Talisman of Return

I am not sure what other use Quintesence of Knowledge has, but I do know that it is a reagent used with the summoned Mage item 'Talisman of Return' the talisman is a 1 time gate to PoK and you have to have Quintesence of Knowledge on your person for it to work. Is a long ,20 second I think, cast time so it's best used for classes who can't gate and wish to travel to desolate places without porters. In a pinch, I have had the Pally I was duoing with start her gate while I kept pet healed long enough for the gate spell to get her out, then cast mine which has a much shorter cast.
It's a pity that they made the Talismans NO RENT it almost makes the spell worthless, compared to Gate Potions.

The cast time is an abysmal 30 (THIRTY!) seconds, and youre absolutely right, this spell is absolutely worthless! Who the heck wants to summon AND alchemy, then have to carry TWO items just to be able to gate? And to go further into the absurd...NO RENT!
Again, ABSTITIVELY POSOLUTELY WORTHLESS. Thanks again, SOE...wish I had some of what yall were smokin' when you thought this one up.

Before people open their mouths, maybe they should actually do some research. This is not No Rent, the Talisman of Return summoned by Mages are. This is also used with The Binden Concerrentia, which is, not No Rent! So before you make yourself look like a moron, do some research please. It may be a long quest, but when there are people in the Bazaar selling Philter of Translocation potions for 10k, it makes it worth it.

if you search Talisman of Return on this site it brings up an item which it says is TEMPORARY. So forgive me if I'm wrong. I guess that isnt allowed anymore. Tell ya what, I'll leave posting to perfect individuals like yourself that are ALWAYS right.

it's more common usage is probably as the reagent for The Binden Concerrentia, which is unlimited casts of self port to PoK
Trivial is now 15

I bought a 'Summoned: Talisman of Return' that is supposed to gate to the Plane of Knowledge and it told me I needed Quintessence of Knowledge as a component for it. So there's at least one use for Quintessence of Knowledge.

Gate potions have nothing to do with quintessence potions. They trivial at 180 and require 3 yerbimba for the combine. So parts cost more than 1.5 times QoN.

So far, I have been able to sell these pretty well, as more and more people are getting the talismans. I just leave my trader on at night and usually sell a few by morning. =)
not skilled enough
# Jun 11 2003 at 5:43 AM Rating: Decent
Probably a level requirement and a trivial because you can attempt any potion no matter how far under the trivial your skill is
pok gate
# May 01 2003 at 7:42 PM Rating: Decent
if this truely is a pok gate i can see this being very useful for evac in tough areas gets you to saftey also i believe it is not trivial at 21 since i can make blood of wolf but it says im not skilled enough to attempt this one
Also Mage Item Component

Used as a reagent by the Powered Clockwork Talisman (15 charges of PoK Gate)... I expect this will sell pretty well if you have a 24/7 trader (when enough folks have made the talisman's that is!).

Maybe for the 1st 1, but i really dont see this as a big money maker. The second and specially the third versions require bigger guilds for the most part...not sayin yah cant make if not in a big guild, but yah better know some people :)...If yer in a guild that is able to raid elemental plains(needed for 3rd neck) then you have a shaman in guild who will supply the reagent at cost....and btw, this be the 1st reason mele would want a focus effect?
