NOTE: A patch on March 25, 2015, added a work-around to obtain items from Cazic Thule, Dread, Fright, and Terror:

- In the Plane of Fear, a harbinger of Fear can help adventurers get their epic 1.0 pieces that would normally drop from Cazic-Thule or the golems. These pieces cannot be multi-quested or traded. In addition, a harbinger of Fear can advance the Whistling Fists quest in the same way as Cazic-Thule. A harbinger of Fear will not be available on progression servers until they have opened up the TDS expansion? (need confirmation on this)

Furthermore, a patch on April 22, 2015, added a work-around to obtain bottleneck items from Phinigel Autropos (Kedge Keep), Gorenaire (Dreadlands), and Talendor (Skyfire Mountains). (not on progression servers). The workaround for this quest is to swim into Phini's area in Kedge and kill the "Swirlspine Guardians" until a mermaid titled "a harbinger of the seas" spawns - talk to her and she will spawn a version of Phinigel for you that will only drop your needed 1.0 piece.

Full Walkthrough

Head to the the Temple of Solusek Ro and talk to a human wizard named Solomen. He is located on the left side of the temple between the two undead knights (one room from Lord Searfire at +425, +80, +29).
You say, 'Hail, Solomen'

Solomen says 'Ah, I see you have found my study. This is where I study and scribe the history of magic in Norrath.'

You say, 'What history?'

Solomen says 'I have worked to chronicle everything from the beginnings of magic to what we consider the modern day of magic. Solusek Ro has been very generous to those who wield magic in Norrath. But throughout history there is one thing I have noticed - too much power corrupts the soul. I have seen and documented that the strongest wizards and those closest to Solusek Ro become corrupted by their power.'

You say, 'What Wizards?'

Solomen says 'Unfortunately, I don't have time to speak of such things right now. But I could use your help since you are here. I have here an envelope that I need delivered to one Camin Rah. You can find Camin in the wizard tower in the city of Erudin. He is a sage like myself whose knowledge rivals my own. Do you [agree] to undertake my task?'

You say, 'I agree.'

Solomen says 'Here you are, then. Good luck on your journey.'

  • You receive a Note to Camin.

  • The note identifies as "I've found what we've been searching for!")

You must hand this note to Camin, the next NPC involved in the epic. It reads:

"Hello, old friend, I have made an updated list and locations of the items required for my research. Dragon bones- Plane of Fear Jet Black egg- Unknown Mistletoe powder- Old Sebilis Rune of Lost Thought- Unknown Contact me when you find them Solomen"

Now head to the City of Erudin and find Camin. He can be found inside the Vasty Deep Inn on the 2nd floor. To find him, simply open the front door and go up the stairs to your right. Go down the hall and open the first door on your left. Camin will be behind the door at -1166, -11, 84. He is on Truespirit faction (similar to Beta Neutral - no faction for killing him and starts non-KOS to all).

  • Hand him the note that Solomen gave to you to get this response:

  • Camin says 'So you have met Solomen, eh? He is a man with a wealth of knowledge. It is good to hear he is well.'

    You say, 'Hail, Camin'

Camin says 'Go away! I have no time for you!'

You say, 'What are you searching for?'

Camin says 'Ah! A smart one, I see! If you really wish to know about such a thing, you will have to help me finance my studies. The knowledge I have acquired and researched did not come cheaply.'

You will need to give Camin 1000pp at this point.
Camin says 'Good, good, you show a willingness to learn of this with your offer. What I can tell you is that Solusek Ro had four followers who had shown exceptional aptitude in the arts of wizardry. Solusek Ro himself tutored them. He considered them to be like his own children. I know of one who still exists. He goes by the name of Arantir Karondor. He used to specialize in the storing of magic into physical objects. Arantir has been hiding for many, many years and will most assuredly be going by another name, so keep your eyes open. Anyway, be off, I need to continue my research. Return to me if you ever find Arantir Karondor.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by 10.
    You gain experience!

Now you must head to Halas. Once there, head toward the shaman guild and find a vendor named Dargon (location 350, 357) that sells a potion called Ro's Breath (identifies as "Powerful magic radiates from this object."). Buy this potion for around 1000pp and make your way back to Erudin.

  • Hand Ro's Breath over to Camin and get this response:

  • Camin says 'Very interesting... I've seen this work before. Yes, yes! It's the work of Arantir Karondor! Give this back to the person you got it from. Maybe he will have a clue to Arantir's location.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by 10.
    You gain experience!

  • Camin gives you back the potion.

  • It now identifies as "I know who you are."). The only difference is that it no longer has a charge of Shield of Lava. You must now take this potion back to Dargon in Halas. Once it's handed in, she will turn into Arantir Karondor and reply with:
Dargon says 'So, I've been discovered! You must know Camin - he is one of the only people who could have recognized my work. I have worked very hard to mask my presence here.'

    You say, 'Hail, Arantir Karondor'

Arantir Karondor says 'Before I tell you anything, I require you to help me. Seek a woman named Challice. Give her this ring and then return to me.'

  • You receive Arantir's Ring (identifies as "My love has no bounds").

  • You now need to seek Challice out inside the Felwithe Paladin guild at location -13, -263.

  • Give her the ring.

  • Challice says 'Oh yes? Arantir? What a fool he was! The man gave me everything, but for all his intelligence, he could never understand why I was truly with him. It was for his power; he could do anything. But when he mysteriously lost it, he became just another toy. I never loved him. Return this ring to him. He will understand that I have no desire to see him again.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by 10.
    You gain experience!

  • You get a different version of the ring back (identifies as "I never could love a man like you.").

  • Now you must head back to Halas.

  • You can hand the ring to either version of Arantir. Handing it into Dargon will spawn the real version.

  • Arantir Karondor says 'Ah, but it pains my heart to see this. How I could love a woman like that is beyond me. And yet, I still do love her. It was on the day I was to ask her to marry me that I lost my powers. When I was about to cast my greatest spell to prove my love to her, my magic failed. She ran out on me that day. But enough of me, do you wish to hear my story?'

You say, 'I wish to hear your story.'

Arantir Karondor says 'I once was one of four true followers of Solusek Ro. So great were the four of us that Solusek Ro himself made us each a special item. We did not know what the others' items were, but we realized that was for our own safety. Each one of us, after receiving the item, began to plot against Solusek Ro. Each of us believed we had enough power to dominate Norrath. Solusek Ro saw this and at the time we needed our powers most, he stripped us of them. Now I know two of the other wizards by name. One was called Sylen Tyrn, the other's name was Demunir Scry. The last wizard was a gnome, but I can't think of his name.'

You say, 'What about Sylen Tyrn?'

Arantir Karondor says 'Sylen was a high elf wizard, and like many high elves, he believed himself to be better than others. Because of his birth, he thought he was more noble and more intelligent than anyone else. I heard how met his demise - while flying over a vast area of water, his powers were stripped from him in midflight. He fell and was captured by a rival wizard who specialized in magics of the water. Search for that wizard and you could find a trace of Sylen.'

The "trace of Sylen" he speaks of can be found on Phinigel Autropos in Kedge Keep, just make sure you keep going on with the rest of the dialog below before you go there. A Blue Crystal Staff is what you need. It's one of Phinigel's rare drops so you're in for a "fun" camp. He can be taken out easily by two or three organized groups. He has a number of magic immune guardians surrounding him so you may want a monk to do the pulling.
You say, 'What about Demunir Scry?'

Arantir Karondor says 'Demunir was a human in a rush for power. He was extremely intelligent and resourceful but, unfortunately, was more interested in destructive magic. Hearing of an ancient land, he immediately traveled to it, believing there to be powerful relics left undiscovered there. While exploring, he came upon a dwelling that housed a powerful warrior. Believing himself to be more powerful, he attempted to take this dwelling for himself. While in battle with this warrior, Solusek Ro stole his powers and left him helpless. It is said that Demunir's item is the warrior's most prized trophy.'

After you go through the rest of the below dialog and get the note, you're in for another not-so-enjoyable camp. The item you need now is the Gnarled Staff which can be found on Venril Sathir in Karnor's Castle (/loc?). It's his uncommon drop.

Although only 55th level, Venril will take three or four groups to put down. He procs a 1500 point lifetap so your raid will need to manage aggro very carefully.
You say, 'Who is the gnome?'

Arantir Karondor says 'Ah, the gnome I know very little about. I know he was small and crafty, and that he had a brother. His brother's craft was that of making fireworks, and he was the unfortunate victim of one of his own experiments. His firework exploded, leaving his mind diminished in capacity, even for a gnome. I remember others calling him 'Old Stewpot' in jest. I do not know if this is his birth name, but it may help you to locate him. I hear he also stays close to water because of the explosion. You never know when another gnomish invention will go awry. Give him this letter to help motivate him to remember.'

  • You receive a Note from Arantir (identifies as "What is lost must be found").

  • It reads:

"Greetings Sir Gnome, I hope this letter reaches you in good health."

The gnome Arantir is referring to is Kandin Firepot. He has a 2.5-3 day respawn timer and is found at about -1490, 2845 in Butcherblock Mountains (in a gnome vendor camp along the coastline far south of the dock area). When you give Kandin the Note from Arantir he will say:

Kandin Firepot says 'Brother! I have one of those. He's great, but he's dead. His name was Gabstik and he was a really powerful wizard. I still have one of his greatest possessions! You look like you could use it. I've added another item to my shopping list. I require a dry brittle skin that I can mold or a rare oil found in the planes that I must soak the fuse in. Get me one of these things and I'll trade it for my brother's stick.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by 10.

    You say, 'Hail, Kandin Firepot'
Kandin Firepot says 'Hello, there! Don't have time to talk. I'm workin', workin', workin'! Careful! Don't slip in the oil!

    You say, 'What oil?'

Kandin Firepot says 'Ah the oil! I recently sent a specially crafted golem to explore through a huge portal to another plane. Its instructions were to collect special oil that I suspect existed in the plane. What I think is the golem broke down. This looks like a good task for one like you. Go see what's wrong with the golem. Here are spare gears of mine in case it's broken. Be careful though, if you put it in wrong it could explode, or worse!'

  • You receive a Golem Sprocket.

  • Head to the Plane of Fear with a raid intact. Hand the sprocket to a broken golem. You now have a 65th level Enraged Golem to deal with. This will be a LONG fight, as he has well over 150k hps.
An enraged golem says 'Error! Malfunction! Destroy!
An enraged golem says 'Wizards like you always bring out the worst in me.'

  • Once he is dead, loot Green Oil.

  • Head back to Butcherblock and hand in the Green Oil to Kandin in Butcherblock.

  • Kandin Firepot says 'Oh wow! You found the oil! Where is the golem? You didn't hurt him did you? I am very fond of him. Anyways, here is your reward a note and staff to give to that guy you were asking me about.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by 30.
    You gain experience!

  • You receive a Staff of Gabstik and a Note to Arantir (identifies as "Give him a fish!"), which reads:

  • "The fish thank you for the people you sent me! Oh also if you ever come across my lantern please let me know."

  • Now take the note from Kandin and make sure you have the Blue Crystal Staff and the Gnarled Staff and the Staff of Gabstik on you. Give the note to Dargon in Halas. Arantir will once again appear in her place.

  • You say, 'Hail, Arantir Karondor'
Arantir Karondor says 'Ah yes, you again. Do you have the items? Give me the three you possess and I'll combine them with my own.

  • At this point, hand Arantir the Blue Crystal Staff, the Gnarled Staff, and the Staff of Gabstik.

  • Arantir Karondor says 'Here, this pack contains all of our items. You will never be able to open it again, so you must deliver the pack, intact, to Solomen. He will then reward you. Now that I have helped you, leave me in peace.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by 30.
    You gain experience!

  • You receive a Magically Sealed Bag (identifies as "Godlike magic radiates from this bag").

  • Now you must go back to Solomen in Temple of Solusek Ro and hand him the bag.

  • Solomen says 'You actually did it! I never would have thought that anyone could have truly followed this path. This is a tribute to your intelligence and patience. Here, take this staff and know that you have made Solusek Ro and all the wizards of the world proud this day.'

Your faction standing with Truespirit has been adjusted by -100.

The final faction hit is in fact negative.

  • You receive The Staff of the Four.

You know is there any chance to put a few asteriks or something beside the updated part of this quest? I keep seeing epic 1.0 quests on the updated list and there is no indication as to what has changed...

Beg and plead and keep petitioning. :p And here's a tip, get the BCS, it's not hard. Depending on your level you can either kill him yourself using the gate to zone split trick or use the same trick and simply ask a lvl 70 tank or somehthing to zone in and kill him after he is split from the seahorses. If you still have the 2 staves and get the 3rd and a GM starts conversing with you personally then you'll have a better chance of them just giving you back the note...

    spawn timers
    # Aug 10 2005 at 10:36 PM Rating: Decent
okay, the only reason this epic is hard is because of the spawn times. phinny can be easily soloed by most pet classes over 60, and venril can be taken out with a couple uber people or a decent group. the golem is a joke and can be soloed as long as you're careful in fear.

phinny's spawn time is 12 hours, and people learn that and exploit it. i did, and after 2 days (3 spawns) i left it alone. i know people farm it for the mq prices though, and since he has 4 epic pieces good luck finding him up.

venril is on a bizarre timer, i tried to figure it out. i know its a long one, so i tried 3 days, but he was up, vsr was up, and at the 3 day mark vsr was up again. i suspect because lots of people xp there, that they kill the names with their pl/twink team. if anything i THINK vs works the same way vsr does: 24 hours after vsr or spawned vs goes down, regular vs comes up. just a theory though, cant back it up.

and the golem thankfully is almost always up.

hope this helps someone out there.

Broken Golem does summon.. quad boxed him with 66 Warr, 70 chanter, 68 cleric, 48 wizzie (cough)... completely magic immune.. resisted even reverse DS, slow, cripple...

Max hit about 210. so no difficulty there at all... took 40mins, with DPS being Warr + chanter summoned pet + cleric pet... /YAWN.

and he started running at about 2pct health (which still took bluddy ages to kill him from.. so be wary of any adds nearby)

The broken golem is just east of teh zone in.. bottom of a hill. tiny lil guy, was surrounded, with me, by a few worry wraiths + pets...just south of the bell tower. hope that helps some.

Did the kandin firepot part to day and he was up at this location - 1491 + 2843 If you look at your map its the dwarf camp south of the docs almost in the southwest corner of the zone. I turned in the note and got back the sprocket =)

    MQable?
    # Apr 03 2005 at 8:12 PM Rating: Decent
I have the Gnarled Staff and the Oil from Fear, is the BCS MQable? And when was the last time you knew it was done, Phinny is easy, it's just that I have killed him twice without the drop, and a friend of mine has the BCS in his bank.

    Thanks.

    # Sep 05 2005 at 5:29 PM Rating: Decent
BCS is MQable I know this from experience =D

If the person MQing is less than indifferent to Arantir just use the invis trick it'll work.
    RE: MQable?
    # Apr 14 2005 at 3:10 PM Rating: Decent
Um, maybe MQable. Faction may still be an issue, so be sure that all involved in the MQ aren't indifferent or below to arantir. Took me 26 kills to get my wizard staff from Phinny...

BCS is MQable I dont really remmember if Arantir was on a faction though. If a dark elf can do turn to Arantir though I imagion anyone can.

Atleast Indifference faction is indead required to MQ.

Just did it for a guildy. Rallos Zek Warrior tried at apprehensive, didn't fly. Tried again after the invis trick and it worked like a charm.

Just finished epic for my alt wizzie. Just to clear up a few questions...

You can do this quest at lvl 46+. You can't hand in the potion to Camin until you ding 46.

    MQ's still work.

Soloed Phinney on my main, lvl 70 bard. Looted staff on bard.

Played my friends warrior to solo Venril Sathir, looted staff on wizzie.

Wizzie can talk to Kandin at any level, talk to him to get the gear (this isn't no drop). I put this in shared bank, and went to Fear on my bard (wizzie wasn't 46+ at the time). Did golem with Bard(me), Druid(me boxxing), Warrior, and cleric (friend boxxing both of those characters). Soloed most of the zone on my bard by charm kiting. Had a few problems with getting zone wide DTed by Fright while I was kiting, so we just brought our clerics and cleared the rest of the mobs. Turned in on bard and spawned golem. Pulled to ent, and killed it. About a 7 minute fight, cleric used about 10m healing, rest was nukes. Ran to Kandin on bard to turn in oil, he wouldn't take it. Used sneak and it worked fine.

When I dinged 46 (just today :P) I turned in potion to Camin, gave new potion to Dargon in Halas, got ring, ran to Felwithe, brought back new ring. Arantir was still up after this, so I logged on bard and handed in note from Kandin to Arantir. Then I used sneak (just to be safe) and handed in Phinney staff and PoFear staff. Camped bard and logged on wizzie to hand in VS staff. He took that and gave me baggie. Ran to Temple of Sol Ro and handed in bag to Salomen.

So the entire epic is able to be done at lvl 46, although a lvl 46 can't use the clickie effect.

    G00d luck :)

Golem easy fight, we raided with 2 grps, (no chanters or mezzers) Wiped 2 times tho after golem trying to move to Fright Dread Terror. Then we gave up and left. Woot Staff of Gabstik then headed to KC, VS poped in 5 minutes. Woot. Got Gnarled Staff. Friend had BCS, we went to Arantir in Halas. she handed in staff i handed in my 2. Nothing happened. Found out that all epic MQ's are now no longer working. Soo dont try it! It wont work! Waiting for a GM right now. Then gona go kill Phinny tomorrow. GL and Grats to all the rest of you with epic 1.0's.

Was the faction problem not fixed on this quest when doing turn-ins to Arantir? My ranger, who is indifferent to him, had the blue crystal staff and tried to MQ it with my wizzy buddy. He ate all the pieces. My buddy sent in a petition, hopefully we'll get it fixed.

got plane of fear piece first time in fear. year anda half later i get to fartn around with finishing the quest. phinny was a joke for 65 wiz. descently equipted and 155 aa's. first time duod phinny with chanter 65 and 400 plus aa's. ( no staff) second time solo got back bone and mage stick. 3rd time camped spot for 3 hours and finally phinny popped. but by the spawn ,chanter had joined me again and phinny died with n minutes.( woot dropped staff ) now for VS in kc seen the live version once and nuked sos, black ice, shock of magic. all 3 nukes either fully resisted or partially landed. the right up saying fire is good to use is bogus info. if not bogus SOE changed his resists. this A ' hole should be solo able jus like phinny . Thank you much SOE for keepn this guy off the solo able table.

at one point will finish this, but for the most part i will only use the epic staff for rune shield =/ . with next expansion comn out next month or so ( if don't they change release again ) /sigh epic 2.0 should be awesome, but says if the original epic is finished you can skip a step or steps in the new version of epics they release. but to finish this off i will add this, compared to the "Blood Runed Battle Wand" i have in primary. epic of old isa flat joke."pre PoP"

I've added another item to my shopping list. I require a dry brittle skin that I can mold or a rare oil found in the planes that I must soak the fuse in. Get me one of these things and I'll trade it for my brother's stick.

Anybody have any idea what can be done besides the golem in Fear?

The "old" way to do this quest was to get Cazic's skin off of Cazic Thule in Fear.

So, maybe this was put back into play as an option?

Illusionless solution for those KoS to Barbies
    # Jun 16 2004 at 4:27 PM Rating: Decent
I did this back in December (first Wiz epic on Al'Kabor).

I had no problems invising in to the NPCs in Erudin and Felewithe. Halas was more of a problem, as the guards would charge me as soon as I dropped invis to chat with Arantir. Our server is on a build from November 2002, so there are no illusion potions and this was also before any enchanters had the project illusion AA yet.

I had a Dwarf Pally friend train all the guards away from Arantir while I did the turn in. He did it for me several times without either of us dying.

After you give it to Challice, it identifies as "I never could love a man like you."

    So sad.

Also, the note Arantir gives you when you ask about the gnome identifies as "What is lost must be found."

Hiya, I finally got my Staff of the Four this past Saturday.

Here is an outline of how it went..

    1) Got my BCS off of Phinny on the first try when I was actively looking for it. I had been on several other phinny runs to help other toons get their epic parts and I dont think the BCS dropped on any of those. Mage and my wizzy (both 65) and a lvl 60 Paladin dropped him super easy.

    2) Got the Gnarled Staff off of VS in one try. I camped a level 27 ranger at the KC zone in. His track was just wide enough to "see" VS. He popped one week day morning and I got about 9 friends, 60+ to help out. The key players are a high HP tank, a good healer, and a chanter (or two). The rest are very helpful, but more or less gravy, if the key players are very good.

(BTW, Phinny and VS drop other epic parts and some very nice equipment too, which could make it a bit easier to get help)

    3) After the first two battles, I actually "started" the quest storyline. No real issues. Make sure you have 2kpp on you. Buy the potion only from Dargon. When I got back to Dargon/Aantir after handing the ring to Challice Arantir had despawned. Waited about 5 mins for Dargon to respawn handed "her" the ring back, and everything was good.

    4) The most challenging part was the Broken Golem. If you are in a big raiding type guild, this would be no problem. I do have a great group of friends, and was able to get a few to head to fear to check if he was up with me. Need a tracker, a tank, and a healer to zone into Fear, see if golem is up, and port out. (Note, he will spawn 3 days +/- 12 hours after last kill or server reset). The group I had was kinda overkill, 3 groups, average of lvl 62. The key was a great leader and an experienced fear raider. We took the cautious route and cleared a wide path to the golem and everything around it, including Fright and Dread. Fear was pretty much fully spawned, so this took a long time. The Enraged golem himself is cake. I did the turn in, and ran back to raid. MT had no problem taking argo, and we dropped him in 5 minutes. 150k hps is about right for him. As far as I know, the oil always drops, and my raid was no exception.

5)The one frustrating part was the final turn ins. Since my raid went very late, I logged after the kill. The server reset the next morning and it took over 2 days for Kanidin Fireport to respawn in BB. Kind of a long time when your epic is essentially "done".

    6) The recent "faction fix" worked. I did all the steps of the quest and was still apprehensive to all the quest NPCS. However, all my turn ins were sucessful. Assuming you started AFTER the fixes went in, you should have no issues with NPCs eating your turn ins.

GL on yours! Was a great time.

    Some 2004 Updates
    # Mar 29 2004 at 6:21 PM Rating: Excellent
    1) Dark Elf - Halas faction problems.
As a Dark Elf wizard you CAN buy the Ro's Breath potion from Dargon if you buy the potion "Essence of Barbarian" to turn yourself into a barbarian. Not only made it possible for me to trade in Halas, but kept me from being KoS with the guards as well. Even got a cute pic of my DE as a barbarian... /chuckle. Got a 1 dose potion for 100pp in the bazaar. 5 or 10dose potions appear to go for 1500pp, so stick with the 1dosers unless you have a lot more pp than me. You can also use the potion to turn in Gnoll Fangs from Blackburrow to improve faction permanently, if you don't like the stress of worrying about when your illusion spell is going to wear off. =P

    2) Camin *IS* on a very long spawn timer. Take the Erudin stone from PoK, go to the Inn where he pops, and bind in his room if he is not there. Just hit gate every now and then to see if he's up... there aren't any guards in the Inn so you should be safe gating in.

FYI, I was agnostic, and was only "threateningly" in Erudin.

i agree with jessiegirl, i (dark elf agnostic wizaard) have always been able to walk aroudn freely in erudin. well almost. the paladins of quellious are a royal pain in the butt. they're threating. (those are the guys to the left of the palace portal. ironic how the follower of the goddess of tranquility are the only ones who'll attack isnt it?

Odd about your DE being threatingly in Erudin... which NPC's? My Agnostic mage can walk thru the city from entrance in Tox to the docks without a scratch because the guards con dubious to her. That was even before she started going to the Warrens...

Im looking for tips on how to do the turn in in Halas. Im a DE, and even w/ illusion i am kos to the guards. if i invis myself to the 'turn-in' NPC then become visible to do turn in, i read someones post that said the merchants dont aggro. But what about the guildmasters standing there? are they all indifferent?

DiD this with my DE wizzie, with Barbarian illusion the guards are still KOS, just invis past them and do what you need to do because there are no guards where you need to buy/ do turn ins.

Question... How does a dark elf get into Halas and Felwith?
    RE: Dark elf
    # Feb 10 2004 at 5:52 PM Rating: Decent
    very carefully...

in fele the turn in person is alone in a room (pally guild)

halas is a bit harder, but if you do turn in between guard rotaions you will be fine (the merchants dont agro)

Saw mention of another neat trick used for low-faction hand-ins. Pick up item, click on npc to trade with, get friend to invis you to indiff, and *then* click trade button. Could the same technique be used here for safety? Wait until coast is clear, right-click npc merchant to trade then have friend invis you while you browse for potion? Just a thought. If I get a chance to test this theory, I'll post my results back here.
    Breath of Ro-ng ???
    # Nov 28 2003 at 10:39 PM Rating: Decent
I bought "Ro's Breath" off a Merchant in Thurgadin. Caemin would not take it. When I went to buy the "Ro's Breath" off Dargon, it said "Duplicate Lore Items".

After destroying the first, I could buy the second, and Caemen was happy to take that potion.

So the two are the same for purposes of if you can own them, but different in terms of the quest. Save yourself 1,000pp -- buy it from Dargon.

this was changed at some point in time. you can now buy the potion from any of the four venders in the game that sell it and turn it in.

I bought it from Hulda, in the Thurgadin bank. Worked just fine for me. Cost was 927 plat at ally level.
