Merrily Met!!

Halflings are the best.

I still wish we could be Rangers. Monks, hmmm, it would be cool and all but I think watching a barefooted midgit doing a roundabout kick may be just what I need to fall over dead laughing, lol.

Goldey Locks, your leveling post was great, if you could share ur secredts with us that be great!!

If some one just wants to lvl as fast as possible, take a halflnig warrior because they lvl really fast. I tried one and it went to lvl 8 in like 1 hour. When your in your low lvls, don't stop fightting if you kill a rat and still have half or more health, turn around and kill another, don't stop and it will get you high up.

# Aug 25 2001 at 10:34 PM Rating: Decent
Halfling warriors end up with about 30% xp bonus because of halfling 20% xp bonus and warrior 10% xp bonus. My hlf war went from lvl 1 to 10 in about 2 hours with some minor twinking (dwarven ringmail tunic and a sarnak eitchatka). They are a helluva lot of fun, but are a little lacking in the early levels. GL all of you.

I want to help out the halfling druids out there. Don't make the mistake I did and get someone to port you somewhere else in the world cuz it's not helpful. Stay on one side of the wall in misty until lvl 4. then try to find a big group all your lvl and go to the other side of the wall. Even with a big group get your sprinting shoes on cuz a lot of beasties will attack and kill you all. Always stay close to guards. At lvl 10 you should still be in Misty. After that I'll let you decide where to go.
Weapon
# Jul 31 2001 at 3:39 AM Rating: Decent
Well I forgot to state this in my first message so I'm stating it now.

Well I'm interested in buying a new weapon. The current weapons I have is a Dagger and a Shortsword. I have 86pp to spend (all of it from looting HQ Bear Skins) on a new weapon. I would prefer a dagger of sorts I'm a Rogue lvl8 and located in MT.

Thanks for your help.

Rogues
# Jul 31 2001 at 3:03 AM Rating: Decent
Well I love my rogue. I love role-playing him. I try to make him as much like Samwise Gamgee as I can. HE FRICKEN ROCKS.

Well back to the subject that was never started. Should I Get Higher Strength or Dex or Agility. My currents Stats are Str:73 Agi:120 Dex:118.

Another thing is being a Non-Twinked halfling its hard to live up to everyone else where should I hunt?
RE: Rogues
# Aug 29 2001 at 5:56 PM Rating: Default
STR yes! ITs the rogue PRIMARY stat. Dexterity is a second. AGI is pointless unless you tank.
RE: Rogues
# Sep 07 2001 at 8:57 AM Rating: Default
ARE YOU A FREAKIN IDIOT?!

Rogues need dex more than ANY other stat, agility is a the second stat you need most....str doesn't even come in on the chart, ROGUES DO NOT NEED STRENGTH! get it through your head....phew, I need to go flame somewhere else...I hate newbies who think they know everything after playing for an hour and then logging off to go share it on the message furom.

Very nice guide, but a couple of things.

For you halfling warriors, AGI does VERY little to increase AC, and Dodge is calcualted by your Dodge skill. I would suggest sinking most of your points into STA, becasue it is one of the harder stats to raise, and you are a meatshield (so need high HPs).

For you halfling clerics and druids, I would only suggest bringing your WIS up to 110. It is very easy to break 200 with a base WIS of 110, any other points added are really just a waste. I would put the rest in STA, STR, or CHA, in that order.

A very nice guide, Goldey Loks. But surely, Crazy Cleric armor is from Plane of Mischief, not from Velious...

WOW!!! I think Halflings are great - but that isn't why I came to the Strategy Guide page to find out - I came to find some insight on playing a Halfling!!! And this is it. This may be the best quickie strategy guide of all the races I have ever seen!! Thanks Goldey, I printed it and I am going to use it today.

I hope to go and look up your Knights of the Vale web page and maybe even join you, if I can. I also hope to see more of your posts like this one, I would really like to see those secrets of Rivervale you were talking about.

To the wee assling who asked for leather boots. Most vendor boots are sold in diff places than the rest of the armor, the closest for you would be the vendor in kithicor forest near the commons zone. Be sure you go in the day time, the locals do hardcore drugs at night and weird stuff goes down.

Do Halflings have a boosted travel speed (aka auto-sow or something like that) or is it just that they're always Druids and are always castin SoW on themselves?

Beyond the wall are rats bats and snakes that will be level 4 or 5 that you can kill, plus if you're gettin murdered by them or those frickin, rogue hatin' SOB Kodiaks, you can just run to the deputies at the wall. Also the gob's are really fun to fight, but I think 6-9 is a more appropraite level for them, but bring friends.

The prime reason a warrior is in a party is to taunt. Not to try and out dammage a wiz(itll never happen definetly after 30th). Where a warrior is doing 250 to 300 otal points of dammage to a critter with 2000 hit points, your nuker will do over half of the total dammage. So let go of some ego that you have to impress your party with dammage output and relize that you are the party masechist. Now as your prime reason in the part are to take the blows and taunt to keep others from taking the blows then obviously when you have the monsters attention you want him to MISS as much as possible. The cleric or shammy doesnt have to waste all his mana on you cause your an arrow catcher and have took 500 points of dammage because you are to slow to get out of the ways of the blows.Cleric spends more time doin his DOT's and less down time from sitting. As a halfling warrior because of high agility and a necessary high AC(most important stat period for a warrior. You will have a higher AC than a Ogre or troll of the same level as long as both are wearing comprible armor. Sure your big and impressive with dammage output as an Ogre or Troll but at higher level the extra 100 to 200 in dammage that the ogre will do compared to a halfling is insignificant when the critter has over 5000 hit points. Warrior is a group member not a soloist. So wouldnt you put the good of the group ahead of your own. I have been praised many times by the other party members for being able to get the nasties off them. Not the little extra dammage that can be done as a large warrior race. A straight fight between an ogre and halfling wouldnt deffenitly have the Ogre as the victor. But unless you are a PK dueling is only 5%to 0% of your online experience. Instead you will spend countless hours in groups accomplishing a common goal. Those that brag about Ogre or Troll output dammage are in the wrong proffesion play a nuker. If you want to be able to go to Sol B unless you have a shammy your ogre will **** off more people than please by him getting stuck in every corridor(unless you have a shammy that follows you around). I have played countless RPG's and always got rid of the warrior that my healer had to spend all of their mana keeping a Warrior with a low AC and High Hit points. What is the point of Hit points if you take no dammage? Jack up your AC.

Starting Stats
# Jul 07 2001 at 6:40 AM Rating: Decent
Have recently started a Halfling Druid and just love him to bits. Now wish to start a Halfling warrior. But how to i distribute 25 starting points? Put it all in Dex and Str? I have read that there is no real advantage in having a DEX over 100, until 150 that is. Any advice from my furry footed *** kicking brethren would be appreciated.

First of all, I would likke to mention the most retarded person I know, Mr. Wood elf, the people that play those dumb wanna-be merchants THINK that they have better Dex, agi, and sta than halflings, well I would just like to say, wood elves really, suck, they ust make alright druids, but halflings make better druids.

Now, back to the subject that I havent even started, halfling warriors rock, they have great dex, agi and stam, oops, gotta go cya

Halflings RULE!! I am a lvl 12 Cleric Halfie and i am the most loved character on EQ (except by them minor races Trolls and Ogres - who suck! so don't count). I haven't found a creature on EQ that hasn't liked my Xtra Hairy features!! (Hairy IS Sexy!!!!).

Rogues are cool - but i'm sorry guys, not as cool as Clerics - name a group who doesn't need one... there you have it - my point exactly!!!

For some reason, don't ask me why, Halflings get a 10% Exp bonus (or so I am told and have read), at least Halfling Warriors do. This, accompanied by their inately high Agi and Dex, is a HUGE assest to leveling. Rogues, whom I am told depend on their Dex for the advancement of their "special" abilities, get really good really fast because of their high Dex. The high Agility means Halflings dont get hit by foes as much, so are less likely to die in combat, plus I believe (though I may be wrong here) that their diminutive size makes them tougher to hit by large foes.
In short(pun intended), Halflings have a bunch of advantages right from the get go.
It's no wonder you all like them soooo much.
Now if only Gnomes had all these advantages too...
