Trivial is an old term that is now outdated but still used. It means at what skill level you are when the combine of the components gives you the message like "This item is too trivial for you to learn from", or some such message. Now-a-days ppl get a different message that says "You can no longer gain experience from this item". Hence ppl who did not do tradeskills during 1999 till about 2002, or are new to EQ never knew the old "Trivial" message. Old timers like myself would always watch for the 'trivial' message when doing trade skills because it was the only way to know the cutoff for skill-ups on a combine. PPL would carefully watch and report trivials, mostly on eqtraders.com, back in the day. Thats how that website became famous, that and the list of ingredients for the combines.
