Here are some more...

1. In areas where there are lots of ups and downs (Black Burrow and the like) use the number pad 3 key to tilt your view down a little bit. You can see you path better....don't go down to far or you won't be able to see monsters you are chasing when going up a slope.

2. With all the bear pelts around, tailoring is a natural trade skill. And plenty if spider silks can be found out on the tundra.

3. Quick money at early levels. Get a SOW, and slaughter decaying skeletons brandishing a weapon.

4. Get that box for the ice goblin necklace quest...you can use it for a backpack at early levels....just open/close it with the right click so you never endanger your items with the combine button.

5. Remember, barbs can wear medium armor, and its usually cheaper than large.

6. Barbs are blind at night, you can always turn up the brightness on your monitor to compensate. Once you start going to Blackburrow, keep an extra light source in the bank....running the tunnel down to the BB zone can be tough when you can't see. You can also have a friend lead you down and follow the blue name.

7. If you have done the Langseax quest a couple times, beware the roaming barb Marter....you become KOS to him. I haven't checked but I would imagine you'd want to stay away from the rogue guild hall as well.

8. I didn't mention it in the first set of tips, but know the ice hole locations in the river so you can lead people to them.

On point number six, about the spare light source.
If you are a barb. shaman, the burst of flame spell can be cast on yourself
and it will light up an area for a second. Had to use this method once
to go down the BB tunnel.

In the BB tunnels, you can bcak down the passage quite easily -- turn around and back up, keeping the light source in view until you hit the wall (behind you). It will slide you in the direction that you need to go. Then turn and find the next light source -- once past it, turn around and back away down the tunnel again. I never had a problem doing it this way.

I learned at an early lvl to always keep an extra light, food, water and weapon in the bank for corpse runs so as Not to have to stumble in the dark nor fight hand to hand. Also, never hurts to ask for Serpent Sight and Spirit of Wolf from a healer.

After I zone, I stick against the wall so I don't end up running around like I have just been decapitated. I follow the wall until it breaks into an opening or see the camp fire, I suggest buying a lantern though, You'd be amazed by the diffrence!

Some tips to make those first few levels less painful. Please read them - a lot of us
died many times to bring you this information.

1) If you plan on getting a shield or training up a two-handed weapon skill then make an effort to either buy a fire-beetle eye or run through Black Burrow (not stopping to fight) and hunt for one near Qeynos. Its not as good as a lantern but you'll find the extra protection or damage worth it.

2) The polar bear cubs drop high-quality hides so make it a point to hunt the cubs as soon as you can and in large numbers. Even without a single high-quality hide you can get basic armor and sewing materials plus a small nest egg, and just a few HQ hides sold to a player will see you better equiped than many players twice your level and still have enough to take up a trade skill or save for a better weapon. Also, save a few of the skins for Krag Icebear. The cloak he makes provides extra defence against the frost-spells used by ice bone skeletons and snow orc shamans, and can be stockpiled and sold for profit to players in Freeport or Faydwer or given to your group members (and the favor called in later when you really need that resurrection).

3) Learn the routes between Black Burrow, Halas, the two guard posts, and the towers and ice-holes in the tundra. You'll spend a lot of time hunting around and between them, and if you know the way to each one you can try to keep ahead of that red monster on your tail and not get hopelessy lost in the process. Very little can ruin your day faster than being killed and realizing you don't know where your corpse is. Necros don't frequent Everfrost so don't count on finding one when you need one.

4)Keeping aware is keeping alive. If you want to avoid dying constantly, then stay aware of your surrondings at all times. When your in a melee occasionally go to an out-of-body view to see if a second creature is trying to get you in the back and if one is then move to put them both to your front. When your going between two points on a long run, occasionally stop and check in a 360 degree arc to make sure nothing nasty is heading your way, and check the terrain ahead for areas where a monster could remain unseen until you stumble into its attack range. One of the fastest ways to die is out there is to not see that yellow version of the blue your fighting until its too late.

Some tips for the new Barbarian.

1. SLAM SLAM SLAM. Hotkey it, and durring battle never let it lighten...:')

2. Everfrost has the best newbie area in the game, so utilize it. Warrior/Shaman teams just rock. Know how to get to a. the ramp, b. 3 guard, c. 1 guard.

3. Anytime you see a skeleton start making a bee-line to you....run. The Vengeful's can make life a tad bit interesting for newbie barbs.

4. Always swim to Halas and back, even if the raft is there....Newbies should always learn to swim.

5. Take up fishing. Shamans, save those fish scales. Its a bit of extra money and you can get in 5-6 Sense Headings each cast.

6. Do goblin Necklace, orc wrist band, and elixir for you warriors quests. Once you find or learn quests combine them. Lion's Delight quest can be combined with mail quests. When you get to qeynos you can do a couple more quests on your way to WK. On your way back, stop back in qeynos and get the letter for surefall Glade. Know you quests and combine them.

7. Take all gnoll fangs to the fighter guild in Qeynos. Much better exp than from the Halas version of the quest.

8. Everfrost can support characters from 1-25...if you get bored there is always Black Burrow.

9. Learn how to get from BB to Halas quickly....people always offer money for a guide.

10. Know the other landmarks in Everfrost. N Tower, S Tower, platform with poision spell merchant, Permafrost Entrance, tunnel, holes in river, giant statue, icy orc temple.

11. Some people will pay nice for you to be a bank when they are killing ice giants. They will also sell the FS weapons cheap so they don't have to run to a merchant.

12. Don't cross the river until you can kill an orc mountianere....wtch out for orc shaman's and stay away from the icy orcs.

13. A very good party can do the entrance of permafrost in the high teen's.
