For a tunare pally this is better then the normal epic, Best thing about it is the 45AC and great for bashing with when you have to AAXP to be able to. Even a great sword no matter the level for a pally, we are not a DPS class and this is an awesome agro keeper.

Just did the Corrupted Unicorn and Corrupted Faun with group of 4. Me a 61 Pally, a 61 Druid, a 61 Chanter, and a 56 Shadow Knight. The Unicorn was the tough guy but not as hard as I had anticipated. I took the HT and was blinded a couple of times. We took him down fine!
Any hints on loc of Corrupted Panther? We tracked the zone several times to no avail.

I still haven't managed to get the skull from Hate, (hopefully in a few days) But I did take down the 3 corrupted. They were all very easy. The faun is the weakest around level 52, He's just like a normal mob in any of the PoP tier 1 planes. The panther is about lvl55 and just a LITTLE stronger than the Faun. The Unicorn is the *******...we had a 63 druid pull him with snare, and he also killed his pet and ate his HT. 65 Pally tanked him, while a 65 ranger shot him down with 1k+ bow hits. He was annoying though. He blinds and fears often. Me and the other pally were blind through the entire fight. Other than that, he is easy. Hope that helps anyone going after this awesome sword. All 3 were done without a slower, also.

If I am amiable to pally trainer in Felwithe, then I need faction work to improve to ally to do the ND?

There is no way to raise the PoG faction. You only need to be 55 and a follower of Tunare to do the quest, unless you have killed in Growth and ruined your faction.

I am level 55 Tunare Pally. Do I or Can I go to POG to receive the quest alone, or do I need a group just to get to Takish to Hail him? I am assuming my faction is ok.

Finished this quest for my Nature's Defender today (12/02/02). Thought I'd leave some helpful information to those still working on it on this board. I did not do any multiquesting so I cannot confirm on those issues. (though I have heard that if those helping MQ are 55+ in level and not KoS in PoG and can be given the quest it can in fact be multiquested). The corrupted mobs all spawn in wakening lands. They do wander but can often be found somewhere south of the lake area. The Corrupted Panther is a L55 warrior and triple hits for 200. He is magic resistant until tashed. The Corrupted Faun is a L57 rogue so keep ppl in facing it. He can do lots of damage but isn't as magic resistant and can be stunned. The Corrupted Unicorn is the most difficult of the three as a L60 shadowknight with 1k harm touch, 350 double attacks and casts blindness. Even with tash this mob is very magic resistant. These creatures can summon and you need to plan on a shorter pull distance if possible. None of these Corrupted Animals have any faction hits at all. The Corrupter of Life spawns deep into the second floor of the Plane of Hate. You will nearly clear the second floor before getting to this mob. It is hard to track from first floor often but can be tracked from the second floor. Once you have all 4 no drop items (and are a level 55 knight at least) go to the Plane of Growth (off wakening lands). If you are a Tunare follower and have never killed in PoG, you are not KoS in PoG. From zone in head SE to neg 3475 pos 1200 where the Guardian of Takish stands outside the building. Use the messages posted above to get quest. If he doesn't respond to your hails just jump in with "I am a knight" and he will respond to that. Turn in all 4 items at the same time to get your sword. Be sure to bring a porter or a gate potion with you as there is no zone out on PoG. Good luck!!

Corrupter of Life can easily be tracked from the entrance. With 200 tracking at level 60, I could see him from zone in. Remember Z-Axis distance (vertical displacement) doesn't matter, I could track a mob 10,000 feet above me, if it's horizontal displacement from me is only a few feet.
aye, if this guy is up then you can see him from anywhere in the zone, on any floor. At lvl 57 he was the only mob up at the time that was red to me so I seen him the entire raid while people sent tells asking if their mob was up. /sigh

We downed the Corrupter of Life in Hate today. The New Hate is very different from the old both in terms of mobs and layout. From the port in, Maestro's Cathedral is South across the little bridge. There's a building just to the right of the entrance to the Cathedral that we cleared (2 spawns I believe) and used as our base of operations for the Corrupter, the Deathrot Knight and the Hand of Maestro (which now, is Drk Blue at 60, procs a AoE lifetap, and looks like the Reanimated Hand from LGuk only bigger).
The Corrupter of Life can be found on the east side of the Catherdral, outside, close to the rear. Maestro was up and we did not agro him when we pulled though whether that was from a good pull or a narrow agro range we don't know. He went down fairly easy though our Warrior tank did have to use defensive at one point. I'm not sure if they've changed the respawn timer. I was up there 2 days before and he was not up but that could have been due to insufficient tracking range.
Anyways I have my skull thanks to my guild and am now merely waiting for Tarkish to spawn (PoG raid wiped him out 2 hours before I got there).

I have been to Hate twice over the last couple of weeks and Corrupter of Life was not up. Does anyone know what his spawn time is or if he needs to be triggered? Need this last peice to get my ND. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Once you are KOS is PoG you can never regain your faction. Might as well give up on this and go for your epic if you are KOS.
Got my Natures Defender today finally ..corrupter was the last spawn we pulled in Hate and I was the only death..well worth it. Im gonna try and do epic but while I have this doesnt really seem that necessary :)
The real epic is just that, and sufficiently better.

a friend of mine took my 59 pally for a raid in PoG , i was pissed as hell when i found out about it caus now my KoS in PoG and cant finish the quest , any ideas of what faction i need to raise / how to raise that faction inorder to ocmplete the quest ?

You can repair all but one faction by killing in crushbone till you are no longer kos, then doing the muffin quest in FP till you are as high as you want to be. Saddly, the one faction you cannot fix this way, or any other way, is the faction that the actual mobs in PoG are on, along with the female Elf along the water in the high elf city. You can NEVER fix those factions.

Muffin quest? Not sure if it's in FP or Qeynos, but get about 4000 muffins and hand em in 4 at a time. :P Think that'll help.

I just dinged 55 today, earlier last week I went to WL and got my skins, we had a druid pull mobs to the port in rings, had 13 people, was easily done, the only hard part was unicorn which had me blinded most of the fight, druid pulled unicorn, got HT'ed, then died, 3 others died until it finnaly dropped. Tommorow I go to PoG to get my Natures Defender, a friend is mqing the skull with me and wasnt able to do it today. Good luck fellow Tunarian Paladins on obtaining this.

Well, I got the Fleshless Skull in a PoH raid for a friend Tunarean Paladin. Read this, made me think "Okay, the hard part is done, lets go kill these silly corrupted mobs and get it over with". Right? Wrong!
We've been in the WL yesterday. Our forces contained a Lvl 54 Druid, Lvl 56 Paladin, Lvl 60 Paladin, Lvl 60 Monk, Lvl 49 Cleric, Lvl 55 Enchanter, Lvl 53 SK and Lvl 58 Warrior. Looks pretty lethal right?
We started by tracking down the Corrupted Panther and killing him. This guy was ytm meaning he was either 55 or 56. Didn't take a while, would have taken less but we got jumped by one of the Priests, which is also 55 or 56, so it took a little but eventually we took down both of them. Next thing I couldn't see the other corrupted even though I saw them before, since Druid tracking sucks, so we moved towards the middle zone Lake (by the way, the SK got jumped by a few Tunare creatures, Eysa Florawhisper among them, so be cautius when taking evil people with you on this ride). Also, the way WL is built, it's pretty hard to follow the Tracker, on occaisons I took a few steps and some people lost me, so be careful with that too. Looked at track again, saw the Corrupted Unicorn and his pet. Figured he's an SK since pet was gtm. He was rtm. Took the pally with me to show him where to pull from. We found this corrupted unicorn, which looks like a unicorn only black with a skeleton pet. Pally aggroed him and got behind me to track the way back to our little army. I run to the army, get there, look behind, no Pally. Used the /who command and figured out he died. Luckily, or not so luckily, the corrupted unicorn roamed right into our camp. We fight and fight and fight... And by the time it wiped out me after killing all of our tanks and basically everyone but the Enchanter, it was at 70% health.
This little Unicorn, which is a LOT harder than the corrupted fawn or panther (both lev 55 or 56), will Summon, Fear, Dot and Blind. Also it has strong and quick attacks, which makes it a VERY hard mob to kill. Don't underestimate this one. The corpse dragging took about 30 minutes since it's hard to see anything in WL if it's not right in front of you.

In case you try to hail the questgiver when under level 55, you do not get the quest text in reply. The guy just stands there and hailing leads nowhere.
Once a lvl 55 Paladin with adequate faction hails him, he begins his quest rant. You then are able to complete the quest.
Hope that clears the level thing up. Cant get the quest under 55, so wont get the reward for turning in items UNLESS 55+.

You sure this is lvl 55 and above? Has anyone actually tried it before 55 and failed or are you guys just assuming it's 55+ because the word "Knight" was used? Please no opinions, just facts.

my only question is this. Can you multi this quest? My friend pally has the skull, but he is an eruding, and if I get the skins does that mean we can turn them in together? Or do I need to do this one alone?

Hello, I am in need of information on the spawn time and any placeholders of the corrupted animals. My guild raided WL and couldn't find any of the corrupted animals. We stayed there for a while and killed many panthers/fawns/unicorns, hoping to spawn the corrupted. If anyone has some information on these, please reply to this post.

I have a 52 Paladin who like many Paladins may never get his Epic piece.
Like Many Paladins I know I have been to many Dragon Raids and have never been given the oportunity to roll on a book ..Even when one droped which wasn't close to common in my experience. I don't mind the countless hours of preparation, but I do mind the fact that this Dragon takes so long to respawn when there is a backlog of Paladins 10 deep wanting this rare drop that you need at least 25 people to help you get.
This means you have to belong to an Uber guild and get it awarded (if it drops) , or you need to go to many raids (waiting for respawn time of course)..Ooops whats that your level 53 now? You tried to hard did you? Can't fight those dragons any more..But don't worry now we get to fight even more Uber Dragons that require more people and more Uber Guilds..Oh you don't belong to an Uber Guild..?
Well if you are an Elf derivitive of the Tunare Ilk you can get a BETTER weap than the Epic..If not you are just Veranted!
Well it's only a game ..but whats wrong with Karana..and while you are at it how bout making that dragon spawn a bit more often and maybe drop something now and then..I know its supposed to be hard ..but I am a hardworking Paladin who has my Ghoulbane and Soulfire..both worthless at my level except to use for my Epic..the one that I may never complete even tho I spend every game moment working on it.
I think it's great that the Natures defender exists..and Tunare takes care of her children..(who are Verant employees no doubt)..But lets get some diety quests for the other dieties they are even more fearsome than Tunare!

I finally saw one of thses in person on tunare sever at the bank in Gfay by far the coolest looking weap i have ever seen & maby in the game.
Feel sorry for all u pallys that get to lv 30 find out about this weap & hit yourself because u thought the elf pallies starting stats SUCKed.

I am a dwarf pally on the Luclin Server, i do think that elf starting stats as a pally suck, but i am quite contempt w/ having a Massive Dragonclaw Shard (28/30 +3 wis +3 int 1hs)

I got mine on the second floor - that is all I can tell you because it was my first and only trip to Hate Plane.
