Crow's Brew instead of "skins" and save some money!
# May 28 2004 at 8:09 AM Rating: Decent
The skins I ahve found to always be a problem, either hunting them yourself or buying them off NPC's and in the bazaar. I suggest using Crow's brew in place of the skins which you can do. You can buy the crows brew in Abysmal Sea for 3s 1c as oppose to like 1pp each liek most skins in the bazaar and it works for most recipes requiring skins I know it does for the Poison, seal poisoned and advanced poison vial recipes. My pottery is up to 194 right thanks to Crows brew. The vendor in Abysmal Sea is Malkidiv U'Ycionuz.
Confused

Ok, Perhaps I am missing something here. All your posts talk of skins, but I do not see them in the recipe. Also, This may seem like a stupid question, but why does a recipe with a triv of 15 require a component crafted by the same skill with a triv of 188? I am just starting out in pottery, but this seems really dumb, how could you ever make the item, if you needed 188 skill for a piece of it, and if your skill is that high, why would you want to?
Look forward to some replies = )

They're listed as generic "Animal Skin" under the unfired sealed poison vial recipe. Long list of suitable skins, almost any that are "usable in tradeskills" that are not low or ruined. The reason the component is a 188 trivial is because, like most pottery items, making a sealed poison vial is a two step process. You first make the unfired version, which is where the skill comes in, and the second step is firing it, which is almost a no-fail.

No Mist Wolf

Tried a Mist Wolf Skin today and wouldn't combine. Switched to a zombie skin to verify all other components were correct and it combined successful.

that should be Thick Grizzly Bear Skin. Use Zombie skins, they have few other uses and they can be found, in merchants, near most of the undead areas.
