The Gnome
 | The Gnome starts off in the far city of Ak'Anon on the continent of Faydwer and generally hunts in the Steamfont Mountains during his or her formative years. Gnomes get their own unique trade skill: tinkering. What is the best strategy for playing a Gnome? What zones and cities should you take him to and which ones should you avoid? Which factions should you work on improving, and which factions should you be wary of decreasing? What are the best quests in Ak'Anon for the beginning Gnome? Where are the best shops in Ak'Anon? How should you role play your gnome?

Deities are important for factions. You will be attacked in evil cities for your Deity alone, an ENC should be agnostic to allow himj max access tot he different hometowns of the races.

Haha...that's pretty funny. I guess on the other hand, ogres do make quite a banquet for the gnome population. Although the meat needs ALOT of seasoning...and those ears are a bit tough, kinda like beef jerky.
P.S (and what is that smell...for the love of Brell take a bath in something other than a sawmp)

I'll pickled bat brains before i eat an ogre, it makes me wana barf just thinkin about it. Now froglok on the other hand, fry up a few of those legs and you got a meal fit for a king.=P

I have a 59th level gnome shadow knight. gnomes are awesome because they are so short, funny looking, and have small hands. I find that the best place to go treasure hunting is in the north forest, although you have to watch out for klaus, the elder dragon that lives there. if you can get by him, you can get a sword of flaming justice. it allows you to kill anybody in pretty much one hit. I have one, and all of my everquest playing friends are offering me 600 gold duckets and 15000 republic credits. see yall later

I have created a gnome paladin now lvl 15. I am fairly twinked. CB and Blackburrow are mostly green to me. Can you suggest someplace to hunt. I prefer to solo if possible but have a few options for partners. I really need to raise the lvl of my char please any suggestions will be seriously considered. I have all the expansions.

How hard is it to do tinkering as a gnome necro? Does it make it simply difficult or downright impossible?

I was running through Grater faydark and i had accedently attacked a nexus at the wizzy spires. Needless to say that i was killed Instantly. I was extreamly mad because i lost my exp. Through my hatered i studied the creature and i devised the most extravagant scheme ever. I was wondering if my fellow Citizens of norrath would aid me. Darkies and Lighties come together in a mass horde to take one down. "What's in it for me" a person might ask. Well i think that not only the feeling you get from uniting with all of the inhabitants of norrath to squash a common evil but a great possibilty of an uber pay off and Extream exp or maybe nothing just a cold hard defeat.I am not really sure if they drop anything or if they even give exp.They are most likely the least killed Npc in the game. I have heard of one or two being killed but to my knowlage no loot has ever been identified. There are only a couple of reasons why i have not been able to find the loot items either 1. The uber guild who took one down came up with an awsome item that they dont want to get nerfed because of 1000000 crying lowbies saying its too powerfull so they did not add it to new item lists 2. None of them have ever been killed 3. Normal Loot for lvl of mob 4. No loot :( Now i am not really sure yet of the master plan but i am thinking along the lines of a massive head on attack group attack at random with no aperant stratagey.A person could even make a mule char and lvl to 5 or 6 toe just for this battle.Toe to Toe with the Unchecked Evil of the world. Or i have got a more methodical aproach. Erudites are probably the best spell casters, and dark elves are pretty good, too. High Elves are the most popular race. If you don't have a problem with faction be a dark elf. Erudites and high elves are good after that.

Hey, I was reading around I noticed not to many Rogues are Gnome. Is there something to a disadvantage with being a Gnome Rogue, or is it just not to popular. Reason asking is b/c I was thinking or starting up one myself. If anybody has any insight or sugestions, thanks.
The reason you don't see alot of gnome rogues is because of the gnomes size. Backstab turns into Achilies tendon cut. Though the NPC would not be able to run after you (think Sara Connor trying to get away from the terminator after the pipe bomb), They'll still pose a considerable threat.

I play a Gnome Rouge on Perxus, I have found that the high int and dex/agil make it a great choice for getting skills up quickly. The only drawback I find with him is his low Str/Sta, but you can get dozens on useful STR/STA items for rouges. I find it harder to find as cheap items that buff Agil and Dex. Gnomes are awsome for RP and humor value bu the best answer to your question is that if the class is an option for your race it can be played effectively. If you wanna min max, you can debate this all day depending on cash/item availibility but if you think it would be cool to be a particular race/class then you should do it. There are so many items/buffs you can get to make up for anything you think you lack with some effort.

I am starting a gnome necro. I am looking for any hints on what I should do what points I should put where and where I should huntand so on
I play on Zeb server, Have always played a gnome race since beta for EQ(until recently I have a Kitty Beastlord.) AS far as INT really just toss as much as ya can into int I think 133 is max. Toss rest into your other green highighted skill.
Pretty much hunt out of the city in Steamfont you can lvl well there till about lvl 13 or so.
Also since the implication of newbiew armor quests your trainer Mournunder look for another with his last name he/she gives out the armor quest. Also here on this site you can goto quests then choose Akanon zone and look up the newbie armor quest for necromancers and get details where and what to do.

Hello everyone, I've been thinking about making a Gnome Wizard, does anyone have any tips in general (where to hunt, where to gain money to buy spells, etc) that you can share with me? This is going to be my first Gnome, my first small race really. I've heard good things about these guys so I've decided to go ahead and try one out vice the other races that can be wizzys. I figure the tinkering skill will help bring in some extra money which is always a good thing since spells tend to cost an arm and a leg in the later levels.

Hey all anyone out there play on the server Vallon Zek? If u do send JaGu a tell if he is on.I would say personlly that necros were the best cuz the are the best at twelv they could take like a 14 or 15 ranger at that lvl! ITS INSANE!!

Can kill a ranger if his back turned, but if he catches your back to turned he can root you very quickly and make quick work of a little necromancer.

As a gnome necro, it has pained me to have to go to the sewers of Qeynos to get my spells. I am a follower of Bertox, and there is a nice little powerbase there in the Qeynos Aquaduct system.
To make your trip as easy as possible, go into south Qeynos, just past the bank and down under the arena. There will be a gate (which you open, then pass down the halls until you see another door opening (without door and a guard there). pass through this opening and go to the room with many doors. One of these will be the door leading to the secret entrance to the aquaducts (As you enter the room, it will be the door just to the right of the guy in the main room then hug the right wall).
Once in the Aquaduct system, keep right until you see another gate ... this is the entrance into Bertoxx's domain (including shd, clc, wiz, and nec guilds). Also has a bank in there!
Go kill more ...

I Play a 60 Gnome Warrior and I will list you the advantages and Disadvantages
Gnome Warriors get Infravision, They never need to be shrunk, They have good Agi and Dex and have the best toys. Gnomes can use Clockwork Armor, if you can afford this stuff Buy it. The Arms give Haste(41% chanter haste), The Legs Give SoW, Gauntlets give 30Str Buff and Breastplate give Invisibilty. The arms are the best Item around (300-500p in bazaar).
Gnomes look great, nothing nicer than a little gnome Tanking a Dragon.
Disadvantages is we get a less Stamina than some of the big races about 180hp worth at level 60 but its not a big deal because we have a higher agi which means we will be hit a little less and also hit more often, I find it quite easy to keep a good taunt off others. Also Gnomes can get Stuned from the front like all races except Ogres. Gnomes Also make a great Shadow Knight.
