Kyla Frostbeard says 'Greetings to you. I seek those who call themselves magicians. Are you a magician, little one?' You say, 'I am a magician.' Kyla Frostbeard says 'I thought so. I have several tasks for you accomplish. Once you have completed them I will have a cap, a robe, sleeves, wristbands, gloves, leggings and boots to reward you with.' You say, 'What gloves?' Kyla Frostbeard says 'If you seek gloves of great power, bring to me three crushed topaz and a pair of torn enchanted silk gloves. I will use the power of the gems to imbue the gloves.' I just did the Glove quest, and I gave all My jewels to Kyla stacked, and i got the gloves, Im not sure about all the other quests, but it worked for me to have them stacked...i didnt say aything to her, just gave them, an there were only 4 slots on the trade screen so i wouldnt have had a choice but to stack one....well theres my two cents

For those of you who come here, and leave wondering....
1) Torn Silk pieces can be gotten in Kael. They seem to drop pretty regularly in Kael Arena. One raid we got 1, the next 5, the next 1....
2) Quest gems are sometimes findable on merchants, or, from killing things in Siren's Grotto. There is a listing of what gems are good for what. Print It. There are alot of similiar gems.
3) This is the way it goes... abbreviated version
As a Bare Rock Bottom Minimum, you need Kindly Faction level.
To verify your faction, you say, near Kyla
"What Gloves"
If she responds, you should be good to go. If she does not, go farm some more faction......
If she responds, she will tell you what she wants in order to make the gloves.
At that point, you give her your torn gloves, your 3 Crushed Topaz. All 4 trade slots should have something in them. Either the gloves, or 1 ea of the crushed topaz. NEVER stack them. Bad. Bad. Ba., You will be given credit for ONE, and it will eat your stuff. GM MIGHT restore it. Might not.......
You get faction, the Arch Mage Gloves, and some xp.
Having just completed this quest, and gotten my gloves, I can say that the quest IS working.
My faction was kindly to start with, and warmly after turn in. Was probably fairly close to warmly anyway.

Above it says "a pair of torn enchanted silk gloves" Does that mean you need 2 enchanted silk gloves?

i found in 2 hours my 3 gems in Velkethor Labyrinth really easy to drop at least

Which mobs drop the Crushed Topaz in Icewall? And is it a long camp? Also, does anyone know of an alternate location for the gloves?

I found the gems in Icewell keep and the torn silk drops off the giants inside the arena deep within Kael =)

Yep just got them bad boys got gems from haunted Seachest in Cobalt Scar Glove got from Giants near arena
