My only thought is to make sure you're using 2 Clumps of Dough and that they're unstacked.

I have been making these pies for a week or more. I currently have a skill of only 176, so I do fail quite a bit. Thats ok though, as the parts are easy to acquire and my bank is not full of components.

My concern is simmilar to Poggi's post in that I have yet to gain a single point in baking skill. Can anyone elaborate on this?

Combined 3 1/2 stacks and went up 2 points.

from 191 skill to 193 skill.

Doesn't seem too bad, maybe you just had a streak of bad luck.

Agreed....I made about 20 stacks of pies, and my skill went up about 5 points. So it does go up, just slowly....

I made about a backpack full of these before my skill went from 202 to 203. Thats with a 65 Necro with 280int.

So at least the recipe isn't completely broken in that respect.

ok, as a 64 shaman, str is no problem ( maxxed at 275 atm). I used to carry misty thicket picnic's, witch are NO fun to make, as food of
choise. Now, with my wisdom maxxed as well, and a drogmor to feed, these are MUCH better! Drogmor doesnt eat me out of my supply and i can sell M.T.P.'s in bazaar. The combines are easy and aquiring items as well are just plain simple. Oh, and it clears out bank space as well since you don't have to trek all over Norrath to gather componets to store so you can spend 10 minutes failing, er..making them after 45 minutes gathering items to start combines to do more combines to start the combines to just get started....and so on. one of the best items for bakers imho. Thanks for listening to me rave on and on....

Do I need 1 of every meat??
# Jan 26 2004 at 3:16 PM Rating: Decent
Hello all,

Never tried making these but at 191 trivial now I'm thinking of starting. The question I have is do I need one of each of the 4 meats for the pie?

Thanks

Mammoth combine??
# Jul 17 2003 at 6:15 PM Rating: Decent
Ok having a problem, I cannot combine the mammoth steak with the creamy fennel sauce, I keep getting the message: these items cannot be combined in this container, i have tried a collapsible spit, an oven (pok) and a mixing bowl. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong??

Ive been able to make the 3 other kinds of meat in cream just not the mammoth.

Mammoth STEAK? I think this is your problem. Its supposed to be mammoth FILLET.

I've made the mammoth in cream sauce using mammoth fillets, so the recipe does work. BTW you get 10 mammoth fillets per mammoth meat, which is nice.

is it the same for wolf meat? Or is it just mammoth, (which would make sense since wooly mammoths are so much larger than wolves)

You get 10 each for the two that are made with drop only meat. 1 each from the two storebought types of meat.

I have been absent from Everquest for about 3 weeks, I used to be able to sell Halas 10lb meat pies for 3p5g at the LOWEST on the tribunal. I come back and start baking again and people are selling them for 1p9g?!?! I spent 700p buying these people out and then there are people selling them for 2p. What is happening?!?
RE: whats going on?!?!
# Jun 11 2003 at 6:21 PM Rating: Default
Why would you you think that buying them out would work. They will just make more, and you will lose more money than u make instead of just selling for 1plat8gp.....think

Mammoth Meat
# Feb 28 2003 at 8:12 AM Rating: Decent
I've found that the mammoths in Eastern Wastes are a great for stocking up on mammoth meat which I can never seem to find at a vendor. Pet manticores eat them up like tic tacs. I commonly find wolf meat on vendors near newbie/lowbie areas with wolves like the Karana zones but don't bother checking for them right after a patch. These 2 meats I commonly have to hunt for.

Stat food works when it's the NEXT food you will eat. Put it in your inventory so it's ahead of any other food, and your stats will go up. Eating it won't raise your stats, it's when you are going to eat it NEXT that it works.

I figure the 10 pounds must be pre-cooking weight. You know, like a quarter-pounder :)

How greasy?
# Oct 18 2002 at 12:17 PM Rating: Good
Hmm, so the eal weight would depend on how greasy it is, and how much of that melts off during cooking...

All that meat and creamy fennel sauce...

MMM, now I'm hungry...

There is no unit of measurement on weights in EQ. If you think of them as lb. then you are free to do so. Others may think of them as kilos, stones, grams, nuclear mass or whatever.

Well, except that this IS called a 10 lb meat pie, therefore, one would suspect that lbs Do exist in EQ, they are just not the standard scale of measurement. 1lb = .72 whatever the heck the standard weight is (stones?)

Lion and Bear are dropped, however they are both purchasable as well.

Also, everything that needs to be purchased can be found in ShadowHaven if you prefer over Thurgadin.

Recipe Breakdown
# Sep 07 2002 at 2:48 PM Rating: Excellent
In my opinion, this has been one of the most enjoyable baking items to make. Some of you may not much care for the work
involved, but I enjoy the many steps you go through to create the final product. Not only does the pie offer some very
respectable stat mods, most all of the items are easily acquired.

No offense to Allakhazam, but I am going to attempt to make the creation process a little bit easier to break down, including
my shopping list of where to attain most of the items.

First, make sure that you have 1 mixing bowl, 1 dairy spoon, 1 filleting knife and 1 pie tin.

Now, to break down the ingredients that comprise the pie.

Clumps of Dough:
1 Flour, 1 Milk, 1 Egg
Combine in a mixing bowl
Trivial at 17 baking skill.
(I recommend using Drake, Wurm eggs as this will yield 12 or 14 Clumps of Dough respectively.)

Cream:
2 Milk, 1 Benzoin, 1 Dairy Spoon (returned)
Combine in a mixing bowl.
Trivial at 83 baking skill.
Yield 6.

Creamy Fennel Sauce:
1 Cream, 1 Flour, 1 Fennel
Combine in a mixing bowl.
Trivial at 75 baking skill.
Yield 6.

**Please Note**
The pie uses 4 different meats. These meats are Bear, Lion, Wolf and Mammoth.
When making the fillets, and fillets in cream, only combine 1 meat type at a time with its corresponding ingredient(s).

Fillets of ____ :
1 meat type (either Bear, Lion, Wolf, or Mammoth), 1 filleting knife (returned)
Combine in Spit or Oven
All fillet of ____, are trivial at 143 baking skill.
*Please note** Successful Mammoth and Wolf combines yield 10 fillets. Lion and Bear yields 1 fillet.

Fillet of _____in Cream:
1 fillet (either Bear, Lion, Wolf, Mammoth), 1 Creamy Fennel Sauce
Combine in Spit or Oven
All Fillet of ____ in Cream, are trivial at 152 baking skill.
All yields are 1.

**AND NOW FOR THE FINAL COMBINE**

2 Clumps Dough (Unstacked)
1 Bear Fillet in Cream
1 Lion Fillet in Cream
1 Wolf Fillet in Cream
1 Mammoth Fillet in Cream
1 Sage Leaf
1 Pie Tin (returned on Success or Fail)
Combine in Oven
Trivial at 226 baking skill
Yields 6 pies.
