Seriously though, three cheers for the lifting of alignment restrictions! Being Discordant, sometimes I want to heal or SoW a Baddie if he already did me a favor.

And cheers for the lifting of the language limit. I usually spend days in the same zone with my Elf friends, but don't learn much of his language for no good reason.

The growth of inter-lingual trading was spurred on by the addition of chat channels. The language you speak on a channel does not matter, as it all comes across plainly. One of the most popular trade channels on our server is "market".

  • To join a channel type:
  • /join <name of channel>
    Example:
    /join market

  • To leave a channel type:
  • /leave <name of channel>
    Example:
    /leave market

  • To speak in a channel type:
  • /# <your message> (where # is the number of the channel)
    Example:
    /1 Blacksmith selling fine armors

Without the limitations of language or location, the market channel is becoming the standard for trading on our server. If you're ever looking for a purchase or even just bored, remember:
    /join market

    High level woes

    Hi ladies and gents,

I've heard horror stories from other servers -- about high level characters signing up on a WAITING LIST to kill monsters, big guilds effectively SHUTTING OUT LITTLE GUILDS by besieging choice areas, etc. Some people understandably quit the game in disgust when they encounter that behavior.

Is Firiona Vie like that? I'm hoping not, since it's a new and underpopulated server, and players are limited to one character.

I'd like to hope that waiting lists and such would not happen on FV because they aren't /roleplay. (or at least, the dullest /roleplay imaginable - who wants to play manager in a fantasy world?) Isn't acknowledging in-game that a particular monster spawns once a day comparable to acknowledging the little man behind the curtain?

Honestly, I'd like to know now before I invest any more time in my character. I really like her, but don't want to waste my time with her if she is doomed to suffer the same bureaucratic manure that I do in real life.

And if the waiting lists and guild filibustering are present on Firiona Vie, are there ways around it? Can a character have a good time and reach level 60 while avoiding those things?

    Initial impressions and Language Question

    Hail and well met.

I am new on this server, and after 8 months and 40 levels on my main, I have to say that it is a refreshing change from the frantic pace and irritating chatter of the regular servers.
I have always been interested in enchanters, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to play one that I can't twink. And I have to say that it's a challenge.

I have two problems and one question. The first problem, and Im not complaining at all, is that with the change in experience up to level 10, I didnt have anywhere near enough time to save the cash to by my 8th level spells, and I haven't even gotten all of my 4th level spells yet. The gnolls around Qeynos are stingy with their money... It's part of the fun of the game, but I dont remember it being this hard.

Second, I decided to be a High Elf Enchanter, even though my friends were playing as humans. I've have worked hard at learning the human language and at my current level 8, I am maxed out on Human. I can understand some of what is said but it is still difficult. In your experience, with someone to train you every level, how many levels does it take to become proficient enough to understand and speak a language? Also, since I am a High Elf in Qeynos, I have many people asking me to teach them a point of my language, but they only want a single point. I read that languages go up once each hour, but does this mean that they go up on their own without practice? Im confused.

Anyway, this is a great server, and a good way to use your mind after the xp grind with your main.

    Thanks

It is true that you only get 1 language pt per hour and also true that it is reset after zoning. Our work around. Go to zone edge, teach each other 1 pt then zone, teach another point and zone back. Rinse and repeat. Doing this you can max out your skill very quickly.
    Hope this helps.

Since we all start on Firiona Vie with an empty purse and no other characters to "twink" us, we all tend to have this lower level money shortage. To add to that problem, all zones have the Trivial Loot Code in effect, so if we kill something too easy (green con) no magic items or lore items will drop. This cuts down on alot of the farming that happens on other servers. Those green willowisps that we used to blow through in our high teens won't drop Greater Lightstones anymore to fund our expensive spells and armor.

Some suggestions which you may or may not be aware of:
  • Collect spider and spiderling silks and pelts to sell to other players
  • Travel to Faydwer and do the lucrative Crushbone Belts quest alot since the belts are never trivial loot
  • Fight the Orcs of East Commons to sell belts and maybe a Pickbringer Coif
  • Fight willowisps for Lightstones and Greater Lightstones
  • Fight asps for their Giant Snake Fangs

  • Once you hit about level 20, the money situation improves since you can fight the wealthy Goblins of High Keep and the Recondites of Paludal Caverns.

    # Mar 25 2002 at 9:07 AM Rating: Excellent
You should be able to communicate adequately enough by "Below Average." At least, adequately enough to make group decisions. Emergency calls for help might not be understood in time though.

Zoning resets the language skill cap time limit. You can learn a point in North Qeynos, zone to South Qeynos, learn a bit, repeat. You and your friend(s) can plan a long trip together, and each learn a dozen points of a language on the way. It's less tedious and more /roleplay than standing on the edge of a zone.

    Re:Languages
    # Mar 24 2002 at 9:37 AM Rating: Good
Most people will only want a single point for language due to the one hour time delay before you can get another skill increase. The only way I know around this is to log off, then log back. Once you log the hour clock is gone, and you can skill up right away again.

The skill will only go up if you are listening to someone talking, either in /g or /say; so tells or auctions in city zones won't be helping you at all.

As the message above said the timer is reset after zoning, take a trip to the warrens from Qeynos, excellent XP (xp bonus) and better yet, they drop bronze, you can pick up roughly 10 lang points each direction. Emote is also a great tool to communicate with.

    Kill stealing?
    # Mar 10 2002 at 9:59 PM Rating: Excellent
How do you folks on a roleplaying server feel about or react to "killstealing?" I've seen a surprising amount of it already. Granted, most of it was on Orc Hill. I stood aside and healed strangers for Abjuration practice as they mingled with the orcs, and witnessed what looked like an orc free-for-all. It appeared as if people would just whack on the nearest orc regardless of whether that orc was already engaged. Since they were of different races I suspected some of them were not grouped.

On another occasion, I witnessed two warriors battling a goblin, while a third person ran up and ended up finishing the goblin off. The warriors engaged a second goblin nearby, and when the third person met them and hit that goblin, they abandoned their skirmish and ran off. They didn't say anything to him, angry or otherwise.

I can understand, in a roleplaying environment, that a character could see someone fighting a monster and think, "That monster needs to die, and I shall assist in his demise," without considering Experience Points. But personally, I would be miffed if someone not of my group tried to join in, if I wasn't in obvious distress.

Thankfully, the natural language barrier does a lot to discourage folks from yelling at each other....

I dont think it has anything to do with the lanuage barrier at all. Just someone who has never played the game before and has no idea of the unspoken rules as of yet.

Give them a week or 2 and most ppl get the idea of KS and how they should act. I say that cuz the ppl that i know in the RL that play one FV are over the genral age of 12!!

    RE: Kill stealing?
    # Mar 17 2002 at 12:23 AM Rating: Good
I've also saw people in waaaaay over their head accuse me of kill stealing when I save their butts because it's obvious that they're in over their heads. I ran into a very low level Erudite Wizard in Crushbone when I was in my 20th season. She conned green to me, and she was trying to fight off two orc legos who conned dark blue to me. I saved her butt and got promptly accused of kill stealing. I targeted her and healed her, and her hp bar went from below half to full with two Minor Healings, which led me to believe she shouldn't have been in Crushbone at all.
    RE: Kill stealing?
    # Mar 20 2002 at 3:13 PM Rating: Excellent
Fighting in Crushbone while she's obviously too weak, AND biting the head off of the person who saves her life, are strong indications that she isn't thinking very clearly, or at all. Yowza!

The opposite sometimes happens too - I spent an hour in Qeynos killing the necessary ingredients to make Edible Goo. You'd think my full armor and quick kills would tip someone off that I needed no assistance. But several times a brand-newbie would run up and start fighting my food-to-be. It was amusing to watch them try to loot my bat to whom they had given a whopping total 3 damage.

I figure it's just because people of different races can't communicate, so no one can yell at you if you KS, and you don't have to explain yourself when you do. The communication barrier is such a desolating feeling that it becomes each man for himself and nothing really matters anymore.

    <ooc>OK heres my problem,
I have been playing eq for several months now and come to one conclusion.
Most players when they are grouped are completly lacking in testicular fortitude!
I know this seems bad to say but look at it this way if you are in a group of 6 players why are you still hunting things that con blue!
I understand exceptions such as large numbers of blues at once exist but im talking about the 1 on 6 grouping methods employed by most of EQ, so as of right now i say that if im going to group im going to be going after at the VERY least white/black mobs and most likely yellow cause damnit i want a challenge and i want to kill things that i normally cant solo.
Thank you for listening to my rant and by all means flame this all you want I really want this to be a true discussion on why people group and dont take advantage of their combined butt whipping power
    RE: big flame time
    # Mar 13 2002 at 11:45 AM Rating: Good
You may be overlooking a couple things. Obviously this doesn't come into play in every instance, but it is possible that some groups are hunting some MOBs for particular reasons.

    1. Quest related - perhaps the creature drops some item needed by one of the party to fulfill a quest requirement. Many times, have I had to slay a blue or green MOB to get some item such as a belt to complete a quest.

    2. Skill related - Especially when tailoring, players may need to kill a certain type of MOB to get items needed for a skill such as a pelt/skin or silk. As a fledgeling tailor, I spend alot of time slaying blue/green spiders for silks, and wolves/bears for pelts in order to improve my skill level and make armors and such. Having the entire group do it, makes it possible to get more loot in a shorter period of time, eliminating 'down time' spent gathering components.

Just an observation, as I realize some players do choose fights that are easier. Just don't lump all players into that group. Sometimes we have another reason...

    RE: big flame time
    # Mar 06 2002 at 12:30 PM Rating: Good
I'm right with you, Gatsu! It just looks nuts seeing a good group of hunters going after little game, and they can't be getting much out of it. Playing it too carefully makes it too much like RL! YUK <grin> ! This is Norrath where you can take risks and win against impossible odds sometimes. If I were playing in fear of losing a little XP and having to run naked through a few zones to retrieve, I wouldn't be playing it fully.

    RE: big flame time
    # Mar 04 2002 at 9:15 AM Rating: Excellent
Heh heh, some of us don't have *************

Personally, in that situation, I would leave the group if they were unpleasant anyway, or persuade them to reach greater glory if their company was enjoyable.

Seems like some groups run around and kill things indiscriminately; they do not consider their prey before they charge them, therefore hunt a lot of unchallenging creatures. Other groups get a coveted camping spot and stay there until they outgrow it.

As with trying to achieve a balance of aggression in pulling, it would be good to find a balance of criticism. Some people obviously need a few pointers in group strategy, but no one will break it down for them. Other people are quick with the patronizing, exasperated remarks:

"I TOLD you to do such-and-such, you could have gotten yourself killed!"

(Excuse me? I accept the consequences of my actions, including my own death. But you won't ever see me doing anything foolish enough to get someone ELSE killed. I would literally die before I facilitated the death of a comrade.)

Maybe a bit of group strategizing would help people loosen up and try a bigger challenge. Like if everyone agreed on an evacuation routine ("if Bruno says run, RUN to that guard tower over there, and Bruno runs last") then the meaner monsters would not be so menacing. You might expect there to be unspoken codes of conduct which lay all that out for everyone, but never assume things like that.

My character on Mith Marr is a cleric and I have been with groups where after a battle everyone has full health and my mana is still around 50%. This is weak and shows definite lack of trust in the team!

I have seen players who lose one bubble of health crying for heals mid-battle; I just laugh at them and wait until they are below half.

    "But I was half-dead, healer!"
"Yes my fearless tank but that also means you were half-alive as well."

On the other hand, Gatsu, I have had party members leave a group because the main puller is TOO aggressive and a battle leaves everyone almost dead and very vulnerable...so I guess we need a better balance in there somewhere.

My FV character Piers is in your guild so hopefully we will be able to team up one day (I am only level 5 right now...)

Could anyone help escort me from Luclin to Norrath? While I love my home, duty calls; I must reach the planet as soon as I can. While I was warned of the dangers of the Paludal Caverns, I underestimated how confusing and confined the paths are. I followed the left wall, as it seemed to be the easiest path to Shadow Haven. Is there a less dangerous route?

Someone cast a SOW on me last night unexpectedly, so I quickly shed my belongings, grabbed my map and made a run for it. A phlarg sounding creature killed me halfway through the Paludal Caverns. Thank goodness there is nothing to retrieve from my corpse!

I would be deeply indebted to anyone who could escort me from Shadeweaver's Thicket to Shadow Haven. I am young and don't have much money, but I could donate some gold, or repay the favor some other way. As far as time goes, I would accommodate your schedule infinitely. Any time, day or night.

Hehe, this server sounds like a riot, and more like a ROLEplaying game then an uberl33t session
(which there is nothing wrong with that but it gets old and too diabloesque)

I believe i will join the server some time, just I need to make up my mind on what to play.

Evil or Good? Short or Tall? Those are the questions

P.S. How does faction work on the server? is your faction actually based on the guild you hand your little note thing into in the beginning of the game?
And do random NPCs in freeport attack elves of light and dark or are they somewhat neutral like on the normal servers?
Lastly, it is a pvp server right?

Create a character you are genuinely interested in roleplaying. Since your character will not have the best stats or the best equipment, you will have to enjoy it for what it is.

It's especially nice to see so many people using animated emotes instead of "LOL," "ROFL," etc.

Also, it seems like a lot more people here seek their goodies through quests on this server, and bother to learn tradeskills. While not the most efficient way, it's very satisfying to earn your equipment.

to see what you think about EQ if you STARTED on FV.

Many of the posts I read on this board and on http://pub94.ezboard.com/bfirionavie seem to indicate that we come to FV out of dissatisfaction with life on the other servers.

If you like to roleplay and are up to the challenge I say start on FV. But please keep us posted (no pun intended) on your impressions and experiences.

I am not sure you should start as a wood elf though, as I have heard that the area you would spend your first few levels in is noisy and full of people not really into roleplaying (this is not something I have experienced myself - I am in the lonely, brooding Qeynos Hills).

I started EQ 3 weeks ago and started out on Fironia Vie. I'd never played an online RPG before, the addiction has already rooted me to the keyboard.
About a week ago I did visit other servers, created characters and wanted to poke around and see what those servers (and other continents) were like. I was unable to stay longer than about an hour on any of them. The scroll of inanities is mind numbing. I returned right back to my one character on Fironia Vie where I am pleased and having loads of fun.

I myself started out on FV before going to any other server and have found that playing on other servers is, simply put, annoying. All the ooc and shouting, ppl holding conversations by doing both becomes particularly aggravating so much I gave up on my alt char on Bristlebane that I started a month ago. I have found though that the reason I like FV is due to the roleplaying, having played rpgs most of my life. Just ask around when you start out and read the rules posted about FV and you should be fine. I have found that if I politely ask someone if I can ask them a question they will answer most politely in return. I wish you luck on your char on FV.

Before I get too far with my brand new character on FV, I'd like to get your opinion on a few matters.

    1. Are deities especially important on FV? Is it kosher to play an agnostic shaman, and/or would anybody notice that I was such? If anyone noticed, must I have a good excuse? (Personally, the combination almost sounds Buddhist, which is how I pigeonhole myself when asked.)

    2. Two good friends are joining me on FV, for regularly scheduled grouping. We all want to be different races - Wood Elf, Erudite, and Vah Shir. We know about the initial language barrier, and actually look forward to its potentially amusing consequences. Do language skills increase by the RL hour, or the in-game hour?

Are the racial conflicts described in the Sony/Verant books played out on FV? Would my husband's Erudite really hate my Vah Shir? Would a lot of people stop to ask us what our background story is, why three people as different as we be grouped together?

As a veteran of D&D, I have no problem coming up with a story/background. However, I don't want to raise the ire of fellow gamers on FV by ignoring major story facets (like Erudites would NEVER be friendly to Vah Shir). I can always satisfy my desire for whiskers and a tail on another server, after all.

I would really appreciate any replies; we haven't invested much time into our characters yet.

Well deities effect what alignments you can pick. Other than that, if its what you want, its good. No one is going to be attacking you about anything like your alignment or why 3 such differnt characters are hunting together.

As for the languages, its once every real life hour. But if you zone, it resets the timer. I recommend going to a zone and just everyone spamming till your skills increase then zoning. I initially loved how the languages worked, but after I found how hard they were to raise, I got annoyed and opted for the quick zone learning.

Also dont worry about people thinking it odd a erudite and vah shir are together and not fighting. Things can happen during your travels, you could always say they started out as enemies, but that the vah shir risked their life to save the erudites, or something along those lines. Thats the fun of roleplaying. If you ever need the help of a human ranger, look for me in game as Aeyn. Safe journies.

What a relief!! Already I love the server, and my new character; it was even easy to pick the name I wanted. It's nice to know I haven't committed any horrible faux pas.

And thank you about the information regarding the languages. Our comprehension is still ridiculously poor, so we'll need all the help we can get.

I have spent only three nights on this server but I am a changed man! Love the empty spaces, the nervous exchanges between people just learning how to RP on EQ, wondering if they will be ridiculed or embraced for their display.

I have already joined a guild and enjoy the guild chatter keeping me company in the dark hills of Qeynos.

One question however - how far do you roleplay your racial/class restrictions? I was grouped with a human wizard who kept getting attacked by wolves. As a druid, wolves are all amiable to me, so I clearly cannot attack them.

Can I even heal this party member? Should I (in character) refuse to group with him in the future?

He died a little later (killed by a bat) and when he returned to his corpse, my response was:
"The spirit of the grey wolf has claimed his revenge, and now our karma has been repaid."

Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks in advance!

How far do you roleplay race/class restrictions? As far as you can stand it! I liked your answer to the fellow who killed the wolf.

Whether or not you should leave a group would probably depend on how often they did kill the creatures you're allegedly sworn to protect. An odd wolf here and there is one thing, especially when the wolf attacks unbidden. But it's a different matter when the group kills indiscriminately, and doesn't heed your request to stop. I'd leave a group like that with a quickness, because of their disrespect.

Imposing limits on what your character can do is an important aspect of roleplaying, a necessary part of characterization. There's debate as to whether neutral alignment is a copout for the sake of convenience. Could the same question apply for hunting indiscriminately? (for the Good races at least)

From the very beginning, my Vah Shir shaman has vowed that she will not hunt ANY furry creatures with the exception of gnolls and orcs, who seem to be vicious, evil, twisted mutations of animals.

My party members kill furry creatures, and when they do, I stand aside, sometimes with my back turned. I do not fight, heal or buff as long as they are fighting. If my party member does not survive, so be it. It probably aggravates my tailor friend that I do not help her collect pelts. And when I cook, I won't use furry creature meat.

The limitation is inconvenient at times, but that's okay. I don't want to get all philosophical here, but -- what is a personality but the sum of its preferences?

When I group with new friends and travel outside with them i first tell them that I am a friend to wolves and bears. No, I am not so harsh a judge as Ms. Windstalker but I will not assist a kill unless my safety is at risk. Many times, this means assisting group members because group safety ensures your safety (that and, um, you're grouped with FRIENDS). In lower levels you will likely group with anyone you can but I will be choosing carefully as I attain higher levels.

Early on I was on a long adventure with a new friend and we were both young in season and ventured far too far for our abilities. We were attacked by lions and he was attacked repeatedly by wolves. I did then defend and killed several wolves. For a time the wolves loked at me aprehensively but now after passage of time they are once again amiable.

Delete your character and start an evil gnome! And then you can hate the wizard and kill the animal! Easy as pi, or is it pie?

Personally, if I was a druid, which I'm not and will probably never be, I would never harm an amiable animal and watch happily as they kill another player.
    target: wolf
    :pets %t on the head.
    Soansondo dies to a wolf.

As my character I help no one, though I do enjoy receiving it. Especially from other actual RPers who mistake me for a good gnome, but I Nrim am the only Priest of Bertoxxulous on the server (to my knowledge) though I fear my rarity will be destroyed since the evil gnomes finally have spell merchants (while I had to run to Qeynos without spirit of wolf.)

    I cried!

I think I WILL stick to character next time and snub the wolf-killers in my group. But isn't that rubbing salt into his wounds, so to speak? The last sounds he would hear as he died would be me taunting him and encouraging the wolf....

But I am intrigued by the concept.

    Thanks for the amusing response!

Ok heres how you can work on it. As a Druid you are to respect and not interfere with the natural order of nature. So if you saw a hungry wolf attacking a small fluffy cute squirrel you couldnt interefere, if you saw a gnoll attacking a wolf you defintily could because the gnoll is not a predatory animal but a evil being, now if the wolf attacks a good person who did not provoke the animal by attacking first(or killing its kind) It is safe to help them becuase they arent a part of the animals natural prey. If you would help a wolf because it was attacked by a gnoll, why not help a human that was attacked by a wolf? Its the same thing, you are to keep the balance of nature, not of animals. I wrote this kinda off the top of my head, its based off the D&D druid kinda(been a while) hope it helps. Of course it depends on your character, does your character question their place in nature's balance, do they let their own emotions interfere with their duty? Its the fun of roleplaying, Im hoping to develop my ranger as time goes on. right now I will help if a person(not evil) is attacked by a kodiak, but if they attacked I tend to be indifferent to the battle(secretly hoping hte bear wins) Sorry this is kinda jumbled(and the grammar is making me ill) but I just thought I'd throw in my thoughts.
    My FV Situation
    # Feb 13 2002 at 9:43 AM Rating: Decent
I post this wondering if any other FV players have arrived at the same place.

Started on FV ten minutes after it went live (best I can figure), have had a barbarian shaman-who-was-once-a-warrior-and-is-now-old-and-wise, and similar to many posts below, enjoyed EQ at a level I hadn't since I was a noob years ago. I love everything about FV, but two issues: the population level and alignment tendencies.

Of course when I started on FV the population was through the roof, but in the past month or so, the population seems so depleted, it becomes near impossible to find a group, and worse still when you find a group and they can't take you because they're mostly neutral and have one evil guy with them. (chose good alignment)

I'll take quality over quantity any day, and the quality of who I play with when I DO get a group has kept me coming back to FV, but I find myself rarely checking lately because I know I can get a group in 5 minutes on Luclin (the server I'm from originally).

And the other issue, and I've actually been berated more than once for being so stupid as to choose a good alignment, is if everyone's just gonna choose neutral alignment, what's the point of the alignment system, or even roleplaying for that matter?

In real life I would call myself true neutral, but this is roleplaying, and my shaman is the good neighbor your parents talk about once existing.

I know I restricted myself by choosing good alignment, but at the time the server population was large enough that I didn't see it as a problem. With a small population, you have to take what you can get, and at that point the only sensible alignment is neutral, which defeats roleplaying if everyone takes it. Anyways.

postscript: might add I thought for a while joining a guild would solve the problem, but I've yet to even hear of a good alignment guild. Closest is good/neutral, where most are neutral, and I don't get the good xp. wanh.

Hai, friend Barbarian. If you can stand being associated with a guild whose very name summons up images of Elvenkind, the Kelethin Legions are an all-good guild. Lotsa rangers and paladins, but we have our share of our short friends with hairy feet.

Greeting. I am the Gnomish Priest of Bertoxxulous. I deem my path a rarity considering I had to do my studies in Qeynos. I wish to start a guild based on the spread of disease, death, and decay. I wish to have large number of fellow gnomes who serve Bertoxxulous, but we also accept Bloodsabers. If interested contact me. Roleplayers ONLY. Let me repeat ROLEPLAYERS ONLY. Level does not matter. You have to roleplay in group, say, guild, and shout chats, but do not in tells and auc. Name has yet to be selected. We support Bloodsabers and the Dark Reflection and parts of initiation into our guild will be killing their enemies. We are indifferent to Erudin-Heretic conflict. Though Deepwater Knights are truely our enemies. Message me (Nrim) or Mordeith. If you consider making a evil gnome cleric then I suggest you contact me for help. You have to travel to Qeynos for your spells, but the Bloodsabers do not have them all.

    Evil/Chaotic is what we are.
Faction with good cities shoud not concern you.

Hail and well met. I have a small question for all of you who play the FV server. The roleplaying aspect is what interests me and I love the Cleric class, however I already have several Dwarf Clerics on other servers and didn't want to repeat that. I was thinking of making a Dark Elf Cleric and was wondering if there are enough people who play the dark races to find a group or whether I would spend most of my time wandering around as the only dark race in a zone? Also from other posts that I've read it seems that Gfay is the zone of choice for most people, as a Dark Elf do they speak Tier-dal or do they understand regular elven as well? Thanks for all replies in advance.

Why would you want to be able to speak with High Elves or Wood Elves? Are you going to be yet another person who thinks they roleplay because they use "thee" and "thou" and say such things that sound like they are from the Bible?

Nrim: I found that a little annoying too, but I haven't run into that much in a while. Seemed to me it was mostly firstcomers who've since left the server. The roleplaying aspect I wonder at now are the people who roleplay fully at the start of a group, then gradually slip into talking about ISPs n crap. Eh?

Perhaps it would give me comfort to whisper in their ear how happy it has made me to be able to watch the life slip from their snobish bodies, and have them understand me when I say it.
