I have found that by checking vendors in zones of itmes you need most people just sell their "junk". Why spend 2 hours farming spider venom sacs when you can hit nearly any newbie killing zones and buy them off of vendors.

Link refers to Poison vials, I know the PoK vendor sells mortar and pestle too. As stated snake and spider sacs can be bought in newbie zones and with PoK popping in and out between them is easy now.
