This quest begins with Bloogy Shellcracker in Cobalt Scar (location 187.25, -1507.34, 77.76 on upper edge of coast).

You say, 'Hail, Bloogy Shellcracker'

Bloogy Shellcracker says, 'Hello, strange one. I am Bloogy Shellcracker, the preparer of meals for my people. I am not familiar with the culinary tastes of your kind but you are welcome to purchase some of my supplies. I will also barter for ingredients to some of my exotic dishes.'

You say, 'What ingredients?'

Bloogy Shellcracker says 'The rarest treat I can prepare for my people is saucy salted seadragon steak. I wish to barter for some water dragon meat, saltwater seaweed, and fish eggs. The rest of the ingredients are collected locally by our collectors.

You need one Water Dragon Meat. Water Dragon Meat (dropped by Kelorek`Dar, Lord Koi`Doken, or Faydedar) will suffice.

Saltwater seaweed is fished in Ocean of Tears or Timorous Deep. You need one of these.

Fish eggs are made by combining,
1 X Thunder Salmon or Greengill Salmon or Evergreen Salmon
1 X Skinning Knife
in a Tackle Box (Skill: Fishing, Trivial: 135)
Yields:
2 X Fish Eggs
2 X Fish Scales

Give 1 Water Dragon Meat, 1 Fish Eggs and 1 Saltwater Seaweed to Bloogy Shellcracker.

Bloogy Shellcracker says 'It has been many moons since my people have feasted on this rarest of meat. Take this totem crafted in the form of our oceanlord Prexus and inscribed with the runes of our people. may the oceans watch over you, _____'

Your faction standing with Othmir got better.
Your faction standing with Ulthork got worse.

Anyone found FISH EGGS yet?
# Apr 06 2001 at 11:29 AM Rating: Default
When told fish eggs are not in game, Absor says "then where do all the little fish come from?" So has anyone ever seen fish eggs?

*laughs*

Remind me to take Absor fishing zone, by zone, by zone. *grumbles* Actually, I'm now inclined to believe that the fish eggs are a drop in Siren's Grotto, either that or laying on the floor in there somewhere. So far, no luck..

By the way, I think any quest that tortures me this much must deserve an excellent rating. *smirks* At least, I bet Absor thinks so! Honestly, I'm inclined to agree. Seems like a darn good quest to me... while I may ***** and moan and whine... I've had fun fishing around the world.

There is a breakthrough on this. Check out http://pub13.ezboard.com/feqtraderscornerfrm55.showMessage?topicID=33.topic
basically, put certain fish in a tackle box with a skinning knife, and you MAY get eggs (or some other result depending on the fish)
Has any tried a vial of fish eggs from UGuk

I forget the mob but there is a froglok that drops a Vial of Fish eggs (single charge enduring breath) who is located in Uguk.

Just a thought

No, that's the Vial of Egg Whites, and it doesn't work.
Funniest thing about this quest

I swear to god the funniest thing would be if this quest resulted in just faction. Or some kind of item for a cook. I would die laughing.

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy!

The fishing frenzy has begun. A minimum of 60 bait have been thrown into each of the following bodies of water. I have had a fishing skill in excess of 150 for all those casts. And yes, yes... I *do* smell awful, and no, no... my guildmates do *not* want any more fish to eat.

Results for Odus:

Local Fish Other Garbage
Toxxulia Greengill Salmon Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales
Kerra Ridge Fresh Fish Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales
Erudin Docks Fresh Fish Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales
Paineel Pond Fresh Fish Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales
Erud's Crossing Fresh Fish Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales

Results for Antonica (so far):
East Karana Thunder Salmon Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales
Rivervale Fresh Fish Shoes, Daggers, Fish Scales

I have also spent some amount of time "hunting" in each of these locations, however fish hunting is a boring endeavor (YOU try to chase tiny little fish using sense animal and/or camping the ever-joyous single Razorfish spawn in Kerra). I'll keep squishing every fish I see, but there are limits to my madness!

I'd love to hear if anyone else has made concentrated efforts in any zones. I did spend about 20 bait in OOT, and did fish up the Seaweed. And yes, I have the meat from Kelorek D'ar. Its just the Roe, the miserable awful terrible caviar!

My current theory is that if I were a game designer, a swamp would be a good place to put fish roe, followed closed by Timorous Deep -- perhaps on those eel-like fishies that lurk where Faydedar does.

Righto! Back to the slaughter...

Ashwith, you might want to check out Allakhazam's Fishing page, at https://everquest.allakhazam.com/Skills/Fishing.htm. It lists special things that can be fished up in quite a few zones. I love fishing with all the bait that druids leave laying around, and so far I haven't found anything that Allakhazam doesn't have listed. :)

I've seen the fishing pages. Unfortunately, somewhere in the world are fish eggs, or caviar, or roe. The best way I can think to find them is to go zone to zone, fishing, foraging, hunting and exploring.

I'm in the process of getting lures made as well. While I know in the past they didnt do much, I'm hoping that they'll help. 'tis a frustrating quest.. but I hope to solve it.

Well druid told me he foraged fish eggs in CS, however, the otter says that he needs Saltwater Seewead, and fish eggs, every thing else can be collected by local collectors, that seems to me that the eggs must be in a different zone

im dying to know
Has anyone asked him about the fish eggs?
# Dec 24 2000 at 9:06 AM Rating: Default
Has anyone tried to Hail him and ask: "what fish eggs?"

I have the meat and seaweed as well, cant find the fish eggs. I was told by 2 people that it spawns in the streams in the great divide, near the waterfall being one spot for sure. I camped that spot for hours, never saw anything, offered hundreds of plat for the eggs, never got a tell. I was also told by someone they found "fish eggs" in the crystal caverns right under a hole in the ice. Before anyone ventures to these places, I visited them about 5 times each, ran up and down the river in great divide countless times looking for the fish eggs. Never found them.

Also, I was told by a friend she was very sure she foraged them while on a boat in OOT, but I had a friend go there, tried to forage about 30 times, never got any eggs. Her sister then told me that SHE thinks she got it from Lake of ill omen, off went the druid to check it out there, foraged no eggs. She thinks maybe it was in Timorous Deep, but after the big *** runaround I had i basically gave up searching, probably comes from siren's grotto or something. Checked druid sites, no fish eggs foraged anywhere, so I kinda believe she didn't forage any eggs, even though she claims she definately did.

Tried the skinning knife on the fish, sewing kit ate both.

Oh well, probably just get some kind of stupid cook book anyway.

Dragon Meat
# Dec 23 2000 at 10:54 PM Rating: Default
My guild killed the Cobalt Scar sea dragon last night, we rolled for the assorted loot that no one needed and I won the Sea Dragon Scale. Since then I've spent a few hours searching various sites trying to find the info on the quest for which I needed to turn this scale in. As it stands now, this is the only thing I've found that seems to even mention a sea dragon at all.

Can anyone please help me find out if there is another quest that requires the sea dragon scale?

Also, does Sea Dragon Meat actually drop in addition to the scale? So far, from my searching, I've found no listing of Sea Dragon Meat and a single listing of a Sea Dragon Scale that drops off the mob (listed on eq'lizer)...

Just curious, appreciate the assistance.

Scales are a common drop. Ask Quargy about the scale. He asks for a Fine Steel bracer, Some sort of necklace made of shells and the sea dragon scales. No one in my guild has figured this one out yet. Though many, many of us have scales.

The bracer needs to be "unstained" meaning that its player made and expensive. Now as for the necklace. Havent seen it yet but may be a sub-quest with the barracuda livers. Who knows for know.

meat and scale are different. there is a quest for a sea dragon scale from the otters as well that I think is also unsolved for a bracer - need scale, ornate rune necklace and fine steel bracer - no one knows where the orante rune necklace drops.

I have meat in the bank and have looted scales.

fish eggs still missing

I have tested:

(1) seahorse roe from foraging in eruds crossing - not the item

(2) tried mixing skinning knife and fresh fish in a tailoring kit - does not mix

Anyway, fish eggs are still missing.

What about trying the skinning knife and fresh fish in a cooking device like a spit or oven? Or mixing bowl?

This is the wrong reward. You get the Emerald Dragonscale Tunic from doing the Emerald Dragonscale quest. No one has completed this quest yet, so no one knows the reward.
Seaweed and Roe
# Dec 20 2000 at 3:44 AM Rating: Default
Seaweed? Isn't that an item you fish for in OOT?

And I recall getting Roe in Erudin's Crossing....hmmmm....

BTW, anyone else ever try to solo Feydedar? (don't ask)

Nephretiti
NOT ROE. I tryed. 2 options maybe
# Feb 05 2001 at 5:14 AM Rating: Default
2 options,
Friend said he remembered buying Fish Eggs at a vendor, but I am suspect, maybe "Fish Cakes".

Other option, Fishing/Forage in some zone

Yeah, saltwater seaweed is from oot from fishing (no drop and fairly rare). I have been looking for fish eggs for awhile. Can anyone confirm where they drop?

Alderon the Arcane
Seahorse Roe maybe?
# Dec 21 2000 at 8:56 PM Rating: Default
foraged and looted in Erud's Crossing. If you are willing to experiment with all that surplus dragon meat you have lying around. :-)
not Seahorse Roe
# Dec 21 2000 at 10:16 PM Rating: Default

not seahorse roe. dont have to waste the meat to test this today, the reply is different when you give the guy saltwater seaweed and any other non-quest item (including the seahorse roe). Thus, I am still looking for fish eggs
