Easiest and cheapest way to level up baking skill is Jord Meat Pies. Usually jord meats are pretty reasonable and you don't need to get other ingredients that must be bought or foraged. Another cheap option is to make cheesy casseroles. Go to Jaggedpine and go crazy killing anacondas or griffons, or just buy vegetables and use them for Cheesy Veg. casserole. Got my cleric to grandmaster for very little money.

I have found that the key to NOT consuming so much of "your food of choice" with stats, all you have to do is carry rations/cheap food. Keep your self full by clicking on these so often. You consume a whole lot less of your good stuff.

You can also reduce your food/drink consumption by half with only 3 AA points. Metabolism. Yes, it's 3 AAs, but if you're in the habit of carrying expensive stat food it's well worth it in the long run and you don't have to remember to keep munching your roots and pods of water.
Success Rate

Success rate is about 80% at 252 Baking.
Inate Meta

Get Innate Metabolism AA before using these. I eat a huge amount less than I used to with Innate meta 3, and live on Kaladims and Tormentor stirfry on raids. I am a DE, and might eat one per raid, max. The rest of the time it's good old Halas meat pies. I never sit on a horse unless I have to EVER. The things are a pain in the hip pocket nerve. As for the combines for these beauties ... I am not even attempting it until I have 250 baking.

Just an FYI....for those that had the old recipe the name has changed from justice fruit to Planar Fruit.....so those lookin to buy the fruit pies in the bazaar look for planar fruit pies no justice fruit pies

Just an FYI ~ I completed this reciepe with a skill of only 194 and had only 3 failures. So if you just want the food and not the earring have at it. 8B

Just to give a frame of reference, I had 75 Justice Fruits after hunting PoJ for a while. Of those 75 attempts at 183 skill, I had a whopping 6 successes. My INT is around 85, nothing eye popping but not terrible either. To think of how much it would take to make all the components of this Party Platter...well, I don't want to think about it!

Grats on whoever does but I hope you can keep yourself full at all times with this in your first slot. :)

You may wanna lay off the subcombines and have someone else do those. As you can see these are no drop so you'll have to do the last combine. The subcombines are much harder then the final combine, it seems within a 50 range and the failure rate lessens significantly, also pick up a baking mod.

Stop trying to make these for now. Your skill is too low to expect decent returns.

If you look up, you'll see that these pies never go trivial.

You may find Dex and Agi buffs help with success rates. This is what I've read, I can't swear it's true.

I believe patty melts go trivial at 191. At that point the griffon and anaconda recipes are a doable option. The ingredients are not difficult to obtain.

If you have int (or wis) under 100 you may find it worth your while to get a stein of mogguk and KEI when you're doing high level tradeskilling. Yes, int/wis makes an enormous difference in your skill ups, though it is said it doesn't affect success rates.

Okay, posting to correct (or clarify) wrong or misleading info I posted back in November.

The pies never went trivial when 250 was the maximum skill one could have in baking.

A Stein of Mogguk has only int. on it, not wis. It's a good piece of swap out gear for anyone with higher base int than wis.

Aside from an Eye of the Griffon, I'm not knowledgable about good swap out Wis gear. Word of warning, the Eye has -20 charisma, so don't wear it when you're shopping.

And nope, Dex and Agi buffs have nothing to do with success rates. I'm glad that argument was finally laid to rest.

Its not true. The only thing that affects success rate is current skill, trivial of item, and any skill modifiers (like geerloks).

Well, first of, the Justice Fruit Pie is trivial at (shoot me if i'm wrong) around 220ish ... so no wonder you had some troubles producing the cakes with skill 183 :)

Secondly, I for myself am at baking 231 with the trophy ... and out of 5 combines i have 3 successes ... so it's not THAT bad actually :)

It pains me to see you throw away justice fruits like that. Here's a hint... Try something that's within 10 of the skill level you're at! Grrrr... I make stacks of fruit pies and hero sandwiches. I have a couple stacks of Slarhlig poppers (sp is wrong, whatever) and THOSE are the most annoying to get. My guild JUST got EP flagged so I plan on farming the claws for my final stage and combine. My baking skill is 237 atm. I'm going to run my food supplies DRY to get as CLOSE to 250 as possible before I attempt this. THIS is the food I do NOT want to fail on combining. At my skill with the baking geerlok stuff, I fail justice fruit pies once out of every stack. hero sandwiches fail a little more, and slar poppers about the same. But farming the Slar parts AND the fact that they're UNSTACKABLE makes that OBNOXIOUS. Anywho, good luck on this. My advice, STOP TRYING to get successes when your skill is so GIMP. At 183 you should stick with Ohabah Truffles. cheaper and will give you more successes.

Can anyone list the levels at which food items are consumed... i.e. Feast < Miraculous etc. I would also like to know drinks levels as well .. i.e. flowing drink vs. whistle wetter

Personally i'm not too sure how fast i eat food but you must also bare in mind that eating the food is also race based. For example races like kitties will go through faster than gnomes.

So to get a true ratio you should get 1 of all the races, but in 3 hours as an iksar i generally go through about 3-5 Misty Thicket Picnics. But then i'm not all that fussed since you just switch out to fish rolls or something when not meleeing

I think even the different "miraculous" foods are different in duration. Halas 10lb meat pies last me about 3-4 times as long as misty thicket picnic, not sure why.

You also consume food MUCH faster when on horseback. You mount eats and drinks too.
