remember that this type of smithing was supposed to be either enchanted or imbued, not a combination of both. Purpose of enchanted was to allow people that didn't follow a diety the opportunity for some magically smithed armor but not bought by everyone. The high cost of blue diamonds would seem to prevent any real smithing market. I'm just trying to find some rationality behind things, I would think the purpose of making enchanted very expensive would be to prevent everyone affording to equip themselves with some decent pre-planes armor (face it, alot of the quest armor sucks). Making imbued armor already limits the amount of characters that can use due to religion, so market ends up with a limited client base. But to compound both enchanted and imbued, just seems ridiculous. If you narrow the market by combining both religion based and then also wealth based, there would be no point to even bother. I know my cleric, which I don't intend to take to the planes since already been there with 2 other characters for about 113 trips, would just drop it altogether, and just keep doing what she is doing now, hunting mainly in kunark and velious.
As far as I can tell you've mixed up the weapons/shields with the armor. The imbued emerald is only shown on the shield and falchion, not on the racial plate armor. I'm not sure if there is an "enchant mithral" spell, but if there is you need to enchant the metal before folding it. Otherwise your recipe looks correct minus the imbued emerald.
ok i need some help with these blue diamonds. i have made full suits of tier dahl chain and plate ( non-enchanted )and am ready to move up. i have read numerous sites that say they are for sale in fv but after several carefull searches of all vendors i have found none. can someone please post the vendors name in fv where they are sold (its possible i missed one but went thru twice). any help in this is greatly appreciated.
I read somewhere on a site that Elf, Goblin blood are used. What for? I am doing shouts to buy dyeing items and people are trying to sell them to me. but now I can not find their use. Also what are the lava rocks for? I got 3 of them pretty cheap. Thanks
Check the brewing recipies for the temper ingredients. Unlike the actual armors they're used in, anyone can brew the tempers, and there may be some smiths that are grateful to you for doing this for you...greatful enough to throw sacks of money at you, hopefully! ;)
Elven Blood is for Tier`Dal (Dark Elf) smithing, goblin blood is for Barbarian smithing. These bloods are used for Shadow and Frost Tempers, respectively.
I have searched this site for the info. But it has conflicts to it. One page says that Sarcoscypha fungus makes yellow armor. The second page states it makes Berry Red. Does anybody have first hand knowledge of the correct color?
I am a master smith, and I have a dwarven friend who wants a set of FS plate armor. Where can I get the molds? The medium ones are in Freeport. Do I have to go to Kaladim? Does anybody know for SURE where they are?
You can find small molds in Neriak 3rd Gate. In the walled in courtyard with the Teir"dal forge. They also have the med chain pattern just past the outer most wall.
Ack, I lied, I get too confused sometimes... small find plate molds are found in North Kaladim at Everhot forge. Sorry about the SF post, those are banded molds.
North Kaladim is where the Small Molds are, Can't remember the name of the place though, if you zone into SK and at the T make a right, follow the path over the water and you will go down another tunnel, once you zone I think its the first building on the left with the forge next to it.
Another thing about silk threads: like silk swatches, you never fail at making them. Now, if only the same could be said for the paddings themselves...
Collecting the pelts is child's play, too; take your threads and a skinning knife, as well as your sewing kit, and head to the Karanas. Lions and such seem to be either mutating or really fat, as they drop 1-3 pelts of varying qualities very commonly. If they drop more than 1, at least one of them should be quality.
Can it be done? If all the different races recipies are the same, assuming you switch the metal, gem, and temper to the proper race. I have tried all combonations, and can not seem to make any imbued ogre war plate. If anyone has info about this please let me know.
