This is an individual achievement that everyone in the raid has to do at least once if they want it. The meteors have a giant red circle on the ground, with a definitely center. You must click the shield in the center of the meteor and it will reflect the entire red circle. Alternatively, you can wait until you've beaten the boss and everyone is safely under the VP building to run out and click it in the center of the meteor if you missed it during the raid.
Side note: if you loot a shield and die, do not release. Release will cause the shield to disappear from your inventory. Hold in hover mode until you get a res.
