Your Good Friend CB
# Oct 24 2000 at 9:20 AM Rating: Decent
As a dwarf warrior, I started out in the usual place in the newbie garden outside Kaladim. Stay there till 5. After there, move on to the crossroads if your bent is still towards soloing. I soloed there till about level 10. Then I moved to the Chessboard for about another level. Then it was on to CB. Personally, I think that CB is a dwarf's best friend. The xp is decent (although I will admit it is probably better elsewhere), but the money you will make by collecting CB belts and lego pads more than made up for it. I probably made 200pp+ selling them to people who want to level their Faydwer characters fast. The throne room is a great camp starting at 14-15, and was still fairly lucrative till I moved on to the Oasis at lvl 17. The Oasis is great for xp, but if you want loot, DON'T go there. There is no loot. Then I moved on to the pumpkin fields in WK, which is great xp still at 21 (and you can solo easily) the only problem is the ammount of downtime between the spawns. Anyway, enough rambling from an overtired insomniac dwarf. Fight well.
Magician Guild

Since I am new to evercrack, I am thinking about buying the game and starting a gnome magician (my buds say i should play that). Though they are high level (45), they have never been in the gome city (nor have any of their clannies). Could someone provide me simple newbie directions for finding the magician guild in the gnome city? Plase email the directions to d_w_b_@hotmail.com

thank you

Download the maps under the Faydwer Zones ... you want Ak'Anon. Plenty of good ones to chose from, but I find that EQAtlas tends to be the best.

Can anyone please tell me what faction the guards in the Butcherblock mountains belong to?

Thanks,

its probably stormguard because that is the warrior's guild and that is usually who the guards are with

To raise faction, kill the orcs in CB. This'll get you pretty high. I've seen trolls hanging out at the guard post at the Crossroads.
Ideal Paladins and Clerics
# Aug 18 2000 at 10:27 AM Rating: Decent
With their naturally high Strength and Wisdom, as well as Stamina, Dwarves make ideal Paladins and Clerics. By the same token, they make quite decent warriors, as well. I'm just partial to having spells, in addition to melee-ing.

NOTE: Remember to boost the Agility above 75, though, to avoid the AC hit.

Dwarven Pallies

Ok, i have a dwarf pally. You have no need to boost agility, add ALL of your points into wisdom, for 108 wisdom. The reason you dont need high agility is because dwaraves can wear heavy armour. ASAP buy some leather and you'll barely get hit! As soon as you get enough buy an Axe of the Iron Back, they cost about 50 pp. On my level 11 pally i amd doiny a round 30+ damage. But one thing is for shure, as SOON as you can, move to FreePort. You will Level like MAD. If you are on the Prexis server, give me a call, i'll help in any way i can.
Rulaal<Norraths Army> Prexis server

P.S. a GREAT way to get money in FP is to get in an orc group and sell the DF Slashed Blets, or you can turn in the belts for insane experence. Have FUN!!

Paladins are hybrids. They are a jack of all trades cross between the cleric and the warrior. So set your stats up the same way.

I originally set my stats up as follows:
str 100
sta 100
agi 80
dex 90
wis 88
int 60
char 60

I kind of rounded everything out and I'm very happy with the results. Since then I've picked up items to get my agi and dex over 100 and boosted my str up a bit more to 115. My wisdom is sitting right at 100 as well after buying some jewelry from a friend.

For newbie equipment, go get yourself a Dwarven Tunic, a dwarven axe and a shiney brass sheild. They drop in crushbone and can be bought in greater feydark. The tunic and shield go between 10 to 15 plat, and the axe can be had for around 4 to 6 plat. For the rest, you'll have to sniff around, but buying small banded for around 8 gold per ac point is a good bet. The low delay, one handed weapon combined with your bash skill is a very good tactic.

If you have the time and patience, go to Ak'Anon and do the bullsmasher quest. you'll find details on this web page about it.

Also, make a journey to Misty Thicket and Rivervale and get yourself a Rantho Rapier. Best weapon for training your 2H slash in the game. Keep your 2H slash trained up for when you get double attack and can afford an Axe of the Iron Back. And you'll be drooling over a SoulFire anyway.

One last bit of advice. Collect all the bone chips you can. The dwarf paladin bone chip quest is THE best newbie quest in the game.

Good luck and may Brell give you firm footing

I am Delkor. A level 15 dwarven paladin. Paladins get their first spells at level 9. The next spells come at 15, those are the ones that I just bought today upon getting to the 15th level.
My advice to young dwarven paladins is to start off by going to the Paladin guild hall, which is behind the Cleric guild hall(The Cleric guild hall is behind the bank) and saying hail to a dwarf named Gunlok, when you find him. He will tell you about the undead. You must return 4 bone chips to him, that you can loot of decaying dwarf skeletons after you kill them. For every 4 that you return to him, he will give you rusty weapons, or leather armor. You can use this until you get to about level 8-10.
After you get to level 8-10, you can try to find someone that is selling a DRT(Dwarven Ringmail Tunic). This is a very good tunic for the level that you will be. These tunics are usually sold for about 10-15 platinum. By this time, you should try to get a better weapon. A Fine Steel Two-Handed Sword is probably the perfect weapon for you at this level. What would be even better is if you could get a maagic weapon. Many higgher level monsters and creatures are almost impossible to fight without a magic weapon.
When you get to level 17-20, you should probably to find someone selling a real breastplate. And maybe even some other plate armor. You should also try to find another weapon that is better than what you have.
By the time you hit level 20, I am assuming that you can take care of yourself. So this is where I stop. Good-Bye, and good luck to all of you Dwarves Paladins.

To the person who posted nothing needs to be put into agility, you are wrong. Agility needs to get up to 75 because there is a hump there that gives you around 40AC points.. after that, don't worry about agility items.

Now if u want i think u should start out by getting RM or brnz i got a full suit of both by 5. goto unrest (invis vs undead and sow) and buy some of the above armor and dont goto FP thats a bad idea aand if u can get something other then AOIB ok every little newbie i see has one try for umm a RC or GZ both are pretty easy to get and sell low prices and 1hs's and 1hb's and maybe 2hb's

hehe, have you ever heard of punctuation? Or perhaps using capitol letters where they should go? FP is perhaps the best place to level from 1-5... The decaying skeletons are very easy to find if you choose to go the bone chip route. If you choose to go to Unrest be careful. What he didn't tell you is that the goblins in Dagnor's Cauldron will eat you for lunch then spit you out into the water. And yes, I know you can avoid them but it's still a hazardous run when all it takes to kill you is 3-5 hits from Dwigus.

Wisdom is a nice thing to have, but you also need to think about dex for wepons that proc (i.e. Ghoulbane) Before you say, "It Don't Matter" from personal exp I know that it does. I have a 31 pally on Sol Ro. I had a Shaman do some DEX buffs and i was fighting mostly blue and red mobs. I never proc'd with my GhoulBane more than that night. When I created my paladin, I put half the starting points into WIS (90 or 95 wis starting . . . can't remeber) and then divided the remaining points between AGI and DEX. There are enough WIS, DEX, and AGI items in the game, that by the time you hit 20 (Level needed to GB to Proc) that you should do well with this wepon into the 40's. Then trade that baby in for a Soul Fire.

I am Albrecht Hammerfell. Rightfull heir to the throne, but fallen Stormhammer nonetheless. Kazon is my brother by blood, but dont respect him for his crown. He is nothing more than a pawn. Our father Sarjibar Stornmahammer was king of Kaladim for over 220 years till he was assasinated in a very strange manner. We all have our own theories, but all I know is, once my great father was killed, my brother was never the same.

In time, Kazone sensed that I knew of his deception. For in the time, Albrecht Stormhammer became a proud and Holy name amongst the dwarven clergy. Unlike Kazon, Albrecht began exploration beyond the great dwarven statue, as soon as the worlds became more open. Albrecht grew a strong following and Kazon, growing ever more jealous, banished Albrecht from the royal family of Stormhammer.

Feeling Shocked and abandoned, Albrecht woke up one night, and felt the dwarven scriptures being fullfilled. Albrecht Stormhammer was to be a Stormhammer no longer. Hereforth, Albrecht Stormhammer will be known as Albrecht Hammerfell, the fallen son of Sarjibar.

From level 1 to 4 a dwarven cleric should be doing the newbie stuff right outside the city. At 5 you get new spells so head over to gfay and try to get into a group. From 5 to 8 the big groups on orc hill are great for a cleric. At 9 your headed back to butcherblock to the chessboard where you can use your new anti-undead spell to wreak havoc for 5 levels. At 14 get on the boat to freeport and make the walk to oasis. In oasis get a partner, just about anyone will do, and start on those caimains/crocodiles, they will take you to 19. After 19 there are numerous avenues available, I leave it to you or further posts to find them.
RE: Cleric strategies
# Nov 04 2000 at 12:08 PM Rating: Default
Hehe, try this one out for a bit.

Get strike as soon as possible, you can use this spell to "fish" the creatures in the newbie zone outside Kaladim (this makes you a much more effective leveler than chasing the MOBs.) Collect all the bone chips you can find and turn them in at paladin guild, you'll reach level 5 in no time and, if you've turned in enough chips, will have a full set of tattered.

At level 5-9, head to Freeport and hunt in EC to solo a bit, you can also find orc camp groups fairly frequently. At level 9, once you have your new spells, head to Befallen for a bit. This should get you used to dungeon crawling, where the cleric will outperform the other healer classes, and you can put your anti-undead skills to test. Usually, you won't get bored if you split your time between Befallen and the Desert of Ro.

Instead of camping orcs and crocs at the oasis, you will find you will level faster and get better loot by heading to the Estate of Unrest at level 15. Finding a good group here will net you some of your first Small Bronze Plate armor pieces.

After reaching level 19, head over to HighHold Pass. There you will find some good orc and gnoll groups that will drop excellant loot, and fair exp. This is good, because in nearby High Keep, there is a bank as well as some spawns (prob too high to attack quite yet) that drop more small bronze. The average price for small bronze there is between 1-1.5 plat per ac, vice 2-3 everywhere else (Don't be afraid to ****** over the price if a high one is quoted.) By lvl 20, you'll be in a full set of bronze.

20-29 are the hard levels for clerics, experience seems to move VERY slowly for the difficulty of the MOBs you are forced to fight. Once level 29 is reached, things will pick up as you become every melee class's best friend.

A great place to go in the upper 20's is Dalner's Crypt. I would group with monks who needed a healer as they attemped to get their cresent armor. The Warslik woods is also fun up to early 30's with a variety of giants, goblins, and pariahs. Key thing about Dalners: monks don't like weight, so you get to loot fs and much of the coin, just need to find ports back to a bank.

At the early 30's, I would still go to Dalner, which is good all the way through 35 or 36 (some things are green at 36) and also join groups in The Overthere by the FM zone. I am now level 39 and still hunting in The Overthere (suppose to be good up to level 42 or so). The loot in The Overthere is not as good (but I make up for it with xp rezes now) but the xps still climb quickly.
