This is a non-progression task. It is a group mission (3-6 players) that begins with Gordish Frozenheart (click for map image) in the Norrath's Keepers camp of the Lavastorm Mountains.
Pre-requisites for requesting:
- Minimum Level 63
- Minimum "amiable" faction with Norrath's Keepers
Hail him to get a quest selection window pop-up.
You have been assigned the task 'Web of Lies'.
We have learned that some people are attempting to gain an alliance with the goblins that live in the Nest. It seems that the goblins are unhappy with the way they are treated by their masters. The folks that are trying to sway them to turn on their masters is telling them that the assaults on their lairs are entirely our doing and that the Norrathians invading their lands have been urged to do so by us! So far the goblins have only allowed one emissary into their lair unharmed, a dark elf. I do not know why they trust her; most likely she is an able liar. Regardless of the reason, I need you to go in their and kill her. Then tell these goblins about the deception played on them. You just need to be convincing enough that the goblins don't kill you before you can get out. The lies being told about us are unfair and dangerous to everyone.
Touch the portal to The Nest 0/1 (The Broodlands)
The entrance is the dragon portal in the southeastern quadrant of the Broodlands.
Find the Dark Elf 0/1 (The Accursed Nest)
This updates around location -2975, 550, -325 (second room from the southernmost room on the map). Here, you'll find the Dark Elf (Shala Belen), a goblin called "Keentooth, Tribal Elder", and 6x "Flameguard".
Shala leans forward and speaks to the ancient goblin in a voice too quiet for you to understand her words.
Keentooth shouts, 'Halt! You have invaded our lands and killed our people. This one here claims that this conflict is a misunderstanding and that peace is possible between your people and the great dragons of this land. I do not believe what she has to say. I do not believe that your people will be able to come forward in peace, nor do I believe that the rage you have caused our masters will ever be soothed. Prove to me that you can come forward in peace. Put away your weapons and all of you come forward with your hands empty and stand between my guards or leave. Those are your choices if you wish to live.
Keentooth, Tribal Elder says 'I knew you could not be trusted! Kill the invaders!'
Shala Belen says 'Bloody fools! I will not have you ruin our chance at peace!'
Keentooth shouts, 'My patience grows short! I must have all of the invaders here before me showing empty hands or I will order you destroyed. Indecision is one of the greatest weaknesses.'
Speak to Keentooth and find out what is going on 0/1 (The Accursed Nest)
You say, 'Hail, Keentooth, Tribal Elder'
No reply, but the task updates. All mobs aggro. All are mezzable and stunnable. All hit for a max ~1,000 and have no special abilities. They should be splittable.

Shala Belen has been slain by _____!
There is more going on here than you were lead to believe. Speak to the goblin elder Keentooth and learn more before making any rash decisions.
This completes the task.
