As a warrior 46 and being kindly to Coldains, i got the bp with no problem.
Gave the bp with my enc, logged back my war and gave the gems. And got the bp.

i'm lvl 51 war and got the faction for the quest but when i talk to the captain njall he says some thing about joining the the ranks and such so how do you even start this what do i say because there is no [ ] around any words if you can help me it would be great i got the plate and the diamonds for it but if any one can tell me how to join the ranks or what he wants plz tell me thx.

Say "I am interested", and he will list out the various pieces. Say "What Breastplate" for info specific to the breastplate (basically, confirmation on what you need to bring him).

The Corroded BP drops in Kael. It is random drop just like all other Thurg armor drops in Kael.

What's the point of saying the min. level for this quest is 45 when getting just the diamonds requires you to be higher level than that? I guess you can buy them, but otherwise...HAH forget it.

Just a lil FYI the arena mobs ARNT that damn hard I trio the arena area all the time (including PoZ's) call me a lier or whatever.... I hydra a 58 cleric 56 ench and 57 monk and these mobs dont give me much trouble at all once slowed.... veterans included ... u dont need more than 10 ppl to do the arena succesuflly ... ill admit that just with my 3 it is slow but these guys arnt that hard .. just lotsa hps

In the pic it doesn't say iksar can wear this. Geez, why not? My iksar warrior really wants to do this quest, but if he can't use the reward, I'm not gonna trouble myself.

I NEVER trust the stat pics, if you look above at the stats it says Class: Warrior Race: All, oh I forgot, my monk had a few pieces.

Two nights ago my guild set up a WL entrance group with the idea of gaining CoV faction and a little experience. Not long after starting pulls Lieutenant Stormeye wandered up to the entrance on the normal path for the wandering Frost Giant Berserkers. My group ranging from 47 to 55 dropped him easily enough. The one-in-a-million part is that he dropped Corroded Chain Gauntlets and a Corroded Breastplate. I am sure this is very, very rare. I am now the proud owner of my Champion's Breasplate through what can only be the intervention of The Tribunal! Although the Arena area drops armor pieces at the highest rate it can drop almost anywhere in Kael off of the Storm Giant types from what I have seen.

All of the plate drops are NO DROP but they can be MQed aslong as you got the right faction and te gems

I don't know if there are any level requirements, but I finished this quest at lvl 40. Someone in my guild claims to have done Thurgadin armor quests at lvl 28. So, assuming you can get your faction to at least Kindly, it looks like there are no level requirement.
Also remember that all Velious quest armor can be multiquested, that's how I did mine.

I have recently found what I believe to be the most fruitful hunting spot for flawless diamonds....at least I say this from my own experiences at least - another spot may be just as good at another time. My suggestion is that downstairs (down the 'well') in Sirens Grotto there are more sirens than you can poke a stick at waiting to be pulled. The sirens have the BP gems on their loot tables (for more that just the melee classes), and although I'm sure it was an exceptional circumstance, the group I hunt with looted 6 (that's correct, SIX) flawless diamonds down there in around 2 and a half hours of hunting.
To respond also to what some people have said about killing the guards and veterans around the arena area in Kael....it IS possible to do with one group, providing it is a well balanced group all at least 55+ .....I have done this myself on several ocassions. Despite this, no BP drop to go with my diamonds yet :/ .....oh well....good things come to those who wait! =P (or so they tell me heh).

Im starting to collect these gems for when i need them in the future. Im a 52 Warrior and hope to start doin the Velious armor quests. Any news on where a good place to hunt for these Flawless Diamonds?

Ok listen up corroded BP drops off of KAEL VETERANS! got it? 8)..... Kill rats in dragon necropolis or somewhere els for the gems.... turn 3 gems and the BP into the dude and get the BP... __________________------_____________ To get the BP you WILL need atleast 3 groups veterans are VERY and i mean VERY mean.. they use warrior disciplins witch isn't so good.. your going to want atleast 1 56-60 SK to pull they pull very nice there... I am pretty sure the only fraction you will need to complete this quest is Kindly to the dwarfs of thurg... It shouldnt be that hard because it should be up that high from killing giants neways
