Does the corking device get consumed in the combine, or is it returned, or at least returned on failure?
No, dear lord, no. The corking device never get's consumed, it's ALWAYS returned in any recipe it's in.
Brewing trophy ?
As Dreadfull said, the corking device is consumed when attempting the brewing trophy. It's not consumed anywhere else. I've updated the recipes that use the corking device to reflect this.
