Hello everyone,
I am on Prexus/ TT server and the Merger did not help the grouping situation for mid lvl toons....Now it is overran with multi-boxers and end game LFG'ers. Can anone tell me if this server is any better when it comes to groups for mid lvl toons and late night players (10pm-4 am EST)? Thanks for the info as I am looking to move servers.

I wonder if I post items in here if they will sell better than in Baz. I wouldn't mind just standing around all day to sell my stuff, but it gets kinda boring after a while. Sooo.... when I get home, I'm gonna post some items I am selling in here and PLEASE feel free to buy them from me. I guarantee cheap prices and good items.

Hall of Shame
# Apr 28 2004 at 2:51 AM Rating: Decent
I think we should have a Hall of Shame for peeps to check on and see who's a major ******** surfer on our server. I like to start the list with tonights nominee.....

Forlox - Warrior
(Guild - Skulls of Fury)

Some history. grouped with said individual in an LDoN. We both had Centi LS's. Being the MT, he thought it "would be cool" to see how much damage he could do with 2. So he asks if he can borrow it for the adventure. He seemed pretty cool, knew how to play.......yeah I know, I made a mistake......for the record I never loan what i can't live without....anyways, after we zone he heads to Kelethin, which was my first clue that it was going to end badly for my SK. I ask for the sword, he says sure, come to lift.......knowing as a Lizzy SK I am KOS. Then he mysteriously developes computer issues.....screen blanked out, his mouse is froze, he can't type.......his ***** is shrinking, his girlfriend has the clap, his Mom gave him Hep......etc, etc, etc......so he has to log, just to try and get his tower back. Just for giggles and grins......I included his guild tag NOT as an attempt to discredit the guild but maybe in the off-chance one of his guildies reads this stuff and decides to dump the sorry SOB.......before anyone flames this.......if you're going to say something redundantly stupid like "all trades are final".....save the keystrokes because i don't care what you have to say.......

When I started on EQ just over a year and a half ago I had a friend to point me in the direction of the Bert server and I have had fun ever since. I do have characters started on the Luclin server for when Bertoxx crashes but I primarily stay on Bert.
The main reason I stay on Bertoxx is that I have made friends and been in a really good guild when it was in its prime, Mystical Empire. The friends have come and gone and the Mystical Empire that I knew has disappeared. But, I am still here b/c of the fun I am having meeting new people and taking on new adventures.
The bad things are the guilds that require you to be on EQ 40 hrs a week if you want to participate in their raids and be a member. I currently have 3 of my 4 guys in guilds but I do not do much with them other than group with a member every now and then when doing LDoN.
Here's to the Fun on Bertoxxulous.

What's going on in EQ? I've been playing for four years and the everyday comraderie and good will is all but vanished. Useta be....folks would say "hail" or plain "hello" and ask to inspect you......and usually end up giving you a piece of gear that complimented your current set if they had it and it was doomed to go to the merchants. I recieved many a fine present that way. A quick nod to the very first player that ever did that to me......a wizzy named Mehlia, outside Felwithe while I tried in vain to negotiate the learning curve that wizzies can't tank, LOL.....she gave me roughly a pp in gold, walked me through Felwithe, made sure I bought some armor, and my 1st level spells. She was in a guild called "Cutthroat Bandits" (anybody remember them? Please post!)and I never really forgot the gesture or the unfiegned kindness. Anyway, my rant......peeps just /inspect you without asking ( I'm probably being petty, but it is annoying and a pet peeve) and then start asking you for gear....."Hey, can u give me those SCHW's?" Hey, no prob....here's 10 kpp while we're at it.....wouldn't want you to have to actually earn anything......Every now and again, I run into someone who actually asks if they can /inspect and I am like.......WOW! Civility isn't dead after all, there still are some old school players left in EQ.....

I used to play WAY back in the day, before the numerous expansions and changes... LOL, when my shammie finally made the run from Halas to Freeport (And yes, I mean run, zone after zone) it was an amazing acomplishemnt. Freeport was crowded then. Luclin had just come out, computer couldnt deal, so I left. Coming back after all this time, the changes have made EQ a new place. However, you are correct in that what was classic EQ courtesy is simply not there any longer. Inspected over and over, Ive been yelled at for not grouping with someone when I had to log for work (wow, yes, the words were an amazing show of middle school dialect), KSed a hundred times just in the tutorial, someone attempted to train me over and over and over (But it doesnt work in the tut, so he died over and over). However, there are a few who are simply great players. Almost deciding it isnt worth coming back, I ran into a couple of longer termed players and struck the convo... the good players are out there, its just not as prevalant as in days of old.

Yes well, EverQuest has changed...*bull*

EverQuest is a completely differant game than it was. Don't get me wrong, I love playing it. It's a good game and outragously fun. But i'm convinced Sony's priority is not a good game, it's throw out expansions as fast as they can that have something vital so they can make s'more money. Scowls* Maybe someday Verant will buy it back.

That's just my opinion though. I'm sure there are plenty of people who by far prefer it the way it is now. But I don't know many veterens that wouldn't go back to old school EverQuest if they had the chance. It's not longer a hard game, it's just a long game. You don't have to complete many quests, melee epics are now worthless and you all you have to do for an upgrade is run to the bazaar. No more questing. No more running or taking boats to get where you were going. Now it's just /ooc loc of book plz

I must say i'm disappointed with the way EverQuest has gone. It's made my very apprehensive toward Sony and EQII.

Anyway, yes Bertoxx is the place to be for typical EverQuest, it's an old server so there are less noobs and more experienced players. Of course I hate how often it crashes but that's short term enough.
"Roleplaying"
# Nov 11 2003 at 2:39 PM Rating: Decent
I have finally decided that EQ is not for the "purist" or "immersion" roleplayers (here come the flames). I am a purist roleplayer but I've finally gotten fed up with GMs. Why do they allow evil races with evil classes if they don't want people to roleplay being evil? If you are a darker than dark, vile, evil dark elf necromancer that WORSHIPS Innoruuk, the God of Hate, then why can't you act evil. If I want to attack a NPC High Elf because I want to act on my hatred for them, why should I not be allowed? The GMs answer, "You cannot act in such a way that interferes with someone else's gameplay." If that is true and we all have to get along in a happy world, why did they (Verant and Sony) allow people to create evil characters?

Case in point: I was attacking and killing a banker for the sheer enjoyment of destroying the inhabitants of a good city. I was killing guards, merchants and other citizens too. Well within 10 minutes a GM showed up and told me to stop. Even though I was flagged as roleplaying and was even taking the time to gloat and shout in character, the GM put a stop to it.

If they don't want players to act out evil (or chaotic for that matter) acts, then why not have everyone play good races and characters?

Sorry for all the ranting. I needed to vent my frustration after having played the game for over 2 years now. So in conclusion, EQ is not a true roleplaying game. It has pretty graphics, nice gameplay and the ability to interact with others and work together. So if you are playing a good race, then maybe you can truly roleplay. Otherwise just get used to seeing my DE Necromancer grouping with pally and rangers.

I'm off now to have some fun.

I can't really decide if I like, or dislike bertoxx, i mean, ya, it does crash like every week, but the people on the server seem to be really nice, its not filled with roleplayers (im sorry, but i dislike them, i mean, ITS A GAME) and the prices are ok, they arent great, but they arent insane either, and ya, the twinking is pretty bad, but than the crashing and twinking, i think its a pretty good server over all.
Bertoxx prices/ Guilds
# Oct 28 2003 at 2:56 PM Rating: Default
Born on bertoxx, and I'll die there too (have many times actually) Awesome server actually, never less than 450 sellers at bazaar. Prices tend to be better midweek than on the weekend, NEVER buy on Sunday ( IMHO)But the twinking.......LOL, have to laugh I am so guilty of this myself......but the twinking is absolutely pathetic. But hey, if ya got it.....spend it on yourself! And if ya don't got it.....well, theres always supersales or something like that where you can fork over real cash for ingame pp. My gripe is not with the bazaar. It's the guilds. GAAAAHHHHHH! We have more guilds per square inch on Beroxx than ANY other server I bet and most aren't worth the spaces their names occuppy. And this is not a slam against legit guilds like PR and Prophecy (which incidentally I don't think I've even seen any of their players except late at night, usually outside Ak'Anon, and I presume, selling off that phat uber loot they spend all night getting)I've been playing for three and a half years and have been been in many guilds.....the truly horrid, the truly pathetic, the really cool, the near really cool, the almost uber, the formerly-uber-and-desperately-trying-to-be-that- way-again, and any other kind of guild that you can think of. I've seen really great guild leaders (few and far between) and really crappy ones too ( no shortage there)I've played alongside peeps that are a credit to both the game and their guilds and I've also played alongside peeps that should just go play DAoC instead of wasting thier own and mine and everybody elses time. SO here's my plan.....I propose a new guild. Really, it would be fun....these are the rules; and I'm getting this from guilds I've been in.
1) There will be essentially 7 main peeps in guild. This will ensure that we can get a charter up (which will mean nothing because noone follows the damn thing anyways)They will all have at least (5) alts, that they split time with equally. Tunare forbid that anyone should actually get proficient at playing a MAIN character.
2) Experience groups will be at the discretion of the original members. Basically, if you aren't in the original group, expect to listen to our exploits in guild chat while you solo grind for experience. Special to Wizzy's and Druids: Please try not to get too involved with whatever adventuring you're doing. After a night of killing and looting, there's not much more annoying than a guildie who doesn't drop whatever he/she is doing to port us around where ever we need to go to sell/ transfer our stuff. Unquestioned loyalty and availability are benchmarks for good guildies. Who know's? Brown up enough and we might even invite you one night! It's something to hope for, ya know?
3) There will be "open" enrollment and recruitment for all classes and dieties over level 10. Not because we'll care about you or your level, but because theres nothing quite as satisfying for a guild leader than to do a /who in a zone and see THE GUILD accounting for at least 50% of the peeps there. It extablishes presence and represents us well.
The above is meant purely tongue-in-cheek. If it offends anyone, good....I've probably had a character in your guild. Consider it "constructive criticism". If you read this and thought, wow! been there, done that, got the T-shirt......well there ya go. Who know's? Maybe we were guildies.
Anyways, thats my rant for today. If anyone or any guild exists in game that really like to play, can appreciate that part of the fun of playing and getting to know your character is a ride on the learning curve, and can appreciate the occasional miscue while we all learn how to get better at what we do; and if these said peeps are ever looking for someone to group with, send me a tell. If anyone is serious about forming a guild that actually plays together (not just a select few) and works for the betterment and entitlement of all its members, please send me a tell. Or, if I really annoyed you with this post, just do better with your next guild and we'll call it even, okay?

Progressive levelling information
# Jul 21 2003 at 8:29 AM Rating: Decent
Hello all,
I have a 42 enchanter here on the server, and am plagued by a problem I've been having for the last few levels. I can never find a new zone to move to! I work full time early in the am, and go to school full time as well, and when I get to play EQ I like to play, not look for a group in a zone thats a little too high for me or is heavily camped. My guild really doesn't know much, as they are all level 60's or so and havn't been levelling at my level for so long they've forgotten, or don't know the good ones since expansions. OOC's or shouts rarely lead to any good information.

Thus, my solution is this. I would like everyone to email me, at jimbo7@door.net, all info on:
1) what level and class you are
2) what zone you are in
3) where you are hunting in the zone,
4) how bad the agro is
5) how fast the experience is
6) what strategy you are using
7) how heavily camped it is
8) how good the loots are
9) and how accessible the zone is through the means of a port or Plane of Knowledge.

If you could send me this information, I will make sure to do my part and make the gaming experience so much better for all who play Everquest. There is too much downtime for those of us on our way up with our first character. Has anyone ever wondered why these epic PC's a lot of times have an alt that is almost or over level 50? Its because they had all the information above! But they found it the hard way. Lets cut the downtime people, send me some emails and lets make this game more fun!

Do you like to Roleplay? Are you an "Evil" Race(Dark Elf, Troll, Oger, Iksa) Do you worship Innoruuk(some Half Elf warriors) The check out www.gbronline.com/darklegacy... Wep page for The Legacy of The Damned. We are currently a small Guild(Only about 60 members). We are looking for people who follow the PnP and who role play. Almost any race/classare allowed. But you must
1. Be able to bank in Neriak without the guards attacking you and
2. You must bring proof of your loyalty. To do this you must bring us the blood or flesh of someone from your race.

Contact any member and they can help you meet with an officer

Bad Choices
# Jan 14 2003 at 3:35 PM Rating: Default
Lately I've just been regretting my choice of server. The GM's are lazy, the people are either whining newbies or dopes with stupid names playing the game like it's Doom. But of course, I can't afford to pay the outrageous fee to move them somewhere else.

I miss the Roleplaying aspect of these games. Very few people seem to bother anymore. (Heck, most don't even bother to spell out their words when they type). The people I've met from Bertoxx's "roleplaying guild" don't even roleplay anymore, and the supposed "roleplaying server" is so overcrowded and messed up that it's not even worth looking into.

If this sounds like you (angry with GM's, tired of stupid people, want to roleplay more) then please look me up! You can usually find Dartien, if not, most people in the Counsel of Knights and Maidens (that's a great bunch of people, by the way) can point you to an alternate character.

Who knows? If there really are enough people like that out there, we might be able to form our own guild and continue to hunt down like-minded people.
Does This Interest Anyone?

I am debating starting a guild due to the fact I am sick of either being in a bogus guild were only a select few gain OR giving up my real life to be in an Ubber Guild and swearing on my 1st born I will be online 40hrs a week for raids. (There is a world outside that door and it aint called Norrath). I am thinking the rules would be something like this.

1. Loot will most likely go to whoever it most improves. Someone is not going to get a BP that boost his AC by 3 if the next guy's BP would be improved by 15. Granted that is stated in simple form, other stats would have to be taken into account but thats the general idea.

2. If you are given something by the guild and then get better later on by the guild. It would be expected that you hand down the 1st item to someone that could use it if its droppable.

3. We would not be a guild that is there to get you your epic. We may get you it but dont join if you are thinking it is any type of priority to get you your epic. Level of people we would look for are the ones that have there epic already if they have any intention of getting it. ( I being a Necro have no great desire to go thru the hassle for such a lame item.)

4. To start Level to enter may be as low as 56 but most likely 60 is ideal.

5. We will schedule raids and try to do bosses as they become avaiable. But the main purpose is some good hunting and haveing fun.

6. If you have a group going someplace try your best to get as many guild members in it. And if you are looking for a group try your best to get in a guild group. It helps to know each others play style.

In short it would be a guild for people that have been around and know the game. Looking for fun and xp without the hassle of someone always wanting this or that then /guildremove once they get the items they need.

Post up some reply's so I can get an idea of if
there are enough people in Norrath that think like that or not.

P.S. If you are one of these types this aint for you.

I was in DL with an alt of mine and
a 53 warrior was inspecting me. The next question out his moth was " Hey, where does that Flowing Black Silk Sash drop?" God Bless EBAY.

hello all bertoxx pals i got a great story for you all...

one day, at level 9, i had just died <as usual> and i was doing a corpse run... well someone hailed me, and so I looked back and saw someone named malyenya... who just so happened to hand me the BIGGEST hammer i had seen <stone thunder>, sow-ed me, gave me great buffs, and did my corpse run for me =)... from that day on, every time I saw someone who looked like they were just chillin got an unsuspecting SoW from me... LOL one day, this guy was AFK, and I had only enough mana for one SoW so I SoW-ed him, sat down and proceded to med up... about halfway there, he says thanks for the sow... by this time I realize I hace a ten-second memory span and ask him when did I SoW you, and I see him stand up and I remember <embarassed>... if you are ever running around in faydwer, i always sow for free, but sometimes have to ask for donations because mymoney is so out but I never require donations... so just ask... even though it maybe awhile before i get back on...
