Armorer Xochtli & Pre-Requisites

For Thaell Ew Ritual Hero's Forge armor ornaments, see Armorer Xochtli (click for map image) on Thuliasaur Island. This is a lizardman located in the far eastern set of rooms in the Thaell Ew area of the zone.

Access to Thuliasaur Island is granted through progression (see this quest entry for details).

If you have indifferent or lower faction with The Thaell Ew, Armorer Xochtli tells you to get lost. If you have amiable or higher faction, he is willing to talk with you, but requires you've proved yourself to the tribe beyond all doubt before he'll reveal his secrets.

You will need maximum reachable faction with The Thaell Ew ("kindly" in this case) and must have completed all 10 tasks associated with the tribe:

- Defending the Tribe: Triceratopses - solo task from Scout Szarsis (map; northern part of zone - entry to Thaell Ew area)

Armorer Xochtli says 'You are not worthy of the secretssss I hold. If you were to prove yoursssself to our tribe beyond all doubts perhaps, but you are not there yet.'
Armorer Xochtli kindly considers you -- looks like quite a gamble.

There must be a hidden flag for those tasks. I got the above with only two of the ten tasks completed of those listed above. /sigh.

Items are 100% crafted; there is no quest/task involved. NPC Xochtli offers a single line of text asking if you are interested in armor -- nothing more.

I had already completed all tasks/missions in zone, and I was already at max faction, so I cannot confirm what minimum requirements may be.

The scribable recipe book he sells unlocks recipes for all the subcombines as well as the final ornament combines.

Kapok leaves from aviaks seem to be about a 50% drop rate. After 20 kills I had 11 leaves at which point I stopped keeping track, took me about 90 mins to loot 40 leaves.

I performed all combines in Plane of Knowledge. There doesn't seem to be any usable forge in the vicinity of the Thaell blacksmiths.
