This solo task begins with Researcher Neckchi (click for map image) at the zone-in of Degmar, the Lost Castle.

Pre-Requisites for Requesting:
- Minimum Level 95
- No tasks

Say "destroy" to request the task.

You say, 'Hail, Researcher Neckchi'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Oh, thank the gods, a sane person. You would not believe what I've been through. But you're obviously an adventurer, so perhaps you could [care] less what I've been through since you face adversity every day. Let me get to the point. I could use your help on a [task], and I can help [you] along the way.'

You say, 'I care!'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Thank you! So few adventurers want to talk, and instead want to just get to it. I am in quite the [quandary].'

You say, 'What quandary?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'The combine sent me here alone! Assuming all would be well within the habitat, and I could go about my [mission] in peace! But all is not [well]!'

You say, 'What was your mission?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'I was sent through, all but blindly, to set up a return teleport device, and contact the dwarves for their help in repairing the dome in Katta Castrum. While I have no problems setting up the device, things did not go [well] with the dwarves.'

You say, 'All isn't well?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'I thought it odd that this guard house was empty, but it gave me the space and privacy I needed to set up the return device. Once the device was active, I attempted to make contact, but not only was I immediately [attacked] by dwarves, I saw a [ghost]!'

You say, 'Attacked?!'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Yes! They caught me by surprise and dragged me to their Commander. He would not even listen to my pleas that I was on a diplomatic mission. He accused me of being a spy to scout the Castle before an attack, and he threw me into his dungeon. I saw so many [ghosts] I thought I would go mad myself! Luckily, [Damton] Silverhammer over there freed me and protected me from the guards long enough to cast an evacuate spell and get us back here to the guard house.'

You say, 'A ghost!'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Horrible things! The dead should remain dead! And when they pass through you... just, yuck! Please, I don't want to talk about ghosts any longer. Just thinking about them is terrible! Sorry, I know it's not rational, but I have phasmophobia and I just can't seem to conquer it.'

You say, 'Who is Damton?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'She is a very nice dwarf. The only sane one that I've met, though she claims there are others. Speak with her and she may have more information for you.'

You say, 'You, can help me?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Getting right to the point, if you [destroy] some [ghosts] and retrieve two items from the ends of the [branches] in this oddly designed castle, I will give you a device that will teleport you back to this guard room.'

You say, 'What branches are you talking about?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Well, I'm not sure what insane person designed this castle, but there are very few cross passages. Other adventurers reported to me that there are only two main branches, and that once you get to the end of a branch, to return here, you have to come all the way back through the rooms you just exited. Because the [ghosts] don't rest for long, you have to fight your way back again. Very inconvenient and dangerous.'

You say, 'I'll destroy some'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Very good. I've updated your journal with the task particulars, But I can give you more [details] if you wish.'

You have been assigned the task 'Castle Travel'.

Researcher Neckchi assumes that you do not like ghosts, despite the fact that you are braver than he. He will create a device for you that will teleport you back to the guard house if you retrieve the right items for him, and kill some ghosts along the way.

You say, 'Hold on... More details...'

Researcher Neckchi says 'First off, destroy any aggressive [ghost] you cross paths with. That is the basic fee I charge for this device. You're welcome to kill any non-aggressive ghosts if you like. I wish those horrible things would stay dead. You should, of course, defend yourself against the dwarves, but don't kill them if you can avoid it. To make the device function, I will need a focus item from the rooms at the end of each branch. Adventurers have mentioned a [workshop] and a [chapel].'

You say, 'What is the workshop?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Within the workshop, I have heard of some delicate magical ore. A sample of this will be ideal for the focus. Previous adventurers have brought some back, and they told me that it's very sensitive to travel magic, so be sure that you do not use any magic that would cause you to travel, or it might disintegrate.'

You say, 'What is the chapel?'

Researcher Neckchi says 'Within the chapel, you will find some small hammers used as a prayer focus for Brell. Please bring me one of these as the focus for that branch. Don't worry about chapel running out; they seem to have a vast supply of these hammers.'

Kill 8 ghosts 0/8 (Degmar, the Lost Castle)

Collect 2 Tiny Silver Hammers of Brell 0/2 (Degmar, the Lost Castle)

Collect 2 Second Stage Frangible Ores 0/2 (Degmar, the Lost Castle)

Kill any eight mobs with "spectral" in its name. In the Chapel, you can find hammer ground spawns (appear as small hammers around the dwarven statue). And in the Workshop, you can find ore ground spawns (appear as piles of ore with a hammer).

NOTE: Ores are flagged as "No Zone" which means if you zone, they disappear from your inventory. (Hammers are not flagged this way.) You can COH around group members and it will NOT destroy ore.

You receive "Degmar Relocation Device" (teleport item that only works in Degmar - ports you to the gate room). It's non-combat cast only, with a 30-minute recast timer.

This task is repeatable with a 6-hour lockout timer from the time of request.

I 5 boxed every task in this zone and only wiped once, until I got to this task. I wiped 3 times... Had nothing to do with the task really, just was the last one I needed and was rushing it. Nothing hard about it, I suggest doing it first for the clicky.

At the stage in which I resumed, I had only the ores to take care of.
These things are ground spawns in what is called The Workshop on the helpful map.
The text appears to inform that that the ore is looted from spectral ......
How the spectrals fit into the picture I do not know, unless they are the eight ghosts previously required. The spectrals and the ore ground spawn are in rooms distant from each other.

Using a mage to Call of Hero other group members is OK on this task...this does not destroy ore. I COH'd 3 toons and all was good =)

The quest does say if you leave the zone, you will lose the ore; I just didn't realize that this also applies to succoring back to the zone in to do the hand in. I had to evac during a fight when I got too many adds, and figured while I am at the zone in, I will do the hand ins, wrong, the hammers saty in inventory and the ore will poof.

The Ore is also tag "No Zone" which means, if you zone... you will lose it.

Ore is all over the smithy, which is right after the tavern (brewery) which is after the reception area with the dancers, and where I recommend getting your guard, citizen, and artisan kills in one good spot.
