The Darkened Sea Info & Guides: Overview | Progression & Task List | Raiding | Visible Armor This solo task begins with Alchemist Hesia (click for map image) in Katta Castrum: Deluge. She's found at /loc 90, -70, 11 (in the northeastern corner of the temple's main floor). Pre-Requisites for Requesting: - None Say "saved" to request the task. You say, 'Hail, Alchemist Hesia' Alchemist Hesia blinks at you with a vacant look in her eyes. She's clearly exhausted. 'Can't talk... have to organize these [books]. Don't want to lose any more.' You say, 'What books?' Alchemist Hesia says 'Yes, so many books lost. Books full of...words. The shissar took over the library. Who knows what they'll manage to steal from its tomes. So much knowledge in those pages. It must be [saved].' You say, 'Saved?' Alchemist Hesia says 'There is much of the magical arts that the shissar have not yet mastered. If they're allowed to learn all the secrets of the library... Everyone else seems so preoccupied with staying alive! Which I suppose is understandable.... Not us though, right _____? We can see the forest for the trees! You'll help me keep the tomes out of the shissar hands, right? By the way, you know how to swim, right...?' You have been assigned the task 'Library Aquatic'. Alchemist Hesia needs you to recover tomes from the royal library. The shissar have taken over the building, so be careful. You'll need to go diving to reach the teleporter inside of the library. 
Salvage whatever books you can from the combine library 0/10 (Katta Castrum: Deluge) Loot 10x "Water Logged Tome" from shissar mobs in the library (common drop), or pick them up as ground spawns. Four ground spawns in the library (about a two-minute respawn timer): - bottom floor, far northeast corner - bottom floor, far southwest corner - top floor, far northwest corner - top floor, far southeast corner If you don't have the task, you may pre-loot the books if someone else in your group is at this step of the task. Deliver the salvaged tomes to Alchemist Hesia 0/10 (Katta Castrum: Deluge) Speak with Alchemist Hesia 0/1 (Katta Castrum: Deluge) You say, 'Hail, Alchemist Hesia' Alchemist Hesia nods happily at the stack of wet books you hand over to her. 'The Combine owes you a great deal _____. The shissar have been denied at least a little of the knowledge of the library.' A fairly large puddle is beginning to form at your feet as the books continue to drip. Hesia says, 'I suppose I should decide how I'm going to dry these....' Like other tasks in this zone, the items only drop if someone in the group is on the step to loot them. The ground spawns are always there though.
But yes, the pre-looting the books does work -- they will count when you get the task.

As a ranger, you can headshot the shizzars and invis to the ground spawns. Going into the library, be prepared to act quick to root and shoot. roamers come in and out of the port in room. go right upstairs and root and shoot from the top of the stairs to anyone of them that are around the stair case. on the top floor, con the others you can see and i made my way to the NW corner and picked books up every minute and done. pick them up while invis. -Blindmanz

To get into the Library dive down under the building in the southwest corner. We were met by Chief Librarian Lars, Level 100, roamer.
Southwest corner book spawned in 1 minute 10 seconds on Bristlebane server today.
Don't forget to look behind you......
