Find Keeper Bile in West Cabilis at location +270, 820, 18.
Keeper Bile bows before you as a gesture of kindness and respect. 'Greetings. I am Bile, Keeper of the Apprentice Ranks. My knowledge is that of the first circle of necromancy. I was once a great necromancer, but now i have a greater calling to protect the words of Kotiz. I also Conduct many tests to ensure the spells are deciphered correctly. I am in need of an apprentice to [collect components.]' You say, 'I will collect components' Keeper Bile takes out a tattered scroll and looks upon its words.'Hmm. Yes. I will need the following; One large scorpion pincer, one sabertooth cub canine and two brittle skulls. Bring these to me and I shall pay you and if I have an overscribed spell, I shall give you that also. Upon handing him a Sabertooth Cub Canine, a Large Scorpion Pincer and two Brittle Iksar Skulls: Keeper Bile tosses the items into a nearby box and reaches into a sack at his feet. He hands you your reward. 'This spell is going to need some major testing. I can always use more of the same components.' Your faction standing with Brood of Kotiz got better. Your faction standing with Legion of Cabilis got better. You gain experience!! You receive 7 silver from Keeper Bile. By this point in the game and with changes, it's not too worth it. The spell you get is random (I got Cavorting Bones) but more than likely you already have the spell. Compared to the time to get the parts and the reward, not really worth the effort now.

i was wondering if there was more every other class and race gets armor but not this 1? y? i wanna know if there is 1 i have been looking everywhere but havnt found anythang yet so can some1 help me?

All the necro spell vendors have been moved to inside the Necromancer guild tower, ground floor.
This quest can be a money maker, especially money loot doesn't exist in the land of Kunark.
Why? Check out the mobs in the old world. Plaque rat tail is worth more than 1pp each. Wolf fang, bat bang, etc are worth 3gp+ each and they are stackable.

I disagree with you guys that say it isnt worthwhile. Yes if you are twinked or if you seeded your toon with ubber plat its not worth the while. If however you are starting a necro that has nothing more than what you spawn with then it is not only necessary but down right critical to do this to get your spells.
why? Well since you are too weak to fight much more than pups ect you dont get much loot. The best Ive found is to hit the emerald cockroaches as the shells are worth about 1gp 5silver to merchants. Since the most desirable level 4 spells cost you nearly 30 gold you simply cant afford to waste your hard earned cash on your level one spells. This quest gives you the chance to get those spells without parting with cash you simply cant afford to part with!

I'm about to turn lvl 5 and I have all 1st and 4th spells except gate, true north, and endure cold. Didn't twink and the only money I got was from killing and looting what was on the ground. Didn't know about this quest until now. You have to loot everything and sell most when you are young. Seems a lot of oldtimers forget this. lol

I agree an have twinked an untwinked toons an its a bear getting the spells you need with not having the cash to do so. I just created another Necro this time Iksar an I am going to try the quest.

There are 2 types of Canines's dropped, one is a sabertooth kitten and the other are Cub canine. I found out the hard way...doohhh!

Just did the quest, so it isn't broken...I suggest giving him the items in the order he requests them.

Seems like a broken quest right now. I gave the Keeper all the things he asked for in the order he asked for them and he said..thanks but I didn't ask for that stuff.
So I just gave him one Brittle Skull and that was the item he didn't want. Unless the quest list here and what he really wants are different. He does just ask for a "Brittle Skull" not an Iksar Brittle Skull.

This quest is a good side trek. If you happen to pick up the stuff along the way, go turn it in, otherwise dont go out of your way to find the quest items. There are lots of better quest around Cabilis.

And to make it worse, assuming you have already got the spell and try to sell it back to the merchant, you only get 1sp!
The two posts above this one are wrong. This quest is actually good if you are having money troubles. And the spells that you get can be level one or level four, I have found out. So if you are having trouble affording spells early, this quest is for you.

If you are under lvl 9 SK, or lvl 3 or 4 necro, this aint bad. Little bit of exp. Free spells. Worst thing is you have to run from Field of Bone to Lake and back to fulfill the quest. Get lots of bags
