Tynkale is a Paladin Guildmaster in Northern Felwithe at 0, -325. He is on Find (Ctrl+F).

You say, 'Hail, Tynkale'

Tynkale says 'Hail noble, ______! Can you be of [service to the Clerics of Tunare] or are you not from our order?'

You say, 'I can be of service to the Clerics of Tunare.'

Tynkale says 'That is good. Prove yourself, then. Are you [new to Felwithe] or have I been conversing with a [veteran of the good fight]?'

You say, 'I am new to Felwithe.'

Tynkale says 'Then stand at attention when I speak. I want you to venture to Kelethin and seek out Tandan Nybright. He is an old member of ours. He had some hardships and he fell from Tunare's grace, yet he is still a member of our family. He will be the one who reeks of elven wine. Greet him by name. We are worried for him.'

a drunkard is located at 438, 627 in Kelethin near Merchant Tananie who is on Find. If he isn't there, he roams to +559, +370, +162 which is the lift northeast of where Merchant Tananie is.

You say, 'Hail, a drunkard'

A drunkard says, 'Can you -hic-... Spare some copper or -hic-... silver? I just... -hic-... need some change to buy something to drin... Er... Eat. -hic-''

Give him a bottle of Elven Wine.

A drunkard says, 'Oh... ... Thank you! Oh, what has become of me?! Look at me! I was great once. I wish I never had that shocking experiencee.'

You say, 'Are you Tandan Nybright ?'

a drunkard says 'How did you know my name? You must be from Felwithe. .. Excuse my condition. I am not the man I once was. I have had a [shocking experience].'

You say, 'What shocking experience?'

a drunkard says 'My daughters have become bloodthirsty bandits. They went off to visit Antonica and when they returned, they became bandits. They now attack every poor traveler who happens upon them. They have disgraced the name of Nybright. Will you [hunt the Nybright Sisters] or is this not to your liking?'

You say, 'I will hunt the Nybright Sisters.'

a drunkard says 'I am most thankful. Many adventurers would not help me with this matter. Go and seek out the Nybright sisters. I gave each of the four a personalized necklace. Return them all to me when the deeds are done. May the Tribunal watch over you.'

The Nybright bandit camp is at location -795, 2680 in Lesser Faydark, on the south wall, just east of the Castle Mistmoore zoneline.

Just saying "Tandan Nybright" without the word "hail" gets him to respond with the line about shocking experience.

Furthurmore, after handing in the necklaces, he gave me a leather belt. I then gave him an elven wine and he said "oh...<hic>... Thank you. Oh, what has become of me? Look at me! I was great once. I wish I never had that shocking experience." The quest then completed.

It seems to have been changed at some point to require an Eleven Wine to start the quest as keauven deduced.
Being curious, I ran to Felwithe and spoke with Tynkale and he still gives the original responses...but now the drunkard doesn't respond to his given name.

Hailing the drunkard with: 'Hail Tandan Nybright' and get the following:
A drunkard says, "Can you -hic-...Spare some copper or -hic-...silver? I just.. -hic-... need some change to buy something to drin...Er... Eat.-hic-"

So it seems he wants something alcoholic to drink (well he is a drunkard after all) Upon handing him an alcoholic drink he responds:
A drunkard says, 'I have no need for this, Atlans. You can have it back.'

The only way you can figure out that Elven Wine is what the drunkard wants is from the original Tynkale text where he mentions "He will be the one who reeks of elven wine" Upon handing the drunkard an Elven Wine, you get the following:

A drunkard says, "Oh...<hic>...Thank you! Oh, what has become of me?! Look at me! I was great once. I wish I never had that shocking experiencee (sic)."
You gain experience!
You say, 'what shocking experience?'
The quest then continues as before with:
a drunkard says 'My daughters have become bloodthirsty bandits. They went off to visit Antonica and when they returned, they became bandits. They now attack every poor traveler who happens upon them. They have disgraced the name of Nybright. Will you [hunt the Nybright Sisters] or is this not to your liking?'

Maybe this change was made to make it a starting city quest for Kelethin? <shrugs>

Updated, thanks very much for making this a simple cut-and-paste into the quest write up!
alternative ways?
# Apr 17 2014 at 9:48 AM Rating: Decent
Is it possible there are other ways to do this quest?
Can a rogue pickpocket the necklaces?
If you talk to any of them and use the word sisters they say, "yes there are four of us. Why do you bother me?"
which implies there is a dialog you could have, I just have not been able to figure it out.

Also why are they wood elves? The father is clearly a high elf, are they adopted?

There is more to this quest than meets the eye. Or I read too much into things.

I don't really see the importance of this quest, but it might just be me. Smiley: laugh

You must kill each sister with the last name Nybright in Lesser Faydark at their camp near the Castle Mistmoore zone. They are around level 10 and will gain come together if they con something other rhan green to you, and you dont paci them, or they are out of aggro range.

Each sister drops the necklace, although they don't always drop it. The necklaces are each different, even though they have the exact same name and description. If you try to loot one you have looted before, it won't let you because it is lore, so it is bes to keep track of which sisters necklaces you have looted.

And the reward is a Targ Shield, with like 7 ac..... Smiley: disappointed

Lenchantress Ahlahmode
56 Prime Healer of Fennin Ro
Brother Ysystzu
65 Kungfu Mastah of Fennin Ro
Cunningone
22 Ranjah of Fennin Ro

(And more, but I don't like them)

There sister aren't that tough. I soloed them with my lvl 10 druid for the exp and had no problem. I tired these ladies at 9 they all conned red and could handle them unless snare missed then it would be tough but at 10 they con yelllow-dark blue and are no problem

Completed the quest solo as an 18 bard. Ran into and away from Equestrielle once. Only had to run from the girls twice due to mobs and slow/inneffective mesmerizing of my tunes. All was great EXCEPT - I didn't get the shield. I got a chainmail coif instead, and it was only worth a couple plats. Oh well.

I've found him, but I can't get him to talk about his daughters. I've tryed hailing, greeting him by name, asking what daughters, asking what experiences, and giving him a copper.
What am I missing? or can I just turn the necklaces in to him anyways?
I did go talk to the guy in Fel again, but still no idea.

You dont have to give him a drink, while of course it would be nice of you to do so. Just say: Hail Tandan Nybright, but be sure you dont have him selected while doing so or he will just say hic and ask for a drink.

I've been camping the Bandit Sisters for 24 real hours now. I have 2 questions:
1. One sister i killed dropped an Amulet type necklace. Is this valid to turn in or is it a 'Red Herring'?
2. I could have sworn, after putting 2 beaded necklaces and that amulet type necklace in the bank, that I went back, killed another sister, looted a third beaded necklace, and gated back to Kelethin. Yet, when I arrived, I had no necklace in my inventory! (At first i thought I had pressed the wrong button on the Lore Item popup but, after reading these posts, is it a fact that I was looting a lore item I already have?

The amulet is just an amulet they drop.
You might have looted one you already had. There's one that drops off each sister, but all are called the same thing. I don't know if identify would show which belonged to which.
MAD MY LITTLE PONY

Great camp for lvling, not too hard with druid harmony... But watch out for Equestriell (sp?) the corruped! She big, mean, and HT (harm touches) for over 400 hp. Most noobs, that camp the sisters wil not have that much hp, or BARELY over it... This means, when the mad pony shows up, and is ticked off somehow, some noob is gonna get it big time. (And yes, I know this from personal experience.... a few times. But the exp and loot are too good to pass up over a couple of deaths.)

They're referring to Equestrielle the Corrupted (who is KoS to just about everyone I think), not to the pained unicorn, who is friendly to good race/classes.

I thought Tatiyanna's post was very encompassing, but I have a few of my experiences to add. I am a druid, and went from about 13 to 17, mainly on these rich sisters. I have also done my Tunare Warden quest, camped the necromancer for a friend, and gotten Thistle several times. I have spent days realtime in Lesser Faydark. Hope this helps:

You must follow the east wall, and then the south wall to get to the Nybright camp. Watch out around 1500 longitude for the Tier'dal camp, and continue to the sisters. I have Never seen a brownie scout along this pathing. Thistle Underbrush or Ivie Bramble----, which are deadly enough to 10-15th level playes, may come along, but no brownie scouts. Take this path later when you venture to Mistmoore also. The north wall does take you through brownie territory. They've gotten me there a couple times.... can't wait to make white chocolate out of them.

The biggest hazard, why the zone as often had just me in it, is obviously Equestrielle. She sees through Invis vs animals, she sees through superior camoflauge, so don't even bother. Using the "hide" skill DOES work. You must make sure, however, after you have clicked "hide", that some sort of aggressive or amiable creature cons indifferent to you. This is the only way, besides having your friends tell you, to know if you're actually hidden. Also, I was in a group with a dwarven warrior, sitting in LFay; had Equestrielle attack him, and then me (the hidden elf). I can only guess that once she attacked my friend, she saw me. I have yet to find an area in the zone, where I would like to be, where she has not gone by. Entrances to Steamfont, Gfay, Mistmoore, all around the Nybrights, orc camps, necromancer tower, the south wall, and especially the Ranger outpost. Never go there to sell. The only way they will defend you against anything, is if something attacks them before you. Keep in mind that if you spend any time in this zone, and have 401 hit points or less, Equestrielle WILL kill you from time to time. I think that the experience gain from the rapidly spawning sisters makes up for this. Just make sure you're bound in Gfay (FV server). I have had her chase me after being harm touched (when i was high enough to take the 401), but that is rare. It is often a hit and run.

The shadowed men look fearsome, but keep to themselves. I was on the north wall once, talking with a questing Cleric, and had a shadowed man walk right THROUGH both of us... terribly disturbing.

Back to the rich kids. They always drop rusty weapons. They often drop bronze weapons (~4pp for the rapier), jewelry, various grimore pages, and jems (i have seen ivory- 5-6pp!). Not bad for lower level bandits! The rewards that my friends and I have gotten for the necklaces are as follows: Bronze warhammer, leather belt, ringmail coif, bearskin gloves, leather shoulderpads, and the targ shield. My friends and I combined have done this dozens of times, and it appears to be quite random what you get.

Keep in mind, that after you have killed them enough times, they will start to aggro on you. Druids will no longer be able to do the harmony in the fire pit trick

The centurion that wanders by the sisters is the PH for the brownie, Ivie. So, if you don't want another brownie wandering around, sit down and let the centurion be.

If you get in trouble with too many sisters, zone into Mistmoore to clear their "aggro", but be ready to zone back before an initiate familiar or something whacks you. Mistmoore is not a safe place to rest!

If you happen to be, or be friends with, an elven druid or cleric, kill the rancorous ghasts whenever you see them. They can drop putrescent hearts, which are used to get the initiate of Tunare Symbol. With the trivial loot on FV, it was almost impossible to do the initiate quest as I got higher in level. Had to recruit a younger cleric to do the quest with me. Can't get the hearts from green-conned ghasts. On FV, I've seen these hearts go for 50pp, easy.

To sum it up, these sisters are rich, but you have to be willing to pay the ultimate price for their wealth. Safe travels, and may we all go back to slay Equestrielle one day.
RE: Some more notes
# Jun 09 2002 at 7:38 PM Rating: Default
The harmony trick will work if you stay out of agro range and pull the wicked ladies in (this did fail a few times, not the majority, so it's best to have at least 1 partner to watch your back)

Not just Ivory, they drop gems that sell around 5pp. Also drop various news letters (all say volume #7 but come from various races) just dump them once you give them a read, they are No Rent.

The Tunare quest is also valid for human of those 2 casts (don't bother harping to say they can't be one or the other I'm not going to waste 20 mintues looking it up but it is for the 3 elves and human races)

Also you can't hide from the tainted one. She wiped me and my 2 partners in the time it took me to look away from the screen

Very Good run down azuresky :)

PS: if you get loaded up (and that happenes real fast if you are in a group) don't zone if you can, there is a wood elf merchant in the ranger outpost and merchants in the brownie village (wolf form or you will get agroed)

Oh and use those rusty weapons to increase your smithing skill
Watch for Bad horsey

Was practicing Lull and 2HB on the girls with my 18 hi elf pally. Girls mostly con dk and lt blu with the occaisional green. They do spawn quickly, so watch for adds. Do not turn your back on them.

Was at the ranger outpost selling the rusty stuff they dropped when BAM -- Equestrial the corrupted has hit you for 401 points -- LOADING PLEASE WAIT

In the ranger outpost -- with all those friendly elves around! Be careful -- horsey is as nasty as a brownie scout, excpet not as persistent -- it is true that I have always been popped by it only once then it leaves me alone (with any characters I have played in LFay). If you have less then 425 HP or so you will prolly get whacked on occaision.

I just soloed the sisters as a lvl 12 druid and had a great time. Only once did a sister con red so I practiced kiting her. Lots of blue and yellow cons with some white cons too. Never saw the horse...

one time on my way back from selling loot my cammo wore off in front of a brownie scout. I gated soooo fast....... I was rooted at my bind site.

~whew~

check out this map for the scout paths~~

the sister's camp is in the range of this big black horsey abormination's agro. He hits for 100some in melee but most of the time he just nuke for 400some ONE time and leave the scene, regardless if the target is still alive(very rare if you're under 14 :( ) or there are other targets. I have no idea why this mob shows such behavior, but because of this horse your party will lose about one member per 1-2 hour. Near bind is a must.

Equestrielle the Corrupted's origin was through a GM event. My friend had the fortune or misfortune to be there.

Fironia and invited guests were lounging in lower faydark. Equestrielle,a close unicorn friend of Fironia's or so I'm told, was there as well. Cazic Thule showed up, banished Fironia from Lower Faydark. He then preceeded to corrupt the land. Fironia later showed up, and said "I will no longer allow this to go on" and such. To which Cazic Thule replied, "I will hurt something close and dear to you." He then diseases Equestrielle and leaves. Fironia rushes to the poor unicorn and vows that she will cleanse her.

I heard of this secondhand and hope I got the facts right. =)

Equestrielle will only aggro if you go near that undead area I've found.

If you med at the tree near Shayla you won't get touched and you can do the trick to split Kayla and Shayla from the other two still.

JUST DON'T BACK UP DOWN THE HILL WHERE KAYLA IS FACING!!

If you need to fight them move around so that you are well away but behind the tent where Jayla stands (Keeping some distance to avoid aggro).

When running to and from the camp use the ranger outpost as a midpoint as it's the only way of avoiding running into the nasty horse ;)

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet but you can get more than a targ shield for completing this quest. So far I've gotten the targ shield, a leahter belt, a leather shoulderpad and a ringmail coif(I think it was ringmail). This is absolutely the best exp and loot for a druid from lvls 9-15. I've gotten 4 lvls in one night and made over 50pp. I love it
druids solo this at 9

I don't know what you're all talking about but I solo'ed here with my completely untwinked druid at lvl 9. Just buff with wood skin, thistlecoat and firefist then stand directly on the fire and harmony yourself. This will harmony the 3 sisters by the tents leaving Kayla by the tree. Cast your other DS on yourself and pull her with snare, if it sticks run away and ingite her 2-3 times then melee till she dies. This works simply because the 2 DS will kill them very fast, even if you do no damage at all. At 9 this isn't mana efficient but GREAT exp. Hope this helps.

Greetings. Tatiyanna, wandering druid extraordinaire here.

People are asking all kinds of questions about the Nybrights and surviving in Lfay. So, I will give you what I have learned. Some of this I learned here. Some, I learned by doing.

Alright, first off, this is a great quest for xp and loot. I suggest it for lvls 10-15. As you lvl up, you will need less and less people in your group. At lvl 10, a balanced group of 4 should do well. By 13, it was me and a mage. I still come back here at 19 because it is relaxing and an easy way to make a couple of plat minimum.

Ok. The Lfay survival guide:

Most everyone by now has read how to avoid Brownies. The scouts have a very specific trail they follow, and do not see through invis (guess they didn't bother to buy the spell :P). For heading here, as long as you follow the zone wall, you are fine.

The Tier'dal. Ok, the inkies stick to thier camp. I have had one come upon me only once, and I have been all through Lfay. I don't know why he was wandering. I suspect that either someone happened onto the camp and triggered him to walk or perhaps there is a quest that triggers a walker. In either case, it is a very rare occurance.

The last common risk is the Shadow Men. I've seen one wander before. I held my breath when I walked within a few feet of it. But, no agro. These guys have a small agro radius. Infact, the only time I have ever had a Shadowed Man agro me was when I was trained in Lavastorm. Everything there is agressive just about. At any rate, there are only a few that wander. And, either they do not see through invis OR in Lfay they con most people indiff. If you are worried about them, you probably have not done anything to lower your faction with them, unless you worship solusek ro. He opposes them.

Now, the other dangers are undead. If Lfay is tainted on your server, then this zone is more dangerous than normal. All I can suggest is to group, and to not hit this camp until closer to 13-15. That seems to be a better range for the tainted Lfay. My understanding also is that the corrupted equestrial has a set trail she wanders. I have seen, i think the pained unicorn along the zone before. (I do not know if equestrial wanders the same path or not.) She does not follow the zone, though. She only touches it and goes back into the forest. For undead, I would suggest finding a necro/sk or a cleric to help with this, as both are well equipped for handling undead. For necro/sk, they shouldn't take any neg faction hits they don't want. They might get The Dead faction hits. Good news is this would ONLY come when you turn in the necklaces. So, all they have to do is not turn in necklaces. They can still get thier share of the loot. :)

Alright, now that we've had a quick discussion about the dangers of Lfay, the Sisters.

These girls are blessedly easy. They begin INDIFFERNT to you, which seems to be unusual for Bandits. they are in a simple camp formation: 3 around the fire, 1 flanking. This makes for easy pulls for the skillful. This is a good camp for practicing these kinds of pulls. And a good camp for Enchanters and Druids to shine.

Enchanters can lull from afar easily, since you get a message about its sucess. Harmony does not. With harmony, you have to look for special effects. NP.

Druids. Ok, you have a full camp. Have your group wait on the side of the camp opposite the ruined Rings/Mistmoore zone. They should wait at the point where the ground angles down, making it a hill. This should keep you from getting any of the sisters as adds. Bear in mind the Tier'dal camp is behind you a hill or two over. But, they will not pay you any mind here, so no fear. Remember what I said about wanderers. RARE.

Alright. Druid. Walk up and stand on the camp fire. Toasty. Now, cast Harmony on YOURSELF. You will see the pink halo appear around all three girls.

Now, go and pull Kayla (the flank) to your group. Snare her. Root if you want. Do not let her run back to the camp, and she will trigger an add.

Ok. the next one you will want to pull is Shayla, who is to the left of the fire if you are looking at it from the area I told you to park your group.
Harmony as above and pull Shayla.

The third you will pull is the one to the Right of the fire. Again, Harmony as above. Pull

A word of caution. Depending on how much mana is flying you may have to med before you clear the camp. No problem. These girls have a very fast spawn rate. If one respawns, simply harmony her. Sometimes Kayla will respawn when you are ready to pull the bandit to the right of the fire. And sometimes Shayla will respawn when you are ready to pull the last.

If Shayla is spawned again: For the last bandit, who is opposite the fire from you, Harmony as above. How, walk up beside her . Pull her to the zone edge, then around to your party, keeping her out of the (lessened but still existent) social range of Shayla and the others.

As you are up in lvls, it will be easier and easier to clear this camp before having to med.

You have to turn in a necklace from each girl. While the necklaces all ID the same and are lore/no drop you can still carry one from each girl. The drop ratio on each is 1 in 2 or 1 in 3.

And sometimes these ladies drop bronze and jewels. So, it is a rewarding camp all around.

Have fun!
