it seems that you can use Crows special brew to make poison vials now (in place of the skins)which is vendor bought.
Well I just respond as I read the posts.....Use Zombie skins as I recall. Cheap in the bazaar and easily farmed.
[:banghead] I have been making poison vials and farming skins. I had 2 stacks of Grizzly Bear Skins. These do not combine . They have to be thick Grizzly Bear Skins. Hope this will help others who have all those grizzly bear skins.

LQ cat pelts do not work. Only MQ and HQ pelts work.

On the ingredients list above, it doesn't list skins as an ingredient. Only High Quality Firing Sheet, Water Flask, Vial Sketch, and Small block of clay. Where do skins come into the equation at??? Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance

At least so long as you're not KOS there...
Pottery vendors are located close to kiln and wheel, and the newbie area of the Innothule Swamp (just outside the city) is chock full of Zombies. Can often get several stacks of zombie skins just by buying them off of the vendor outside or from the vendors inside. In my case (139 charisma, conning indifferently by froggie vendor) for about 1gp each.

Ok, now that i have ALMOST trivialed on poison vials, i found a trader selling grizzly bear skins, and having printed this out, i bought 100 of them so i can contine with lined vials. I was thinking WHOOT! a *stash*! well, i found out they DO NOT COMBINE! Boy was i upset! staying with what i can find that does work, low/med/hi quality wolf, cat bear, polor bear and puma. So , save your plat and time, ignore the grizzly bear skins.

Anybody else have bad luck with the zombie skin? I thought these would be eaisiest and cheapest to attain, but they seem to fail and not give trivial advancements for me and I just was curious if anyone else had that problem too?

You can buy these from the Dark Elf in the tunnel under West Freeport. Is right fate you enter the secret passage on your left as you are facing the gate.

Has anyone tried to use Lq rockhoppers to make vial, they do not state weather you can use any luclin type?

I don't know about using the Low Quality Rockhopper hides for the vials, but the High Quality Rockhopper hides CAN be used for tailoring the 10 slot 10 percent weight reduction bags.

In my experience only original EQ skins work for standard pottery and tailoring items. For example, I couldnt use a HQ Snow Cougar or a HQ Dire Wolf Pelt to make Reinforced Leather Armour.
notice they use skins not pelts. those 2 pelts u mention are used in other tailoring recipies, and even quest's. again neither is a SKIN.

That doesn't really matter. The terms skin and pelt are used interchangeably in EQ.
