I got the "War Tactics of the Frostreavers" book the other day and wemt to turn it in.
Gkrean says the first line of the dialogue above, but when I ask him if he will teach me he comes out with a long spiel about losing his glasses while escaping from pirates. It looks to me as if he has the wrong dialogue file, but I have tried it after two patches and server resets and he is still doing it, so maybe something has changed.
I petitioned it but the guide I spoke to couldn't confirm whether the quest had changed or not.
This is on Antonius Bayle - has anyone done the quest successfully revently on that server, or could confirm that whether it is working on other servers? Unfortunately I don't have any characters on other servers with good enough Kromzek faction to go a nd check.

Does the minimum level of 50 mean that even if you manage to get the book of frostweaver tactics of a missionary the prophet dude won't give you the book of tactics regardless of faction? and if so wtf is the point of having the improved damage ii effect on the item as it stops working at 44?

I have been hunting coldain for many levels now and have never seen this on hunters, warriors, or cooks, which are the mobs I have killed most. Do the books only drop off of particular types of coldain, such as missionaries, bodyguards, or named?

Ive been camping the dwarf camp to the north with the single missionary (loc: neg730,neg 3100) and have killed over 100 dwarfs in this camp and only once have the gotten this book, so its pretty rare.

Anyone know if Loremaster Derrin in Eastern Wastes drops these books? I know the single missionary in Eastern Wastes does (very very rare)...

What faction is the Gkrean Prophet of Tallon on? And what does he need to con bfore you can turn in the book?

He is on Kromzek faction, however you will need at least dubious with Tormax to get to him without being cothed. I believe that you need ally with him for the quests.

We'll Mr Cleric man, level a few more, and you'll make tons of money Rezing. And 179 Wis for a level 39 isn't bad. Not all of us have lvl 55+ alts.

is it better for a rogue to maintain dorf faction or change to giants? i dont really like the idea of being KOS to giants and dorfs while working on giant faction anbd havving no town to go to but if it worth it i will do so.

Think of it this way...
Giant quest armor has highest AC out of the three.
Dragon armor has best stats.
Dwarf armor is good, yet not as good in either area.
Dwarf armor doesn't have better stats than Giant or better AC than Dragon's mind you.
This is at least the way I've noticed with Warrior armor, may work differently with others.

Well camped here with my 52shaman for about 4hours at a time for 5 days, seen 2 of these books drop, First quest resulted in bracelet of sacrifice(pissed), second resulted in Gauntlets of iron tactics, these are sweet. nuf said

I can confirm they still drop got Book of Coldain Tactics today. Resulted in Gaunts.

Is there only one missionary in the whole zone? Some people keep saying they are camping the spot with 3 of them. I cant seem to find that.

ok..done this quest about 8 times (yes ive killed a LOT of coldain) the books drop off the missionarys only. very rare, brells divine strategy is the common drop. have gotten 6 of those..those will always result in either the bracer or the Gauntlets. gotten 4 bracers (crap) and 2 gauntlets (yay!) Have gotten the Book of Frostreaver Tacticts 2 times..this will always result in either the Circlet or the Book of Tactics. I have gotten one of each. Your faction must be at least Kindly..amiable will NOT do it. Good luck!

I've been camping missionaries for almost 2 weeks now, have gotten Brells Book of Strategy 3 times. When I turned it in, I recieved Bracers of Sacrifice all 3 times. Not that great of a item in my opinion. The pluses you get from these, aren't worth the negatives. I also got the War Tactics of the Frostreavers 1 time which resulted in Book of Tactics, great for int casters

heh, im dubious to frost and warmly to storm giants, all skyshrines fault, got storm really high and left frost low, had to work up frost to dubious then just left it there.

Got this book from killing Royal Scribe Kaavin in Icewell. Not totally sure what to do with it, but presume it's for some quest. Has anyone tried turning it in to Gkrean yet? Hate to have him eat it, so any info would be appreciated!

Says this lowers Claws of Veeshan faction, not Coldain. That seems weird. Is that really the case, or is it Coldain faction that lowers? Finally I can land at Woushi-airstrip and not get killed, didn't want to ruin that right now.

I've camped the 3 missionary camp in EW for 3 weeks straight. Killed absolutely tons of them. Books are super rare. I finally got a Frostreaver book and turned in for my Circlet. Doing that time I got 4 Brell books. Frostreaver definitely the ultra rare book.
But at least they are still dropping.
