Note: You can do turn-ins for this quest as low as dubious (he just won't talk to you).
Find Lieutenant Milven at the zone in from WL, go through the first gate, turn right, go up the stairs, he's right there. You say, 'Hail, Lieutenant Milven' Lieutenant Milven says 'Hmm, the guards at the gate sent a _____ to assist with the rampant problems? They shall have to be replaced with functional sentries so this does not occur again, but that is another matter for later.' You say, 'What rampant problems?' Lieutenant Milven says 'I trust that what is said here will not be repeated to outsiders, yes? Good. For some time now, we've been fortifying our position in the shrine to fend off giant attacks as they come. Though there hasn't been a major engagement between the shrine and the giants for quite some time, there have been strafing runs done by them in an attempt to test us. If you're up for it, I have a mission I need someone new to the shrine to complete.' You say, 'What mission?' Lieutenant Milven says 'We've been looking for someone that isn't from the shrine to find some of the giants that have been on these strafing runs and have them eliminated. You're of the perfect ilk because they will not recognize you as a friend to the shrine. Once you pry their steel-plated helms from their cold, dead heads and bring them back to me, your worth will be proven and you may show promise as an ally to the shrine.' Upon turning in a Giant Warrior Helmet: Lieutenant Milven says 'Well done, _____. You are proving to be worth the risk of sending a new recruit out on a mission such as this. If you feel this is the type of mission you're best suited for, feel free to slay more of these beasts and return their helmets to me. The fewer giants there are out there, the less chance they can continue their random attacks against us. I also may have another assignment for you if you're interested.' Your faction standing with Claws of Veeshan has been adjusted by 15. Your faction standing with Yelinak has been adjusted by 3. Your faction standing with Kromzek has been adjusted by -7. I just turned dubious to Mobs in SS and decided to try turning in some frost giant toes. "I will do nothing to aid beings like you." is all I got.

*nods* I can get to Dubious with my Charismatic Charillon (Bard Song which increases faction) and Kcor gave me this same message when I handed him a FG Toe. Hope to get a Helm to test that out soon.

is this quest good faction with CoV?
I have couple SS armor pieces, but don't have faction.
Can't go to raid and stuff, so have to solo.
I'm amiably atm... what's the fastest way?

I have killed giants in GD and EW until I am bored to tears and am finally dubious in SS (I am ally in Thurgadin). Now the mob glower at me dubiousely and will not attack, but also will not deal with me, and more importantly I canot purchase spells or get quests. I am a human agnostic wizzy. Any suggestions would be useful.

Hay wizzy quad kilt wolves for faction..I know it is skyshrine faction not sure about Coldains. But I am ally now and have only been on 1 Kael raid.. Hope it helps

the mobs inside the Kael arena give the biggest faction hits towards CoV...i was ally after 3 raids in there :)

I hunted on and off for about 2 weeks in kael guards etc, no arena. And killed a few statues etc, I am just now dub. So it takes awhile.

When you go to hand in the helms/toes, you dont HAVE to hail him... just hand in the items.

Just so you know, I just did this quest with my druid (who's just gone to Dubious with the dragons. Woohoo!) and I tossed in the two helms I had. Got the faction and some coin and XP as expected. Then, cuz I had them, I tried some Frost Giant toes and surprisingly they also worked, giving me XP and (more importantly) faction. Didn't have any Storm Giant toes to try (sold them by mistake) but I was definitely dubious at the time. (Cuz I was still dubious after all this)
Just for the hell of it, I tried a Frost Giant beard but he didn't take it. Guess he figures shaving a Giant isn't that big a deal. :P

As far as I know, no. Created one who worshiped Veeshan as her diety thinking that would help. But, it didn't make a difference. You have to go out and kill them giants.
Summarizing all the pertinent information contained in this thread:
Kcor will take helmets if you are dubious, but will take toes only if you are apprehensive or better. (Wardoktor)
Claws of Veeshan = SS faction
Helmets and toes can be turned in 1 at a time or 4 at a time. You get a hit for each one you turn in.
Invis doesn't work.
Sneak/hide does work. Don't hail the mob before you do the turn-in, or he will turn around.
You get +15CoV faction for each hand in. I didn't verify it but nice to know if it's really that number.
Storm giant toes have a slightly bigger faction hit than frost giant toes.

Dubious didnt work for me either. Than I sneaked and was able to turn in and got faction. You can give one to try tho.
A successful sneak will change you from dubious to indif(except for those mobs that see thru sneak).
Just tried toes at dubious, did not work. Perhaps you much have near apprehensive faction.

Anyone know how many points for Yelinak faction from each frost/storm toe/helmet? As a side note, anyone know how to test current yelinak faction without running clear across zone (at risk of life and limb) and hope that he's up?

I am lvl 51 and con kindly in SS. I have quite a few helms and toes, so i finally decided to try the quest and get rid of them. Only problem is he wont give me the quest, instead he gives me another. Was wondering is there a lvl cap to this quest.

To follow up my previous post... I've turned in toes then turned in mercenary assignments and gotten credit for both. So, I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter which quest he's giving out. I again did not bother hailing him before turning them in.

I've never bothered hailing him. I just turn them in. He always rewarded me with coin and faction. If there is a level cap, it's >56.

well.. it didn't work with invis now, either you got to kill gaint till you are dub and hand in helm.. appen to hand in toe, if you killed yenlinak you sure need some big faction hit like vindicator or king tomax.

Im going to kill giants till my CoV faction is dubiously... then im going to turn in toes to get to indifferently... Once CoV is Indifferent im going to kill Coldain and get giants up.. does anyone think this is a good idea?
It's a very BAD idea, and you've wasted one hell of a lot of time if you do this.

If you give this same Sentry frost giant toes he will give you faction and a few plat. The faction is +Yelinak, +CoV, -Kromrif. If you hail the sentry next to him he will start to talk about this quest and you have to respond to his unbracketed words.

I did arena for 2 days in a row with 1 group and I went from kos to ally in SS. Plus we got armor drops and defiance dropped!! All you need is like a 60 Rogue or Monk, 56+ cleric, preferably the higher the better. a 56+ shammy to slow, a 56+ bard, 54+ war(although we never had a warrior)and pretty much whatever class you want. We did it with a 60 cleric, 60 Rogue, 57 Shammy, 59 Bard, 51 Pally and a 54 Mage. We also had 2 other people in a group. a lvl 20 Rogue. Yes you heard right a lvl 20 rogue in the arena, and a 49 SK.

AHAHAHA I FEEL YOU GUYS EITHER GET A VINDICATOR / STATUE FACTION HIT OR JOIN THE GIANT LINCHING MOBS. I killed giants in WLs for like 8 days before getting out of KOS (was bottomed out twinking sigh) the helms are gonna help me along big time along with toes woot

Yeli is short for Yelinak. He is the lord of Skyshrine and on his own faction. Everyone starts KoS with him and faction with him is only gained by doing quests like this or killing King Tormax. Even if you get to max ally with CoV, you are likly to still be KoS with Yelinak unless you've done lots of these quests. Killing any giants other than Tormax does not (repeat NOT) increase your faction with Yelinak. I do not know how many of these quests are needed to no longer be KoS with him. If you know, please enlighten me. I also don't know any way to test Yelinak faction other than going up and having a face to face with him (when and if he's up) or having a friend do same and assisting him when he returns.

A guild group got a couple helms to drop in Great Divide today. Being the only one who's not KoS to skyshrine, they gave 'me to me.... :)

My problem is i am a Mage need SS faction back up. killing Giants only gives you Claws of Vesheen faction but not SS ..
We tried to turn in Helmets with Mezzing and Charming them, only thing he tells me is " Very Good , you are on the best way of proveing your self .
You gain Experience
but i m not getting any faction ..
Now what do i need to do and dose my Faction Raise killing Giants ? or am i KoS and stay KoS?
Cant sneak and cant hide , only chance i have right now is with a chanter and that dose not work as it seems.

Yes, indeed. CoV faction is SS faction. So if you are ally to Claws of Veeshan, then you are also ally to the guards in Skyshrine. So don't worry :)

You need apprehensive or better faction to hand in the toes or helmets. At dubious he just yells at you and calls you names.

I was max Ally with all 3 giant factions and then I changed to CoV/Yeli for a quest. I got for dubious to ally with 148 helms/toes. I used both frost and storm toes.
Note: He wouldn't like me turn in toes at first I had to turn in some helms to get more faction then he would take toes for faction also.
My CoV faction went to Ally, but I am still KOS to Yeli.

I was KoS in Skyshrine, due to hunting for guardian and sentry armor in my mid 40's.
Now I am lvl 56 and I spent the last few days soloing giants for heads, toes and helmets.
You can definately use sneak/hide to get up behind them, then DON'T hail them , break your hide but not your sneak, and turn in the helms and toes.
I got to dubious and now I can walk freely through Skyshrine again.
I bet monks can sneak up too but you would have to FD flop to get behind them.
