I am a 44 Ogre Warrior on the rodcet Knife Server..and proud member of the stonefist warriors guild..He was my first warrior and im SO glad my chiose was a Ogre..i have a STE of 209..my STA ia 187 and my Hp are over 2200..unbuffed..i have duel other warriors my lvl and they are no chalange at all..sure they are smaller and are more liked by other races ..BUT would you rather be liked or through out more damage?? well in my book the people that dont like ogres are afraid of them hehe i did some faction work and im aloud in Freeport to bank/buy and sell and the only reason i did that is because it is the most well placed city in EQ..i dident have any problems lvling him ..and sure i was killed a few times buy NPC that dident like me..but even good races have that probem..i would like to see a high elf walk into ogguk or Out post heck even Dark elf city for that matter,,all city have there good and bad points and there is quest in all citys..i could do the stien of monguk quest easyer than a halfling can..just because you have to inter ogukk to do it..so dont worry about faction problems..every class and race has them at some point..but to be honest Ogres are just fun to play they have alot of good points, and only 2 bad..witch is faction and size..and heck a shaman can shrink you or you can drink a shrink potion..so that takes it down to one bad point hehe and just remimber..you might be dumb..you might be big and heack you might be unliked by most..BUT..you wont find another warrior that is more liked in groups and that can take more damage and also can toss out more damage than any other..if you dont belive me make a ogre warrior and have a friend make a different warrior and lvl them up together and duel every lvl..my cousin has a dworf warrior and we duel all the time (HE HAS NEVER WON YET hehe) so you do the math..eather be liked and suck..or rule and kill the ones that dont like you..YOUR CHOISE...

slam, it uses bash skill, does about the same as kick and stuns.I really see no point in using kick with slam

Da ogres is da tuffest race out der, mez is da ogre warrior, and mez is da head of a Mob. Well one day mez and ma right hand man <Dradg> was fightin lizzies, when dis troll warin fancy armer and his Dark Elf friend came up ta us. Da dark elf kept tellin mez I wuz ugly, and fat and stupid. I say I not fat, I just big boned, but she not listen. My right hand man telled her ta smartin up, and dat she betta respect da boss, dats mez. Wez was walkin ta Oggok from outside dat big pyramid fingy, when her and da troll attacked us. Dey were da same lebel, mez was lebel 10, and Dradg wuz lebel 8. Mez was berry wounded, had only 2 bubbles of life left, cuz I take hits in battle, and Dradg had 4 bubbles of Hp. Dey were full. Wez killed dat troll so fast, den wez mash up da Dark Elf and she ran fer da hills. Dats why wez is da tuffest, wez can beat anyone in da tuffest fight!
Boats
# Aug 10 2001 at 11:19 PM Rating: Decent
If I am able to swim my Ogre onto the boat away from the dock will I be safe when I get to the dock? There are a few places in the OOT I would like to go but I am afraid that the NPC's will board the boat and attack me in FP,BB or Sister Isle. Does anyone know for a fact whether or not NPC's will attack an evil char that is already on the boat?

I'm a lvl 15 Ogre Shaman. I am currently eqipped with a slime coated harpoon, but I had the good luck of coming upon a Spine Chill Spear. I want to know at what lvl the SCS produces because at that point it will be a much better weapn than my slime coated(and I can sell the slime coated). I also had the good fortune of coming across Jaundiced Bone Gauntlets for free. They are AC 14 and have the effect deftness. Deftness is a lvl 39 shaman spell and I was wondering if that meant the gayntlets will not produce untill I'm lvl 39. If anyone can answer any of my questions I will be much onliged.

Well, at lvl 3 you can make it, but you have to be REALLY carefull. Head to the swamp, then north to So Ro. Skirt the middle of So Ro avoiding the orc camps north to Oasis. Hug east side of Oasis heading north to No Ro (if you're lucky, a shaman or druid will SOW you at the docks). From N Ro, hug west side until you come to entrance of EC. Take the tunnel, when in EC, head straight north to Nek forest. Once you're in Nek forest, you still have to be carefull until you cross the bridge. The Kodiak bears will tear your lvl 3 war butt up fast.

Why would an Ogre act dumb? I don't see why everyone assumes they are dumb. You don't see any of the Barbarian or Dwarf warriors who ALSO have a 60 INT acting like the village idiot do you?

Sure, playing a dumb character is fine; that is ok with me. What burns me is when people expect my Ogre Shadowknight (who has had more than 100 INT for a LONG time) to be dumb. Heck, he STARTED with a 90 INT and that isn't dumb at all.

Just so you know.....there are smart Ogres out there too. ;-p
My 2 cents

As i travel around with my wizard, ive decided to start and ogre warrior, the reason is the high sta, when you do raids, tanks need to be able to be hit and take a lot. Lets face it on a plains raid, lots of stuff up there that will debuff u, making your base hps so important the str buff is nice, but the hps is what matter to me. The size is a big factor in duegions such as the sols where a big oger can mean road block = death, seen it happen a million times. But work through it and encourage them cause you will need them when it comes time to take on vox or naggy, ill take a warrior maked on sta, as compared to str any day on one of those raids

a better version of what you read earlier

Listen up all you big boned bald fighting maschines. I love ogers. I have one too
(warrior). But i was wondering, if it would be bad to put my points into agi/dex in the beginning or have i wasted them?

Do tell. Please.

To get good faction in WFP and EFP
# Jul 04 2001 at 5:48 AM Rating: Default
You go to the nearby orc camps in EC and WC and gather up DF Belts. Then head to WFP and get a wolf form from a 39+ druid. Then make your way to the captain in the miltia house... he stands on the dock. Hand the belts in. You get good or noticable exp up to 20 and faction up with WFP and EFP guards. NFP guards are on paladin faction system that is reverse of militita. Once the right lvl u can kil lguards in wfp and efp to raise nfp faction and can go thru sewers form wfp newbie garden to nfp. NFP HAS THE BANK!

RE: ATTENTION Ogres!
# Aug 18 2001 at 4:22 PM Rating: Default
I Suggest Walking to the troll city in the swamp that borders Freerot. The froglocks there spawn very quickly and drop netted armor as well as rusty weps and generous ammounts of coin. You can bash them easily till about 9th or 10th, when youll want to move on..Be sure to get a bind in the Troll city first thing when you get there, its a long walk back to get your body if you die lol...
RE: ATTENTION Ogres!
# Jul 01 2001 at 5:17 AM Rating: Decent
Sure. Do the lizard meat quest. Give 4 pieces of lizard meat to the SK guildmaster and get a rusty two-handed sword. You can repeat this quest as many times as you like, and turn around and sell the swords for gp's. Be cautious, though. Doing this repeatedly <will> ruin your faction with Troll SK's in Grobb. If you're not worried about that, than do the quest. I got my secondary character (Ogre SK) fully outfitted with weapons, shield, and armor doing this, not to mention having the cash on hand to buy all his spells at 9th level.
lvling up an ogre on sever start up
# Jun 28 2001 at 12:56 AM Rating: Excellent
I am Auspex a lvl 60 ogre warlord. being an ogre is not for everyone, but for me... once I played an evil race it was hard to go back. I lvled up from 1st lvl to 6th lvl following the road in the Feerrott once I got to lvl 4 or so I started killing the spiders and the exp just rolled in. I then moved to the lizzy camp near the bridge and teamed up with a shaman and killed the camp and crocs. this can also be done at lvl 4 or 5 if you have a shaman friend and your tired of killing spiders. I used the spiderling silks to raise my tailoring though so I could make Patchwork armor faster. once you get a full group of ogres you can move across the bridge and get good exp and nice loots at the skelly camps (across bridge and to the right) there are 3 skelly camps with about 11 or 12 undead. once you are there you can make alot of cash to buy leather armor and lvl up to 10th or 11th easy. try to find a shaman to group with whenever your on and start a friendship. shamans will be your only healers the first few days of a server start and they come in VERY handy at the later lvls for shrinking you in dungons. being an ogre is NO FUN when you don't have a shaman in group at the mid lvls. it limits where you can hunt big time. if you can't find a large group for the skelly ruins follow the road over the bridge once you are lvl 6-8 and head to the Rathetear moutians. take the first right when you get there and try hunting the bears for ruined pelts to make some patchwork. you should have about a skill level of 12-15 off all those spiderling silks so patchwork shouldn't be a problem.

Once you make lvl 10 or so you have many options one of my big hunting spots was right out side of CT temple and the orc and lizzy camps in rathetear. I liked to stick close to my bind spot for less down time. you should make lvl 13 or 14 before most of the lizzys turn green to you there. that is when I moved to the derv camps in Sro. these are almost never camped and you can start grouping with trolls there if there are not many ppl playing ogres. the derv camps are a good spot for loot and exp and you can even go to oasis if you get board for better exp.

Once I was lvl 15-16 I made the long trip to Highpass. I got a bind and joined a group. following RZ I found I was KoS there. it took me about 3-4 hours of hunting the orcs and gnolls to get the guards to where they would not attck me and I moved into Highpass hold at lvl 20-21. once there I collected ears and gained a ton of faction with freeport guards and the vendors in highpass. exp was good but the main reason for being there was to fix my faction. BTW loot sucks for you there seeing how you can't sell at first so have someone you trust sell you booty. try to get the ears for the faction and offer your share of the loot for the ears. thats what I did.

The next big faction step for me was moving to Castle mistmoore. once I was not KoS in freeport I took the boat over and started to make new friends there and gain dragon and bard faction. this took days to do but bards loved me now.

Starting an ogre? I put all my pts into STA and maxed it at 150 and spilled the rest into AGI.

now that I am lvl 60 and I see all the best AC gear in the game has killer + STA I will be at 255 STA without buffs before I get all of it. if I had it to do over again I would go for all AGI and if anything was left over add it to dex or sta maybe.

The reason for this is STR and DEX gear is all over the place... ya get it without even trying (my str is almost 255 unbuffed) AGI with the best AC gear is NIL! I have to ditch alot of AC just to make a AGI over 100 it seems till I get the right gear. right gear= gear it takes an uber guild to get not to mention your loot roll/system

thats just my 2pp

Auspex Mezbreaker lvl60 Warlord

Morell Thule

Relentless Ascention

P.S. as an Ogre I ALWAYS want a shaman in a group. my dream group for exp is a DE Cleric, troll/ogre shaman, a DE Mage or iskar monk, a DE rogue, and a DE enchanter. and me! Ogre Warrior!

wow talk about a dream team *sigh* :)

Ogres are best warriors, max out your str and then put rest into stamina, and you will own any other war out there. Dex and agi = sux.
Feerot sux alot
# Jun 25 2001 at 1:24 AM Rating: Default
The place ogres start in, Feerot, well sucks for lvling! My suggestion is to fo the the swamp where the trolls are, much easiar to lvl, but still not as easy as BB

Hail Orges I have a question I hope you can help me with. I am a Human Monk in desperate need of the forgers bag. It is a quest in your hometown of Oggok of which I am KOS. The quest says it is for all. Will any kind soul Orge please tell me how I can do this quest. I need to hail the lovely Marda in the Shamans Guild. Then go to the Orge guard tower to the spawn Emissary Glib. I am to give him the Froglok Eye Necklace and hopefully receive my foragers bag. All information will be appreciated - Thanks

I'm an Ogre warrior and i started out 145/140/79/78 which i'm really regretting in the agi department. I'm level 35 now and with some nice equipment i'm up to 192/162/102/116 which is SWEET. i love slam and i find it very annoying when the only time i get stunned is when i pull. I have 2k+hp when buffed by a cleric and a hair over 740 ac. Ogres are insane and i love them for anything they can be
