# Sep 28 2003 at 9:25 AM Rating: Decent
I played this game last year under the server firona vie. I was just wondering if a guild called eternal Redemption is still around. THe leader was named Noggy and a member was named deena. Noggy was a high elf and Deena was a human. If anyone knows please reply.

I just moved to this server and started over and I love it. On my other server I was the only one I knew to do the quest armor. Everyone else had better armor from other characters and such. It was all who had better toys.

FV is essentially a regular blue server with TLC rules in effect for all zones and that most items with No Drop tags have been dropped (with the exception of Epic weapons). IMHO, Sony destroyed roleplaying on FV the day they dropped a vast majority of the restrictions.

So that makes you what is known as an "E-BAY Warrior?" Supertwink? Transferred your character? The idea behind this server is for roleplaying (the games original intent, not just getting better equipment than everyone else). There is still ways to pk, you can turn in your tome or duel. I used to play pvp, until I got sick of people just wondering around after having bought plat online, or transferred their characters and scraped enough money up to supertwink a newbie, then just wander around pking because they know most characters can't touch them with their fungus/ag protecter combo. I'm sure you'll come up with some "clever" explaination on why this doesn't apply to you, but seeing your post for what it is, I'm sure it's a falasy.

Since the EQ gods stoped the pp flowing at the Aqua Goblin Camps in Butcher Block Mountains, I don't really know where to go and get a steady flow of pp giving items anymore? If anyone has any suggestions please let me know where to go for a new steady flow of pp. C-3 is a must for any Shaman and cost lots of pp to keep it going. Thanks in advance for anybodies help on this matter.

Well, it really depends on your level.

If you're low level (under 35) I suggest farming spiderling/spider silks, and wolf/cat/bear/rockhopper pelts/skins. - sell these in the bazaar, to tailors and blacksmiths.

If 35 or over, try geonids in Crystal caverns, or Hill giants in rathe mountains grouped.

If over 45, exp in any dungeon thats lvl appropriate, and gems, and gear should drop that you can sell. (note dungeon, not just zone, outside zones like DL drop crap for loot),

twinking
# Jan 26 2003 at 11:15 AM Rating: Decent
From what I have seen of twinking, it's usually done like this: Higher character in a town and needs help, let's say a mage who is doing concordance research and needs someone to hold things, High mage finds lower mage and in return gives lower mage say a bat skull earing-just to make space. Or a low level mage gets help from a high elf and Barbarian to deliver mail to highpass-Mage is 2, and High elf makes some nice raw-silk armor for young mage-helps mage, improves high elf's skill. High mage wanting to improve skill in tailoring makes crystaline things, and gives them away as small quests to new players in home town, rather than sell to merchants, like-wise in freeport, to young Monk's for Wu's things-again mini quests, (any monk who can find-etc.)to increase skill and give to someone who can use rather than just sell to merchant

It's great having more warriors on in EQ, but if i could make a suggestion...i would only say that you might have more fun as something other than a warrior, at my lvl (45) ive gotten much boredom from a warrior...we cant solo, we dont get neat new spells, etc.

So, i would only recomend you be something that can tank (If thats what you want to do)...like an SK or somethin, i've heard they're fun. But, if you really wanna be a warrior, dwarf is the way to go (thats what i am) Cause, although they might not be the strongest, they are small, and being small is very important (although you might not think so) EXAMPLE: So you need to get into the Hole (A mid-high level zone that normally requires a key to get through the piled rocks guarding the entrance), but you dont have a key, and no one is in the zone next to the Hole (no one ever is, and if you were big, you would need a shaman or a beastlord to shrink you, in order for you to squeeze in) Being a small dwarf, you can just wiggle your way through the rock barrier!

So, i really hope this helped you a little bit, and thanks for your time, to anyone who's reading this!!

I Quit EQ over a year ago and now it is like playing a new gave, I am lost. I like this server,
I just started a human Cleric of Innoruuk. I was surprized that I was more excepted in the dark elf city than in Freeport. My main problem is that I am having a hard time soloing, as a cleric and I can not comunicate here in Neriak with the PCs inorder to find groups.I just turned 6th lvl,Can someone help me learn Dark Elvish?I am also looking to join a guild. This character is a real chalenge, but also very fun.I need one more halfling necklace for my initiate symbol of Innoruuk. The DE NPCs love me,except the ghouls. If you have any advice and/or incite, I would appreciate it alot.My Charater's name is Torina. You can E-Mail me
at perrogrande@excite.com-- I would pay plat for someone to teach me the language, but I have nothing yet--I can give them an I.O.U.--Please help. Also where can I find out what the spells do,for clerics?

1) What does this have to do with Fiorina Vie?

2) Are you trying to say the PCs in Neriak don't speak Common? Everyone speaks Common.

3) To learn DE, just have someone set up a hotkey to spam you in DE five times. Then they just have to keep hitting that hotkey. I got 100 in Dragon this way while camping Ice Giants with someone who spoke Dragon. When I asked for someone to spam me in DE, I got lots of voulenteers, so you shouldn't have a problem.

I suspect that when EQ was first conceived, "Common" language didn't start off at 100, and you had to learn other race's languages to group and such. However, everyone starts off with a Common language skill of 100, so language should be NO barrier in finding a group.

There is no common language on the FV server. Elvish is the most widely used language on the server though.

Should anyone like language lessons, look me up. I'm a master of every language except for Dark Speech. If I have the time, I'll be happy to teach.

On the Firona Vie server everyone doesn't speak the human language, but thanks for the idea to have someone give me a spam in DE. PCs in Neriak do not speak common unless they learn it.

A year ago (I think...it was a few months before luclin came out) I quit everquest. Frustrated with Lamerz and Droods and materialistic ****-ants, I left vowing I would never touch a mmorpg ever again. Then someone at work was talking about how their brother was addicted to everquest and I remembered fondly my little barbaian shaman and longed to find a place where she could play, free from the idiots that overpopulate most of the EQ servers. SO I reinstated my account and I saw Fironia Vie. So far I'm pretty impressed and hope (once I get my EQ-legs back) to have some really honest fun.
Until then...

Like many of the previous writers, I also, am pleased with FV. The twinking and childishness of some characters on my fist server, where I have a 53 bard has become unbearable, especially since summer hit.

I found FV because of the low usage compared to other servers, but have really been pleased with the role playing environmnet. I do not miss the irrelevant 'chat room' chatter and vicious constant flaming on my other server.

I am only lvl 11, but the environment on fv has been a pleasing change, even the language barrier is a fun problem to solve, not a hindrance.

I did see an ad on my other server's bulletin board for someone wanting to trade cash (3k on another server for 1k on FV) and I saw a lvl 15 bard in full lambent the other day, but that is an exception, not the rule.

Lets all work together to keep FV in the spirit it was intended, not by ragging on those that violate its precepts, but by keeping them ourselves.

I never guilded on the other server because the occurance of less than pleasant individuals was a little too high. On FV, I find it just the opposite, and may indeed seek to guild with almost all of the excellent PC's I have encountered...if I can ever learn to speak with them.
RE: Pleased with FV
# Dec 18 2002 at 4:09 PM Rating: Decent
OK, I know this is a little after the fact of the post, but I just got an al account. I agree with non-twinking. I play on a PvP server (Tallon Zek, but I'm researching for a better place to go) and there is nothing more frustrating than camping an area with your untwinked self and getting killed with a lot of money on you(money made more precious by the fact you're not twinked) by a twink. Not to whine, but it's just not cool for someone who had lvl 55 gear transferred to them, while you earned everything you have, to get all of your hard earned cash without a good fight.
I'm thinking about starting a FV character, even more so now, just because of these annoyances.
sorry to rant,
-Natasha

Oh, and the reason it's a pet peeve for everyone is that on pvp, people just kill you to kill you. I agree that fighting another pc is a lot of fun, but you can't have a good time if there's no chance. You do very poorly when fighting someone of the same level that has uber armor, j-boots, and a centi long sword.

Why is twinking considered out of line on a roleplay server? Maybe not out of line per say, but everyone here has listed it as a pet peeve from their "other server" just about.

If a person came up to me and gave me a lot of good higher level stuff, great! Thank you much!

But what does that have to do with roleplaying?

The only role playing situation I could see is a monk who has taken a vow of poverty refusing to be twinked. That makes sense, and that is IMHO the only way these two issues cross over(twinking and role playing).

Sorry to rant a bit, but I think twinking has very very little to do with good role playing unless your character has a certain personality trait in regards to possessions.
RE: Pleased with FV
# Sep 05 2002 at 2:11 PM Rating: Decent
Twinking is considered to be when a persons higher level character gives his lower level characters equipment they would have no chance of getting on their own. This is impossible on FV, because of the 1 character per account rule. And it evens the playing field considerably. Also, there is a feeling that you are playing with veterans, not newbies. Both of which, are good things, and make this server worthwhile on their own.

It isn't 'impossible' to twink on FV, if you have one of a few things; 1) two accounts 2) a high level friend 3) a high level nice random person.

Remember, like on the blue servers-- everyone's very first character was untwinked.

What I do like about FV is because twinking is difficult, people are more likely to give you things, and are more generous and kinder to newbies overall. I like this because it's hard starting any new character, and a little help goes a long way. I think the blue servers should be more like this, but because of the twinking, you can never be sure.

My first has stuff thats probably too good for her level-- and she has never been given anything. I've earned all I have, and I earn the right to give my characters what I earn, even if it means twinking them slightly.

Twinking is twinking, I won't defend it or condemn it, but its true that it has nothing to do with roleplaying. However it is discouraged on FV, I believe, because obviously a level 2 can't get lambent, so it goes against the role play nature of the lambent armor quest.

I can understand that, and I like that about FV, but twinks or no, I go there to roleplay.

Personally, I have nothing against twinking at all. The item is yours; you earned the right to do what you will with it-- be it twinking your alt, or selling it.

What I do have a problem with, is twinks starting trains because they go and hunt places too high for them and over pull, because they think their highbe gear will save them. Twinks going around pretending to be untwinked to dupe and recieve goodies of unsuspecting kind-hearted people, and beggars thinking that because I have 2 centi LS, I have have a spare on hand just for them to have. =P

However, as always, the problem is in the person, not necessarily the twink.

I quit EQ for a while but recently came back and wanted to get away from the twinking and idiots so I decided to give the FV server a try. After making it to level 14, I was please how helpful and polite most people were. As I was zoning into Freeport from EC to deliver some orc belts, I was booted to the screen before the server selection. I tried to go back into FV but it said that I had an active character and to try back, or some like that. I waited and tried again. This time it would let me select the server and select my character but it would boot me back to the same screen(the load screen before the server selection). I rebooted a couple of times but got the same response.

I came back a couple of days later but had the same problem, so, I loaded my char from a different server and it worked fine. The problem is this, I cannot load my character and I cannot create a second character to tell the GMs to that I am having problems. Since he is 14, I could start over but this mage just started getting interesting. Any suggestions on what to do?

Well i have decided to make a character on this server, it seems like a blast a and a real challenge. I am planning on making a Half Elf Paladin or Warrior. I have a couple of questions if someone could please answer them it would be nice. Ok, as a Half Elf, would I be able to speak both Human and Elvish tounge? Im considering starting in Kelethin since Freeport is a bit too old to me. That the best idea? Also, how common is a Paladin on this server? A Half Elf Paladin? What about a warrior? If there is one thing I hate, it's being labeled as 'common' (as you can see i made a human wizard lol). Well if anyone can answer these questions i would greatly appreciate it.

Greetings all, I started my very first character on FV back in January, and made a wise decision. I play a couple of alts on Lanys T'Vyl every so often, and the amount of twinkage, and lower caliber, unfriendly players on other servers is astounding compared to FV.

I gave met tons of nice people on FV, have had very very few experiences of Kill Stealing or Camp Stealing, 99% of the people here are willing to help, it's great. A wonderful sense of community even across races.

Anyone starting a new characer on this server, either from another server, or for the first time, feel free to drop me a line.

I have been thinking for a while and I have bewen switching between this server and Bristlebane for a while. I have finally started to get a lot of the trade skills down so I think I have finally made my choice. I am going to be a ranger, but not of those that doesn't hurt animals.. I am going to be a Tracker! I am going to hunt them down for their valuable pelts! I am going to be someone who will kill not only a gnoll attacking a wolf, but then kill the wolf next! Now my only question is gfay or surefall. I am thinking Gfay just becuase you never know when those 2 ******* ranger who kill poachers will come around in Qeynos hills!
Welcome to all newcomers

Well met and welcome one and all! Even those of you who may choose to walk in the Darkness, come and join us in the untainted lands of Firiona Vie.
What should you expect? Well, for one thing, alot more politeness and generally a better atmosphere. Even if you have a dificult time taking on the role, you will find the general less frnatic pace here a refreashing break from the grind of your home server.
With the recent changes there is little reason not to come out and give FV a try. If you enjoy elves I sugest you give this server a try( as I am currently establishing a good aligned elvish guild I am a bit biased :) ). There is a very much more "laid back" attitude here, for good reason. Those who rush or power level often discover they have "forgotten" to acquire an item or three which they either want or feel they need before it trivials. Basically the deal is if it is green and drops a lore or magic item it will not due to the TLC. This has the benefit of limiting those competitors for the rare spawns to those in a lower level range than on most other servers.(I know I hated competing with level 50s for level 30 loot).
Anyways come to Firiona Vie with an open mind, come to have fun and come join my guild. Hehehe.
