What server was this on? I just checked this merchant on test and it wasn't there. Possibly someone made it and sold it to the merchant?

Under Merchant Woad:

He actually has a path that the roams.

One end is just inside the zone in from Tox forest on the right hand side. He will stand there for a couple mins before wandering back to his other end.

The second end is next to his caravan wagon in the caravan circle.

There is also a guard roamer that goes on the same path but does not stop at each end. The guard kills any mobs that get trained into the middle of the zone, but no mob ever roams there and there are no spawns in that pathway. Its safe to run down with no invis and what not from the zone in from Toxilla to the merchant camp by the shore.

If you wander off the path you will get jumped by some birds, snakes, alligators, undead, basically everything in the zone.

You can stop merchant Woad at any time by going into purchase mode with him. He will stop and sell you what you want. IF youre trying to stand there and do tradeskills, it gets a little tough because he keeps wanting to wander off while you sell your items and buy new ingredients.

You can do tradeskill combines using the auto-maker tool in your sewing kit once you have a memorized recipe without closing the trade window with the merchant. That makes it easier because you can just keep selling him stuff as you make it. The same thing works for your jewelry kit and the conduits.

If you are working on new items and need to actually pick up an ingredient because you are in "Experiment" mode, then you have to close the merchant window and catch up with him in the middle of his roaming path when you need him again.

Now that the tradeskilled items are no longer Lore, it makes it a ton easier because we used to have to sell each item as we made it in order to make another. That meant keeping the merchant window open during every combine.
